Cheat na Kaineko no Okage de Rakuraku Level Up

Chapter 59

“Please take care, and be safe!”

Verdonna came outside the mansion to see us three off.

Her expression was stern, but that didn’t mean she lacked emotion.

She must be extremely worried about us, especially Lena.

“We’ll come back safe and sound, so don’t worry!”

Lena waved back energetically.

Arriving at the royal castle, we saw several carriages lined up, loaded with luggage.

We boarded one designated for adventurers.

Once everyone was assembled, we set off.

Another party was sharing our carriage.

In such a confined space, the difference in the air was palpable. These weren’t just any adventurers; they were clearly skilled.

A frail-looking woman with the air of a sorceress approached us.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Martina, an A-rank adventurer.”

She extended her hand, and I shook it. Martina did the same with Misha and Lena.

“I thought I’d offer some advice since this might be your first royal commission quest.”

“Thank you very much.”

We were grateful for her friendly approach. Hostility in such close quarters would have been suffocating.

“Royal commissions are always dangerous. This time too, only experienced adventurers are participating.”

“Yes, we understand,” Misha said as we naturally formed a circle around Martina.

“So, what do you think is the most important thing to be careful of?”

It could be anything…

“Teamwork… maybe?”

“That’s important, but something more fundamental.”

“Completing the quest for sure?”

Martina shook her head.

“The correct answer is to know your limits and survive. That’s the most important.”

Martina’s face and eyes were serious. She genuinely cared for the juniors.

“Royal quests are notoriously difficult. Even for A-rank adventurers, the risk is high, and death in battle is possible.”

Lena nodded in agreement.

“If you always fight as if it’s a matter of life and death, you’ll eventually die. Then you’re not an A-rank adventurer, just a dead person.”

Martina’s speech quickened, revealing her earnestness.

“Remember, surviving is the priority, whether or not you complete the quest. We’re all specialists in staying alive. Being properly cowardly is an A-rank adventurer’s qualification.”

“We understand and will value our lives,” Misha nodded.

“Don’t push yourself too hard. New A-rank adventurers often try to overdo it.”

Martina seemed pleased with her advice.

“Stay in the back. There’s no need to be at the forefront. It’s better to be scared and trembling for longevity.”

She returned to her original party after finishing her talk.

“That was quite a good conversation,” Misha commented softly, not showing much emotion.

“Hey, Misha, have you ever been scared and trembling in battle?”

“No.”

I thought as much.

Perhaps Martina’s well-intentioned advice didn’t mean much to Misha.

“But Master, do be careful. Being crushed by a Terra Dragon could be instantly fatal.”

That would leave no chance for recovery.

“I understand, I’ll remember that.”

“I’ll make sure not to get crushed either…”

Lena, with her lower defense, was particularly resolved.

“As long as you’re alive, I’ll definitely heal you.”

The carriage arrived at the entrance to the royal tomb without any accidents.

A dense forest spread before us, hiding the royal tomb.

Although there was a wide cobblestone path, the dark woods on either side suggested the presence of monsters.

“It looks like a perfect habitat for monsters.”

“My heart is racing. I’ve been wanting to fully utilize my attack magic in real combat.”
