Chapter 30: Child of Nameless God vs Child of Shadow God-1
After around 30 minutes, Brian wrote the last words in his notebook. He smiled in satisfaction as all his students were very good at private combat. Except, Alaric was weaker than the rest, but it wasn't a big matter, because as far as he assessed Alaric's technique and the way Alaric fought, he was improving time and again. Indeed, he had huge potential even if he was just a slave.
However, it was really bitter. What if Alaric had been born into a different family? Now he would probably hold another spot, even rivaling the children of legendary clans.
He sighed and then applauded to draw the students' attention.
"Everyone! Gather here. Now I'll arrange a private exercise for each of you. Listen to my words carefully."
As the professor was about to speak, Phyllis spoke up with a polite voice.
"Sir, I have a suggestion."
The professor frowned for a moment before gesturing for Phyllis to step forward with her suggestion.
With a sly grin, she turned her attention to Alaric for a moment and said,
"I think one person shouldn't be here. He doesn't have the right to stand here and learn with us."
The professor frowned deeply and let out a breath. He knew that, somehow, such things would happen anyway. Yet his expression shifted from discomfort to surprise when he heard Phyllis's next words.
"I mean, right now the slave can't stand here, but if he shows his value and power… nobody would refuse him. Not that I have a problem with his low status, but I think everyone else in the academy would. Moreover, we also want to know what kind of summoned creature he has. Anyway, he's already accomplished the hardest challenge of the gods."
"If he could prove it… he could handle troubles in the academy… discontent from everyone. Even his reputation would improve, more or less."
"Sure, my opinion is good for my classmate."
The professor lightly pressed his temples. To be honest, what Phyllis said was true… However, Alaric needed time… he trusted that if the fight happened in three months, everything would go the best way.
Perhaps he would buy time for Alaric. Unluckily, before he could say anything, a second voice interfered with his thoughts.
"I agree with Phyllis's method. She's really a good friend to have foresight like that."
"We should start right now… I think this match should be shown publicly to all the students in the academy."
Alaric nodded lightly and replied.
The professor grimaced for a moment before asking in an uncertain voice,
"Are you sure?"
Alaric nodded.
The professor let out a deep breath and said,
"Alright, first, we need to find a proper opponent… a normal classmate will match you."
Phyllis said.
"Sir, I recommend myself for this match. I'll be the perfect opponent for him. The child of the Nameless God will need a special opponent."
Alaric stepped forward and answered,
"I have no objection to her suggestion, Sir."
The professor looked at both with a tired face. If Phyllis fought with someone like Dana, or other children of gods, he would have no objection, but Alaric was different.
Alaric had no chance against Phyllis. He had already imagined the scene of Alaric losing in front of everyone, and then his reputation, even his position in the academy, would be shaken.
A chain of domino would happen… Alaric's thought was too reckless, and with his role as a professor, he wouldn't allow such a one-sided fight to happen at any cost.
"Hahahahahahahaha!! When did you become a coward like that, Brian?"
A voice rang out across the backyard, and then, from nowhere, a shadowy figure landed nearby. He leisurely made his way to the center of the backyard, where students were gathering.
"Perry… What are you doing here? This is not your business."
…
"It's not my business? You're wrong… You and I must fulfill our roles as professors. Don't get in the way of the students' growth. They must learn that they will have to face this. You think you can protect them everywhere?"
"No!"
Brian's face darkened upon hearing that.
"Don't twist the meaning of being a professor. You and I have already seen the result of the match. Why shouldn't I stop it if I see it from the start?"
Perry just chuckled and took a badge from his pocket, showing it to everyone.
"See? The badge of a principal… So now I'm your higher-up.''
''Let's begin the match. We'll move to the arena, where all students can watch."
"Thank you for helping us, sir." Phyllis quickly walked over and bowed to show her sincerity. However, beneath her polite face, countless thoughts and plans were concealed. In reality, she had arranged all this—this professor was a member of her clan. She had asked him for help.
Well, however, there were two things beyond her predictions.
First, Alaric agreed to this match as if he truly believed he could defeat her.
Second, Brian's firm stance in disagreeing with the match.
She hoped Alaric would refuse the battle and beg the professor to stop the match, and then her professor would arrive, use the badge, and force the match to occur.
And, then she would see the slave's despair face.
But it wasn't a big deal. Either way, her plan had succeeded.

"Sigh… I didn't expect that muscular bitch was already planning for this match to go smoothly… Guess she really wants to beat me in front of everyone in the academy."
Alaric cracked his neck to relax while watching the area where students—and even some professors—were gathering.
"Are you sure about this?" Brian stood next to Alaric, asking.
Alaric nodded, replying with unnecessary politeness.
"Sir, I'm totally fine."
Brian sighed.
"No need to act polite. Keep your manners average. I don't mind."
After saying a few more things, he finally left the arena.
"It's weird… He should've hated me, but instead, he actually cared. Why? I'm cursed by demon king. No way someone like him would… Unless my curse works in some special way I don't know… or maybe he has hidden intentions."
''Sigh'' He quickly shook off his current concern and looked at his opponent.
