CONNECT: Rise Of The Undead King

Chapter 21: A Game With Connect

After everything was done on the corpse, removing all the resources that had been used to turn him into a statue, the body was returned to his family for proper burial.

The cops continued searching the city fruitlessly, still looking for Snowflake. They decided to print out his picture and hand it to all the officers, to show and check every citizen that walked by. And that's how someone eventually came forward.

It was a young boy, around the age of ten, who came to meet the cops, claiming he knew where the person in the picture lived. A few men were sent to follow him to the area and report back, and that's how they found themselves in front of Uche's house in the evening, with a full elite anti-criminal squad, all armed.

"Everyone, get ready and take guard. We are breaking in now!"

Sergeant Kim shouted as the workers drilled out a large chunk of the door, creating a space large enough for them to breach in.

"Assault, get in first. We don't know what he has, so take guard!"

Sergeant Kim ordered, taking the lead, covered in a black metallic helmet and carrying a shield in his left hand with a rifle in his right.

Others followed behind him, while Inspector Ray stood at the back of the assault team, arms folded with a smirk on his face. He wasn't a fighter, so it was only right for him to stay behind.

Upon entering the building, Sergeant Kim found Uche standing at the center of the room with his hands raised in surrender.

On instinct, everybody pointed their guns at him and cocked them in an instant, but no one pulled the trigger.

"Stay still, do not move or we'll fire!"

Sergeant Kim shouted as his eyes darted around the room, searching for any kind of setup, maybe explosives or something else.

After looking around for a few minutes, he lowered his gun and gave a command.

"Cuff him."

Two men immediately walked over to Uche, carefully placing the iron cuffs on his wrists.

"Do you know what law you're breaking by bursting into an innocent man's house and arresting him without a warrant?"

Uche said, watching as they cuffed him, guns still pointed at his head.

'There's no escape in this. How is she going to break me out?'

He wondered.

"Call the search team in, we need to raid his house,"

Sergeant Kim commanded.

The search party entered instantly and began combing through everywhere, looking for any clue that would serve as evidence that this man was truly Snowflake.

Outside the building, Inspector Ray burst into laughter as Uche slowly walked out, his legs and arms cuffed. Sergeant Kim was behind him, flanked by several elite cops from headquarters.

"I still can't believe it, man. To say that I can finally kick your ass, Snowflake!"

"You have the guts to tell me how a criminal should dress."

Inspector Ray couldn't contain his amusement, his smile widening by the second.

Uche stared at the young Inspector for a few moments, then looked around at everyone before speaking.

"I bet you wouldn't even know if a criminal was among you. None of you would notice if one of your own was working for Snowflake."

He fixed his eyes on Inspector Ray.

"Well, Snowflake, I've had that feeling too. Do you mind telling us who your mole is among everyone here? I can't wait to kick their ass."

Inspector Ray taunted.

"Maybe it's you. Who knows?"

"And what evidence do you bastards have against me that I'm Snowflake?"

Uche replied, which only made the young Inspector's smile widen.

"Nice. A bold claim."

Inspector Ray said as he drew his pistol and aimed it directly at Uche's leg. But before he could shoot, one of the men from headquarters stepped in, blocking his way.

"Orders have been given. We are to shoot him only if he makes an attempt to run,"

The man said calmly, redirecting the pistol with his hand.

The young Inspector glared at Sergeant Kim, who was standing behind Uche.

'That old fool. I'll kill him right after Snowflake is dead.'

He thought. He knew it was Sergeant Kim who had given the command, not headquarters.

"Sir, we found something."

Someone from the search team said as he stepped outside, holding something in his hand.

'Damn, how did they find those?'

In the man's hand was Mira's bloody singlet. Uche had hidden it somewhere he thought they wouldn't search, but they did. Alongside it was her disguise dress—the one she had used to save him—as well as his own shirt. The same shirt he had worn yesterday, still speckled with blood, since Mira had injured him while "testing" something.

Unfortunately for him, that was the exact same shirt both Sergeant Kim and Inspector Ray had seen in the video. The same one Snowflake had worn while killing the innocent man last night.

"Wow, wow, wow. I think this is enough evidence."

Inspector Ray said, walking up to the man and snapping pictures of the clothes.

"Anything else?"

Sergeant Kim asked the search team member, who shook his head slightly.

"Keep searching. I'm sure you'll find more."

Inspector Ray said, still taking photos of the clothes one by one.

"Arghhh!!!"

Uche let out a stifled groan as he used inhuman strength to shove the two officers holding him away. He quickly brought his cuffed hands toward his eye, where he felt a familiar faint pain.

Everyone instinctively pointed their guns at him.

"Do not move, or we'll shoot!"

Sergeant Kim shouted, aiming at his leg from behind.

Uche stood still, head bowed, his hands covering his eye as the pain shifted into something else. Then he raised his head, staring blankly into the air.

'What strength did he use to shove two elite squad members away?'

Inspector Ray thought, his gun still trained on him.

Uche started seeing the usual distinct vision, eerily similar to what he had seen yesterday.

The same hand was flipping through the empty pages of a book, before stopping in the middle. Then the hand brought down a pencil and began writing something across the blank paper.

'Love the little game?'
