Chapter 53: Finding the Last Woman.
(Celia’s POV)
Oddly, the last player was decently far away from the city. Flying over to where I detected her, I noticed that it was a somewhat swampy area. On a solid patch of land, was the woman, and a few other people as well.
From above, it was very easy to notice that the woman wasn’t in any good shape whatsoever. Bound to a tree, she was trapped in a makeshift camp.
The ones that captured her were all male, but even more than that… they were players as well. What gives? Landing, I faced the four male players, slightly confused.
Strange Male Player: “It worked!” He happily exclaimed.
Celia: “What worked?” I ask.
Strange Male Player: “You’re with that powerful guild, right? We figured that if we kidnapped another female player, then someone from that guild will show up to find and recruit her.” He answered.
Celia: “For what purpose did you do this?”
Jessica: “They want you to give them items and other things. They kept repeating it over and over again…” She answered for the men.
Other Male Player: “That’s right! Though it is very early into the game, my group is very powerful. Unless you want to die, just hand over some useful items. As someone from that guild, you should have something good on you, correct?” He added, them all drawing their weapons.
Ah, so this was a trap set for my guild, huh? I get the idea; I do. But the members of this little group are all fools. Do they not understand how the guilds are ranked? Even if the weakest of my guild showed up here, these men wouldn’t have been able to do anything to them at all.
Slash!
Faster than their current abilities could perceive, I had cut off the heads of the four men. No blood got on me, and I didn’t even bat an eye. Regardless of who they were, killing them shouldn’t be a problem to me now, or even in the future.
Cut!
Jessica: “Thanks! My name is Jessica, what’s yours?” She asked after I cut apart the rope that was binding her to the tree.
Celia: “Celia, and I am the leader of that specific guild that they mentioned. Anyway, do you want to join?” I ask in reply.
Jessica: “…What’s the merit for me to do so?” She replied.
With a slight sigh, as I have been having to do this a lot, I brought out the standard issue bribing kit for my guild. Munching a bunch of those level up crystals down, the woman soon agreed to join my guild.
Celia: “You need a safe place to evolve, and I recommend my estate to do so.” I advise.
Jessica: “Can you carry me? Those four had tied me to that tree for five days straight… so my strength is very nill at the moment.” She requested.
Celia: “Hm… I don’t know. I am a married woman, so doing something like that might be too much.” I say with a thinking pose.
Jessica: “Oh? That’s great, then! I am married as well. Now this won’t be weird! I am truly just weak, and, as a future friend, I ask that you help me get to your estate.” She said with a serious tone.
Lying to a Higher Being was pointless, so I knew that this woman was fully telling me the truth. As such, though she wasn’t my wife, I carried her like a princess.
It goes without saying, but it took a while for Crea to wake up. By the time that I flew back to the city, parts of it were on fire. I had an idea as to why, and I easily confirmed it. Jessica was curious, but I told her to just ignore it. No fury worse than a freed slave(‘s) woma(e)n(‘s) scorned, it seems…
