Cheat na Kaineko no Okage de Rakuraku Level Up

Chapter 64

I instinctively looked up to see a bird in the sky, as big as an airplane. It was unmistakably a Roc Bird. I certainly didn’t want to encounter more of these creatures.

“Kaahhh!” the Roc Bird screeched, clearly angered by our proximity to its nest.

The party experienced in outdoor combat seemed more familiar with such situations. “Everyone, move to an open area and keep your distance!” they commanded, knowing the danger of staying clustered together.

However, the bird was much faster, diving down rapidly.

One of our companions was blown away by the bird’s dive.

Its wings flapped powerfully, making it difficult to approach.

“This is tough. I can find nests, but I can’t beat a Roc Bird…” Richard admitted his limitations. Indeed, defeating such a creature would require taming a dragon.

“Master! Retreat for now! We’re at a disadvantage here!” Misha’s advice made sense – charging in with a sword seemed futile against a bird’s attack.

“The bird seems to have quite a few openings!” Lena transformed into her wolf form, her speed potentially a match for the bird.

She leaped from a tree towards the Roc Bird, biting it before quickly retreating.

“GUOOOOAAA!” The bird, enraged, struggled to keep up with the wolf’s swift movements.

“Well done, Lena!” Misha, noticing an opening, moved in closer to strike the bird.

Despite her hits, the Roc Bird, with its high endurance, didn’t go down immediately.

Focused on chasing Lena, the bird paid little attention to Misha. “Come over here!” Misha exclaimed, but the bird remained fixated on Lena.

Alright, it’s time for me to do what I can.

I concentrated on my sword, calming my mind. This required a bit of time.

“Heh! Over here, chicken!” Lena, as an advanced thief, managed to keep the bird’s attention on her.

Without getting hit, even the most formidable opponent can be fought without injury.

But the Roc Bird was no ordinary foe. Gradually, it adapted to Lena’s movements.

She was cornered, with a tree blocking her path and thorny bushes on either side, creating a dead end.

“Ah! No way, there’s no way out!”

Normally, Lena wouldn’t make such a mistake. The Roc Bird had left her no room to maneuver.

However, her distraction gave me enough time to prepare.

I leaped forward with all my might.

“Uooooooh!”

Skill: Power Charge.

I concentrated my spirit to unleash a critical strike.

A Lv 29 warrior’s critical hit should be enough to take down a Roc Bird—

The sword pierced deep into the bird.

The Roc Bird slowly fell, as if succumbing to its fate. I quickly withdrew my sword and leaped aside to avoid being crushed.

“We managed it…”

Indeed, reaching Lv 29 had made a significant difference in my combat abilities.

“Master! Thank you! I was almost a goner!”

Lena hugged me, still in her wolf form.

“Well, if you stay like that, I’ll let it slide,” Misha allowed.

But it was embarrassing to be licked all over the face by a wolf…

“Also, Master did great, but Lena, make sure you reflect. You were close to seriously hurting yourself.”

“Boss is right… I’ll be more careful…”

While our party was lively with discussion—

“These people are truly incredible…”

Richard and the rest of the other party seemed astounded.

Well, it’s not embarrassing to show off our strengths.
