Coin’s Edge: Reincarnated as a Extra

Chapter 78: I just want to kill him!

A few days passed. Hector's emotions gradually pulled back, but his mind was still full of fury and discomfort.

Especially after everything he had suffered.

It was like spikes carved deep into his mind.

"I just want to kill him!" Hector grimaced with unease as he stomped forward.

The sound of his cane echoed with every step he took.

He was already blind, so he needed the cane to find his way accurately.

And he had been practicing this ever since he lost his sight.

Bam!

And he fell again, just like always.

Lying on the floor, Hector clenched his teeth so hard that blood began to trickle down.

"DAMN IT!"

Hector slammed his fist against the floor, pouring all his rage into the blow.

That was all he could do now.

"I can't stop thinking about killing him! I want to butcher him into pieces!"

Then, slowly, he tried to stand up once more.

Leaning slightly on his cane — his most precious Artifact for now — he continued walking like a true blind man.

He paced around the treatment room for hours, rested, then did it again.

He had to walk normally as soon as possible. He couldn't afford to waste time in a place like this.

And then, on one of those bleak days...

There were two men standing before him.

"Are you okay?" Kevin asked in a deep voice, glancing aimlessly as usual.

Nearby, Tyrone watched Hector with amusement gleaming in his eyes.

It was probably that he felt a bit excited seeing Hector's expression right now. That made sense — he also held some resentment toward Hector after all the trick Hector had dragged him into.

In reality, Hector was still seething with anger, so he answered in a tired tone, as if he didn't even want to talk.

"Don't ask pointless questions like that. Even if I say I'm fine, would you really believe it, huh?"

"I guess so. If you can say that, it means you're in a stable enough state. Then, we'll have a discussion afterward," Kevin nodded, giving a slight smile as he pulled over a chair and sat down.

Tyrone followed suit and did the same.

"So, first of all—we're going to talk about this rhyhmn's corruption!" Kevin said in a serious tone.

Hector furrowed his brows as he recalled all the horrific things he'd suffered in that prison.

"That really left a scar on me," he thought, a slight shiver running down his spine.

Then, they discussed all of it.

But the pieces of information they had gathered were vague and minimal.

Eventually, Kevin's conclusion was that it came from a Yakhi coin—or more precisely, something similar to a Yakhi coin.

"So, now what?" Hector asked, his face showing a hint of apathy.

It had once been something he cared about. Now, he barely noticed it.

"Nothing," Kevin replied with a shrug, still blind as ever.

"Huh?" Tyrone turned to Kevin in confusion, while Hector let out a sigh—for no particular reason.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, we can't do anything right now. This is my clan's issue. I only gathered you guys to announce and warn you—because you all carry this power too," Kevin added.

"The two of you should keep my tracking coin on yourself. I'll always keep my eyes on you—even though I don't have eyes anymore. And more importantly, you've been partners from the beginning, so stay together. That'll protect you… at least from Haley."

"More importantly, you guys should be placed in the Academy. That's a safe place, anyway," Kevin said, glancing at Hector this time.

"I guess you've learned something for yourself."

Hector let out a deep, uncomfortable sigh as old memories came flooding back.

His eyes had been smothered by money, and the consequences followed naturally.

"Maybe I should've listened to Violet's advice."

Of course, it was too late now. He couldn't change anything anymore.

Then Kevin continued speaking.

"We've created a large number of capsules for you. I guess you'll need them for treatment. You can relax—they're crafted using the capsule formula Tyrone gave me."

Kevin took a box from his storage system and intended to hand it to Hector. But just then, Hector began to speak in a disinterested voice, though his gratitude slipped through.

"I'm grateful for everything you've done… really. But it won't work on me anymore."

"My illusions are starting to form even when I use the capsules. They've lost their effect. No—what I should say is, my mind began to build resistance to them."

"But don't worry about that. I've found a solution for it."

"I just need an artifact—the one that's the reward for the final exam in a few weeks."

Hector had little intention of relying on Kevin. He knew that nothing in life came for free. If he depended too much on Kevin, he'd inevitably be tied to him. In short, he'd owe Kevin.

And Hector understood how uncomfortable that feeling was. More importantly, he didn't want to become Kevin's subordinate. What he desired was freedom.

No one could control him.

And the first step in his plan was winning the reward from the final exam. If he had that, he could handle his own problems.

Then, he would slowly approach and eventually crush Haley.

But first, he would hide his true power and train until he became truly strong.

He believed he could do it. After all, he was one of the few who possessed a legendary coin.

Kevin just nodded slightly, amused and respectful of Hector's decision.

That was the kind of partner he needed—not useless tagalongs.

"Alright then. Good for you. If you need anything, just report to my elder butler. He's always at my mansion."

Then he got up from the chair and said,

"Now, I'm busy. I have a few matters to handle in my clan. My butler will deliver the monthly gift to you guys. Of course, I will pay for your emotional damage, Hector."

Tyrone's eyes immediately lit up, while Hector's expression twisted. He pressed the side of his head in frustration and helplessness.

"Damn it! I'd rather get my eyes back than take that money."
