Coin’s Edge: Reincarnated as a Extra

Chapter 98: just classmates

''What the hell! Why are you here?'' Tyrone asked, glancing at the three people ahead.

Freddie and his comrades just looked at him cautiously, ready to fight at any moment. It was clear they had witnessed his true power before.

He possessed an enhanced coin that even commoners feared. None of them could defeat him right now.

''What happened?'' Hector and Bam quickly arrived and asked.

Since Hector was blind, Tyrone explained.

''Nothing, just classmates. Don't worry about it. Your business is not here, let me finish them off.''

Freddie knew Tyrone always obeyed Hector for some reason, so Tyrone wouldn't let him find out about them.

Freddie immediately shouted, trying to announce himself as quickly as possible before Tyrone attacked.

''It's me! Freddie! We're in the same class, do you remember? I saved you before!''

Hector ordered.''Tyrone, stop!''

Tyrone clicked his tongue, then looked at Hector in annoyance.

''Tsk, you guys are lucky!''

''Hey! Don't act so high and mighty! You know I've done everything since we got here! We need to beat them to earn points… That's easy prey.''

Hector didn't say anything. He just stepped closer to Freddie's team.

''Calm down. He won't do anything to your team. I just wanted a bit of information. You know… we got lost on the main route. In addition, We should form a team.''

At this point, Freddie and his team began to ease their guard. Freddie, speaking for his team, tried to calm his comrades and stepped forward.

''That's great! I know you. You're a good guy, not him. As for your question, you can go ahead until you see the biggest tree in the forest. Then you'll find the main route. And about your suggestion… It's great to make a team, but we can't. I mean, your partner is pretty…''

He said while looking at Tyrone with a bit of caution. Tyrone just smirked provocatively after that.

"Yeah, I know, that's a shame… but I wanna ask you something. Have you seen any other teams around here?"

"If that's a noble team, it's even better."

"Ah, well, let me think." Freddie scratched his chin, trying to recall the route he had taken before.

Then, a young girl behind him spoke up.

"I can tell you! If you head north, you'll see about two or three noble teams. I stumbled on them while sneaking around."

Hector nodded for a moment, then suddenly widened his eyes, staring north. Freddie's team felt uneasy as he did that. Hector's blind eyes were terrifying—damaged badly by some kind of mana.

"I see." Hector turned back and spoke in a low voice, just enough for Freddie to hear.

"Thanks for the help. But now… You guys can be eliminated from this exam."

Freddie smiled, reaching out for a handshake, but then froze as those words sank in. A chill ran down his spine.

Suddenly, his body went limp. A strange pain spread through him until he blacked out.

He collapsed.

"W-What happened?" Freddie's teammates panicked as they saw their comrade fall for no reason.

But one by one, they too passed out as two coins struck their chests.

"Tsk! You're like a venomous snake," Tyrone chuckled, stepping forward to grab their badges.

"I think so too," Bam nodded nearby.

Hector sighed, glancing around in boredom.

"Sorry… I'm not a heroic guy."

After Tyrone was done, Hector's team rose in the rankings, but it didn't feel like much of a victory.

Because Freddie's team had so few points after all. It was understandable since their team was not strong. They would be eliminated by the Artifact if they faced a noble team. And their fate was even worse, because they couldn't treat each other smoothly and kindly.

So, all of the team's commoners would share the same fate. Yet, luckily for them, they met Hector and applied a few good pieces of information. That made them come to the place that they wanted to go to soon.

"We've arrived." Hector glanced around the place as he scanned everything with his eyes.

There wasn't any trace of beasts.

A perfect place where they could rest as the sun was about to go down. Once the sun went down, the nightmare would begin. All beasts would come out, and many teams would be eliminated by them.

"So, you mean the strongest beasts act at night?" Tyrone asked while looking around for a proper rock to rest on during the night.

"Yes, even tons of beasts will appear, like a tide. We can't endure that until the sun rises."

"So, it's true then. Tomorrow will be our day, since all teams will suffer and become weak and exhausted." Bam lifted his eyes to the setting sun.

"I'm not sure, but I think some team might stumble upon this place during the nightmare. Better we rest soon."

"You're right…" Bam nodded and sighed, as always.

Just like that, the sun went down and night covered everything. Then, countless howls and roars of the beasts echoed for all the students in this part of the exam.

A slaughter happened, just as Hector predicted, and even worse. Luckily, the students who were torn apart by the beasts wouldn't die, since the Artifact sent them back to the academy. Yet, this meant they had finished their final exam without any rewards.

"Well, I told you, we're wasting our resources on the commoners. All of them were doomed to lose from the first part of the exam. They should just accept their fate of sacrifice, as that's been their role since birth." Toby said with disdain, staring at the massive screen ahead.

"Hah, so what about them!" Tara replied in amusement as he saw Hector's team sleeping safely on the rocks, with no beasts nearby.

Toby frowned for a moment.

"Just lucky trash. Or… maybe there's some kind of trick here." But he quickly went silent, because everyone here knew no one could possibly mess with an S-rank Artifact.

Just a stupid thought.

"I think you're too obsessed with the commoners. Maybe that's why your empire always faces rebellion, since you cling to power too much." An emperor scoffed, mocking Toby.

"Enough!" Morris slammed his fist on the armrest, sending out a wave of mana that quickly ended the conflict.

He continued to look at Hector's team, his gaze narrowing on a particular individual among them.

"That boy has a special ability in his eyes."
