Chapter 40: Fatal coin
"You shouldn't have possessed that item like that..." Jet gazed at Hector's status with a jealous look.
Especially when he looked at the legendary coin, his inward resentment began to rise uncontrollably.
"Whoever wins takes everything."
Then, Jet took out his weapons and armor from his space system.
A large, long, and sharp blade emerged from the fractured air. Jet grasped it and swung it a few times around himself.
The blade was about 2 meters long, slicing through the air, leaving behind a faint trail of wind, deeply sinking into he ground.
When Hector watched it, he felt a bit uneasy. It was even taller than he, as he stood at only 1.6 meters.
"You have one minute to prepare!" Jet glanced at Hector with deadpan eyes before shifting his gaze to the hourglass, its sand beginning to flow.
''Tsk! I really think that everything becomes like that…'' He sighed quietly.
Then, He looked at the Jet's status closely for a while.

Fatal coin(D): You want a fair fight? The coin of just god will give you that thing!
Sharp blade (D): The blade is made of metal and silver.

''I probably should check closely the money bag that he had given me..''
''What a bitter! I have been too careless!''
However, it was too hard to blame Hector because Fatal Coin was literally rare, even if its level was pretty low.
Once this coin was activated, whoever also couldn't possibly be stopped.
This match could only end with one of us dead! But in return, the winner would claim the opponent's space system reward.
The space systems were something no one could steal, but with this artifact, anything was possible.
"Everything will get really complicated. If I kill him, things won't end well. But if I don't… I'll certainly die!"
"Either way, I'm always on the unfavorable side. Just thinking about it is already giving me a headache."
Hector shook his head slightly, adjusting his metallic gauntlet while gripping his cane tightly with his other hand.
"In truth… I'm a little afraid. But also… excited!"
Flick!
Flick!
Flick!
Immediately, three coins were shot out from Hector's fingers rapidly at an incredible speed.
If one looked closely, one could see streaks of lightning flickering across the surface of the coins.
Bam!
However, the coins were quickly destroyed upon contact with Jet's blade, which acted as a shield in front of him.
"Tsk! I knew it wouldn't be that easy!" Hector clicked his tongue in annoyance. He then quickly glanced at his cane, which emitted a faint, ominous glow of crackling lightning. Countless tiny sparks of mana gathered around the air, converging at the handle of his cane.
Without hesitation, Hector swung his cane in a straight line, unleashing a torrent of lightning that tore through the air and scorched the floor, surging toward Jet, who was lunging at him.
Feeling the numbness of electricity in his hand, Hector couldn't help but utter in surprise,
"It's amazing!"
But his excitement didn't last long, as Jet continued charging toward him, steadily closing the distance without a single wound.
"Tsk! He has good armor!"
Finally, only two meters remained between them.
Jet, following the momentum of his charge, swung his blade in a wide arc, slashing horizontally toward Hector!
But Hector couldn't dodge—the strike had already been unleashed. Planting his feet firmly on the ground, he raised his cane to block the incoming attack, but he instantly regretted it.
Keeng!
"Fuck!"
A massive impact reverberated through him, sending a sharp tremor of pain through his hands. The force surged through his body, and in the next moment, he was sent rolling a fair distance away!
"D-Damn!"
Hector struggled to get up, using his cane like a crutch.
"My hands are nearly torn apart!" he muttered and gritted his teeth, his narrowed eyes fixed on his thumb that was nearly dislocated from gripping the cane too tightly.
"DIE!"
A crazed shout echoed through the air, followed by the sharp whistle of wind tearing toward him.
Without hesitation, Hector instinctively lowered himself at an angle, bracing his armored shoulder to deflect the attack, sending it down the floor.
It worked. Thanks to his high-quality armor and sharp reflexes, Hector had avoided suffering the same fate as before!
But he should have done more!
Bang!
Within half a second after the first strike, an unknown force struck Hector's back, slamming him into a nearby wall.
Truly, Jet's fighting style not only used a large blade but also used hand-to-hand combat and kicks.
"If that's all you've got, I'll tear you to pieces!" Jet spat, his eyes filled with disdain as he dragged his massive blade and slowly approached Hector.
He was no longer in a rush. By now, he had already sized up Hector as mere prey.
He wanted to toy with him first—torture him before finishing him off in the cruelest way possible.
…
"A time calculation problem?" Hector weakly leaned on his cane, his body trembling in pain. His gaze shifted between the hourglass and Jet.
"I need to use as little mana as possible!" He gritted his teeth tightly, his eyes lingering on the handle of his cane for a moment.
After a brief silence, Hector suddenly lunged at Jet with a determined, calculated resolve.
Keng!
…
Kang!
…
Minutes passed, and just as expected, Hector could barely keep up with Jet.
From the very beginning, this had been an unfair fight!
Right now, Jet was gripping Hector's neck with one hand, lifting him into the air while relentlessly pounding his face with the other.
"How boring."
Bam!
''Your skills are too bad!''
Bam!
''You're born from where trash?''
Things had taken a turn for the worse.
"Does it hurt?" Jet smirked.
Hector couldn't answer—his throat was tightly gripped, nearly making speaking impossible.
"Fuck! Of course, it hurts!" He thought, grimacing in rage as he struggled to pry Jet's fingers off his neck.
Bam!
Another punch landed straight into Hector's abdomen.
"Tsk! You've got good armor."
A flicker of jealousy flashed in Jet's eyes as he glanced at Hector's armor—completely unscathed despite the barrage of attacks.
"I bet Violet gave you all of this." Jet's voice was heavy with resentment as he stared at Hector's swollen, bruised face.
Then, with a furious growl, he forcefully hurled Hector toward the nearby wall.
"Use the capsule yourself!"
Hector flew uncontrollably through the air before finally coming to a stop as he crashed into the wall.
Bang!
"Urghh!" Hector groaned in pain as his body slammed against the hard surface of the wall, then slid down slowly like a discarded rag doll.
