COTE: Dominating The So-Called Geniuses!

Chapter 2: Chapter 1: The Absurd Bet and the Class Guide’s Resistance

Sakurajima in April—a place where cherry blossoms painted the breeze in soft pink hues, creating a picturesque scene straight out of a dream. Under this canopy of petals, Yuki walked through the gates of Advanced Nurturing High School. Each step carried him deeper into a world that felt both familiar and surreal.

"So this is it. The world of Classroom of the Elite," Yuki muttered to himself, a wry smile tugging at his lips.

There was an undeniable absurdity to his situation. Yuki wasn't a native of this world. He was a traveler, thrust into this reality after being reincarnated as the heir to an ancient and powerful family. His last name was a relic of tradition and prestige, but none of that mattered now.

###

It all started with an outrageous bet.

A month ago, during a high-profile cocktail party, a prominent figure from Sakurajima boasted about founding an elite school that produced society's brightest stars. Yuki's eccentric grandfather, ever the provocateur, dismissed the claim with a scoff.

"Your school? A playground for amateurs," the old man had said, sipping his drink with practiced indifference.

The heated exchange escalated into a wager. The terms? Yuki would enroll as a student at Advanced Nurturing High School and singlehandedly dismantle its rigid hierarchy.

Ridiculous, right? But Yuki's protests were ignored, and soon enough, he was on a plane to Sakurajima, tasked with the impossible: conquering an academy designed to challenge the most gifted minds.

###

As Yuki wandered the campus, the grandeur of the school struck him. This was no ordinary institution. The Advanced Nurturing High School recruited only 160 students per year, splitting them evenly across four classes—A, B, C, and D.

Class rankings determined a student's access to resources, opportunities, and even their future. The ultimate goal? To graduate from Class A and secure unparalleled privileges in society. The competition was fierce, the stakes high.

Yuki smirked. "Sounds fun."

His stroll brought him to the first-year building, where he found himself assigned to Class D.

###

The classroom buzzed with chatter as students settled in. Yuki quickly located his desk, situated at the back and center of the room. To his left sat a girl with sleek black hair and a cold, commanding presence. Her nameplate read Suzune Horikita.

To his right, an empty seat bore the name Airi Sakura.

Yuki's gaze lingered briefly on Horikita. Her icy demeanor and distant aura were almost intimidating, but he found them oddly intriguing.

As he settled into his seat, a boy with short brown hair turned around, offering a friendly smile.

"Hey, I'm Yosuke Hirata. Nice to meet you!"

"Yuki," he replied simply.

Before their conversation could continue, a girl with twin ponytails leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"An international student? Really?" she asked, her excitement barely contained. "I'm Mei-Yu Wang! I've lived here since elementary school, but it's so cool to meet someone new!"

Yuki chuckled, exchanging pleasantries. Meanwhile, Hirata looked slightly bewildered, as if wondering how he'd been sidelined in a conversation he started.

###

As the classroom filled, a sudden hush fell over the students. A woman in a sleek black suit and ponytail walked in, exuding authority.

"I'm Chabashira Sae, your homeroom teacher," she said, her voice cold and devoid of emotion.

Her piercing gaze swept across the room, silencing even the most confident students. Yet, when her eyes landed on Yuki, there was something different—a flicker of doubt, confusion, and resistance.

Yuki's interest was piqued. Why would the class guide of D—the lowest-ranked class—react that way to him?

Tapping his finger lightly on the desk, he made a silent vow. Whatever secret Chabashira Sae was hiding, he would uncover it.

In this school, the lines between allies and enemies were blurred, and every interaction held the potential for betrayal. But for Yuki, that was just part of the game.

And he planned to win.
