Chapter 430 Calculation and Counter-Calculation (Page 12)
"Bring it in!"
Mu Yi was a little curious as to why Buddhism sent an envoy at this time.
Ma Er and Bai He brought the messenger back, and Mu Yi recognized the messenger with just one glance.
"Maitreya?"
Mu Yi squinted his eyes and looked at the visitor.
A very discerning Buddha, who is said to have a big belly that can tolerate things that are difficult to tolerate in the world; he smiles when he opens his mouth and laughs at the ridiculous people in the world.
The smiling Buddha and the round belly were different from the Buddhas Mu Yi had seen so far.
"I've met the emperor!" Maitreya saluted Mu Yi with his hands clasped together.
"Why did you come here this time?" Mu Yi nodded in response, and then asked straight to the point.
"Entrusted by others, I came here to surrender to the emperor!" Maitreya said with a smile, but the content of his words did not sound so true.
"Surrender, do you know what you are talking about?" Jia Xu immediately jumped out and questioned.
"Monks don't lie!" Maitreya said with a smile to Jia Xu.
Under the background of the smile, even Jia Xu was a little unsure of what the other party meant.
"Can I ask for anything?" Jia Xu asked tentatively.
"I only want one thing!" Maitreya was quite sincere and did not hide anything.
"Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is willing to lead the eight heavenly dragons to surrender to His Majesty the Emperor, but I also ask Your Majesty to allow us to take a cassock land here as the territory under the jurisdiction of Buddhism. We have also heard of Your Majesty's enfeoffment. I wonder if Your Majesty the Emperor can agree!"
"Take a cassock land?" Mu Yi wanted to laugh a little, so he asked why the sun came out in the west, and the Buddhists were willing to give up such a large piece of land, waiting for him here.
Among the Buddhist myths, there are countless myths about the land of cassocks, including but not limited to Ksitigarbha's cassocks covering Jiuhua Mountain, Jigong Xinghua Yanling's cassocks covering the mountains...
This thing can be regarded as the Buddhist tradition of taking advantage of human nature's greed, anger, and ignorance. First, it gives a small profit, and makes a contract to ask for seemingly trivial things, and then makes people regret it.
"As long as a cassock covers the ground?" Jia Xu instinctively felt something was wrong, but he couldn't tell what was wrong, but he was 100% sure that there was a scam.
Just when Jia Xu wanted to continue testing, Mu Yi directly agreed.
"Can!"
Seeing Jia Xu looking at him in surprise, Mu Yi used his eyes to indicate that he knew what he was thinking.
Many strategies will be greatly reduced the second time they are performed.
Knowing what the Buddhist side was planning in advance, Mu Yi already had a way to deal with it. The most urgent task now was that he needed Ksitigarbha to hand over his part of the Netherworld's authority.
"Hand over the things!" Mu Yi reached out and asked for it.
Maitreya obviously knew what Mu Yi wanted, but before that, what he needed was not Mu Yi's verbal promise, but a solid contract.
"Emperor, are you willing to make a contract with me?" Maitreya asked directly.
"Yes!" Mu Yi waved his hand, and a contract signed by heaven and earth was placed in front of Maitreya.
Maitreya checked it using Buddhist methods and directly stamped it with the seal.
Mu Yi noticed that it was not his own, but the seal of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
"The poor monk is just being entrusted by others. Don't blame me, Emperor!" Seeing that Mu Yi noticed, Maitreya showed an innocent expression. Mu Yi didn't say anything more, nodded, and typed his name.
He made the contract himself, so he naturally knew that there were no loopholes in the contract. If Maitreya messed up, the contract would be impossible to establish. After all, it was a contract certified by heaven and earth, and its effectiveness was guaranteed.
The contract was completed, Maitreya left gracefully, and news came back from the front line, and the Buddhist army that had been waiting for them began to gradually dispersal.
Both sides got what they needed according to the agreement reached, and everything seemed to be going smoothly.
Han Xin led his men to take over the eight Tianlong armies, and then Mu Yi, surrounded by civil servants and generals, entered Jiuhua Mountain.
It is not the real Jiuhua Mountain, but because Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is here, this place is called Jiuhua Mountain.
There is a Hengsha River in front of Jiuhua Mountain. There are countless sins in the Hengsha River. If anyone wants to cross this river, he will suffer countless sins in his life and travel through countless seas.
Mu Yi stepped into the Hengsha River and immediately felt something extraordinary. The Hengsha River seemed to be among billions of stars, and these billions of stars were all emitting great light.
But after all, it was just a false feeling. Mu Yi and his party were all said to be strong-willed. This thing, which was like mental pressure, would naturally not have any impact on them.
When they crossed the so-called Ganges River, a Bodhisattva appeared in front of them.
There are three types of Bodhisattva. One is ordinary Bodhisattva, such as Lingji Bodhisattva, Sunlight Bodhisattva, and Moonlight Bodhisattva.
The second type is the great Bodhisattva, such as Manjushri and Samantabhadra.
The third type is a Bodhisattva who realizes the Holy Fruit of the Ten Grounds early, attains the Great Perfection of Wisdom early, and can become a Buddha and an ancestor. There are only two such Bodhisattvas, Guanyin and Ksitigarbha.
Different from Mahasthamaprapta, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is in the form of a voice-hearer, wearing a cassock covering his right shoulder, with a lotus in his left hand, and fearless in his right hand, forming a lotus platform.
"Namo Amitabha, I have seen the emperor!"
"Your Majesty, please forgive me. I can't move now. I can only come to see you in the form of Dharma!" Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva apologized in the Dharma Appearance Ceremony.
Seeing such fine movements, Lu Bu, Zhao Yun and others frowned. Such a large Dharma image was nothing, but this control ability had to be admired for its exquisiteness.
Even Zhao Yun, who has the strongest control ability, can never make the statue come to life like a real person.
"It doesn't matter, just give me the things!" Mu Yi didn't care what Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva said. What he wanted was the authority over the Netherworld in the hands of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
"Please come with me!"
It was not until he saw Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva that Mu Yi understood what it meant to be unable to move. There was no special meaning, it was just the literal meaning.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has merged with the netherworld, or in other words, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has merged with the Buddha land where he sits.
Mu Yi understood that this was the same as what he wanted to do, which was to master the Netherworld.
If there was no Fengdu and no Mu Yi, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva could really persevere, maybe one day he could truly assimilate the entire Netherworld.
"So this is what it means to vow not to become a Buddha until hell is empty?" Mu Yi shook his head.
If the hell is not empty, you will not become a Buddha. On the other hand, only by becoming a Buddha can the hell be emptied. This sounds like an endless cycle.
Everything has a price. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva took advantage of this loophole, and the final result was that he became a tool man of the Netherworld to maintain the operation of the Netherworld.
In other words, before Ksitigarbha assimilated the entire Netherworld, Ksitigarbha was the first to be assimilated into the Netherworld. What is even worse is that this assimilation is irreversible.
Regardless of success or failure, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has no chance to come back again.
"You didn't do it voluntarily?" Mu Yi asked with interest. This didn't seem like something a normal person would do. He was probably tricked.
