Chapter 59: The Bribe Wasn’t Sweet Enough…
(Celia’s POV)
Atlas: “Hm… Yes, this would get most Higher Beings to join your guild.” She said after finishing a large portion of Level Up Crystals.
Celia: “Well, it has worked out very well so far.” I reply with a nod.
Atlas: “But if you wish for me to join, Celia, you must do something for me first.” She said with a serious tone.
Celia: “…”
Damn… I was hoping that my bribery would be enough for a long while. Giving people strength is a good method of gaining their loyalty, but this method won’t work to recruit players in the later stages of the game. So… I guess that I should get used to doing other things for them to join.
Celia: “What do you need?” I ask with a curious tone.
Atlas: “I have a few enemies, which I would like your help in killing. Don’t worry, each of them is beyond evil, and killing them shouldn’t go against your morals.” She answered.
Celia: “Enemies? I recall you mentioning that to one of your maids earlier.” I reply with a thinking pose.
Atlas: “The two neighboring kingdoms to Lem are very annoying. Each is brutally run, with the rights of their citizens being… them not having any rights at all.” She replied.
Celia: “They’re that bad?” I reply with a raised eyebrow.
Atlas: “Very. Which is why that a decent portion of my people… are actually those that have escaped from their original kingdoms.” She added.
Hm… It makes sense. On the way here, I didn’t see anyone really going to the kingdoms next to Lem. I don’t actually know much about this world, after all.
Celia: “Okay, I destroy those kingdoms for you. Can you join right now, though?” I request.
Atlas: “You seem to be one that doesn’t lie to other females, or betray them… so, sure.” She agreed.
Celia: “Alright. I’ll go uphold my end of this deal. If you need anything, just contact me through the guild interface thingy.” I say before leaving, somehow resisting the urge to rub the cute wolf girl’s cute little head.
A Little Bit Later.
To not be bogged down by endless messages, I only gave a few people in my guild access to messaging me. I gave access to those that I think will help me a lot in this game, such as Crea, Marin, Jen, Jessica, etc. Atlas won’t be of any help to me, but she is cute, so I let her message me, anyway.
Shortly, I soon arrived at the first kingdom that I was supposed to destroy. Of course, so that I didn’t end up killing the wrong kingdom, I had asked Atlas to give me directions to both of them. An accidental genocide is far worse than an intentional genocide, after all.
Faith: “Are you going to kill all the people living in those two kingdoms?” She asked with a curious tone.
Celia: “No. I will just kill the nobles, and anyone else that I sense is slightly evil. This will kill the kingdom, but not most of the people. Atlas didn’t ask me to murder the entire populace of these kingdoms, you know.” I deny.
Faith: “Good. Well, have fun. Unbeknownst to you, but whenever you kill something, I get stronger. So, in truth, I don’t really care if you kill innocents.” She replied with a slightly evil laugh.
Celia: “…”
Ignoring the newly evil girl in my head, I took to destroying the kingdom that I was now floating above. Don’t worry, I will make sure that no one innocent will die! If I kill a bunch of good people, how could I face my wives and family? That being said, let the slaughter begin!
