Chapter 749. The Newborn Dungeon

"And so, I've gone and said it... Are you even listening, Lord Myne?"

During the carriage ride, the one making a big fuss to Myne was Gale, the newly appointed captain of his Clan's Knight Guard. He felt that staying behind in the almost empty clan without much work to do was a waste of his talent, so he insisted on joining the party until they arrived at their destination: a new dungeon.

Yes, their first mission, given by Faren, Sylphy's cheap father, was to explore this newly born dungeon. This mission had been assigned long ago, but at that time, the clan hadn't been established, and no one took it seriously. If no one had reminded him, Myne would have never remembered it.

As for Gale making a fuss in the carriage, it was entirely Myne's own fault. Feeling bored, he had asked Gale to tell him some interesting stories, but who would have thought that this always-serious-looking guy, once he started speaking about his past, would show no sign of stopping?

It would have been fine if his stories had some essence or interesting elements, but no, they were all very boring and soulless, making everyone feel as if they were listening to a lullaby. It was hard for everyone to keep their eyes open, let alone pay attention to the nonsense coming out of his mouth.

"Hey, Gale, I don't want to hurt your feelings, but bro, you don't have any talent for storytelling," Myne, who couldn't take it anymore, straightforwardly told the truth. This was a direct critical hit to Gale, who made a face as if abandoned by the world. But then he nodded his head, became expressionless and didn't speak afterwards.

"Phew, now it's better. I almost fell asleep," Myne said telepathically. Although he scolded Gale without hesitation, he didn't want to hurt his feelings too much, since he still had to rely on the others in the party for the clan's security work, so he could only speak to Aisha and Sylphy this way. Because they all had Fenrir's blessing, they could use it as a central hub and communicate with each other telepathically.

"We can also see that he's not good at talking nonsense like you, but you didn't have to say that right to his face. Just look at his face, you hurt his emotions very badly, I am afraid, after that, even if we beg him to tell stories or be casual with us, he is not going to do so," Aisha said softly, feeling a bit sorry for Gale. She liked this uncle, who was tough on the outside but soft on the inside, very serious about his work, but took care of everyone.

"Something is better told directly than giving others the illusion that they can continue wasting time on that and torture others," Myne disagreed with Aisha.

From his point of view, it was better to make others realise their mistakes so they didn't walk on the wrong path just because others lied to them and falsely encouraged them, simply because they didn't want to hurt the other party's feelings.

However, for those double-faced individuals, it already wastes that person's time and energy, and possibly their future as well. He couldn't show such hypocrisy.

"By the way, how long will it take us to reach that new dungeon?" Myne asked, looking sincerely outside with a bored expression.

If it weren't for Gale, Waffle, and Ted accompanying them in the carriage, he could have found a dozen ways to pass the time with his two beautiful wives. Now he could only watch the trees outside the carriage.

"Probably half an hour. It isn't far from the capital city," Sylphy replied after thinking for a while.

"By the way, where is Ocea? I haven't seen her since the celebration party. Where did she disappear?" Aisha, who was stroking Waffle's and Ted's backs as they sat to her left and right, just remembered that a small pink flying whale in their team was missing and couldn't help but ask in confusion, making the corner of Myne's mouth twitch.

"Haven't I told you that she's under house arrest at her grandpa's house? Yesterday, because it was a big day for all of us, I took a great risk and secretly brought Ocea here since she's also a member of our family."

"As requested, her mother was already standing inside her room when I sent her back after the party ended. Let's not talk about Ocea, who probably got a beating later; I also received a dozen slaps on my buttocks and a good beating from her. God, she was so angry that time! If Ocea's grandfather hadn't come to rescue me, I would definitely not have been able to get away from her so easily."

As Myne remembered Cetus's angry face and the long water whip she held when she was torturing him, his body couldn't help but tremble in fright. He had made up his mind that next time, if he wanted to take Ocea away, he would first ask her permission.

Damn it, she even took revenge on me for Ocea being able to enter the game! What does that have to do with me? She should go to that damn merchant who was behind all of this instead of me! Just wait, after she returns from the mission, I'll show her who's the boss! I still owe her a good date. Once my dick enters inside her, let's see if she still dares to play dominant before me! I'll slap her buttocks so hard that she'll beg for mercy!

Just thinking about those exciting things, the corner of Myne's lips couldn't help but reveal an evil smirk, leaving both girls confused, wondering why he, who was cursing a moment ago, was now smiling for no reason.

...

"So this is the newly born dungeon, huh? It looks quite ordinary. Why is the father-in-law making such a fuss about it? It's not like some kind of world-destroying monsters would rush out of it if it wasn't cleared before the deadline," Myne said, yawning with a hint of complaint in his voice.

If it wasn't for his girls, whose requests he can't dare refuse, there's no way he, who plays with abyssal gods and other-worldly threats, would waste his precious time on this type of low-level mission that any noob can do.

"Myne, before we go in, there's one thing I'd like to caution you about. It's true that a newly spawned Dungeon would overwhelmingly be easier than other dungeons, but that's because there are fewer floors compared to the rest of the dungeons. However, the monsters or demons inside the dungeon might not be as weak as you're thinking," Aisha said with a solemn look on her face, forcing Myne to look at her with an expression that seemed to say, "Are you kidding me?"

After hearing from Aisha, this time it was Sylphy who started talking with a serious expression.

"It isn't just that; there's this case that happened in the past about a newly spawned dungeon..."

"And what? Can you please stop pausing mid-sentence and finish it in one go? I don't like this bad habit of playing riddles with me," Myne looked at Sylphy with an angry expression.

"Aah, I'm sorry. About the dungeon, and how it was spawned... Do you know anything about the reason?" Sylphy, as if she didn't hear Myne's complaint, changed the topic, continuing to create a mysterious atmosphere, making Myne so irritated that he wanted to drag her behind the bushes and teach her a good lesson.

"If I'm not mistaken, huge mana will seep through ruins, caves, or cracks in the ground, and if you set a huge mana stone, or if one forms naturally—which everyone calls the core—the mana stone would collect the mana from its surroundings, and that changes the environment, which then leads to demons or monsters being born. Then that leads to the creation of a Dungeon. I know it, what's next?" Myne impatiently replied.

"Right, something like that. Now, try imagining what that means?" Sylphy suddenly lowered her voice and said mysteriously.

"What it means? It means my ass! Please, honey, can you come to the point? You're wasting our time now. Don't forget we've left the clan in June, Ayri, Amy, and your mother's hands, and to tell the truth, I don't have much confidence in any of them; they're more troublemakers and order-followers, not someone who's good at management," Myne said while rubbing his forehead.

"Sigh, you're really no fun, can't you just play along for a moment instead of continuously causing trouble?" Sylphy finally lost her mood to play mysterious. She rolled her eyes in annoyance at Myne before continuing.

"I just wanted to say that since this Dungeon had just spawned recently, there might be a possibility that a high-level demon or devil could be inside at this moment, maintaining this dungeon."

"That's it?"

After waiting for a few moments and seeing that Sylphy had no intention of talking further, Myne looked at her confusedly and asked.

"Yes, that's it," Sylphy nodded with an innocent expression.

"Tonight, we need to discuss something seriously, just you and me," Myne came in front of Sylphy, poking his finger at her nose, and spoke with a deadly serious expression. After wasting his time and patience, in the end, what she revealed was nothing but pure nonsense.
