Chapter 811: Thank you...
Chapter 811: Thank you...
Jian chuckled at his words.
"Yeah, yeah."
He moved back further. The elves kneeling around the Tree of Fate all looked up when they heard Kyle's words.
They were already astonished to discover that this man was Kyle, the one rumored to have died when the Forsaken Land turned into nothingness. He saved countless lives, but in the end, no one came to his aid when his soul was trapped in that darkness. Just recently, he returned as someone who had ascended to the Celestial rank. This news was currently the most talked-about topic throughout the entire universe.
Now, upon hearing his words, the elves exchanged glances filled with hope.
Kyle, the person who had ascended to a rank that no one else could achieve, just claimed that their guardian could be saved. Was it possible? Only time would tell, as the elves fervently hoped for his success.
Queen Ariana and all the supreme-rank elves standing behind her also held their breath, just like the still alive members of their race who had survived the battle that had taken place on their planet. Their eyes were fixed on the bronze-skinned man.
Alec and Asher simply smiled at the tall man, ready to assist if he needed it.
Another elven figure, watching the scene from the shadows in the distance, hoped for Kyle's success. It was Ronan. After Nine and Yue had sent him to a distant place far from the elven planet, Samara forgot about him. He knew she would call him soon, and he had to obey due to the dark chains binding his soul, but he had finally decided that he would end his life this time.
He had come here to apologize to the Queen for failing her and for failing his race. But as he watched his people grieve, he hid in the shadows and couldn't bring himself to step forward.
Kyle's right hand remained steady on the Tree of Fate's dried-up trunk as he poured his spiritual energy into it.
Due to him using so much power, the teardrop symbol on the back of his neck trembled, causing his appearance to shift. His hair turned silver, sparkling in the light. His eyes became a bright shade of green, and his bronze skin transformed into an icy pale color, surrounded by a dim blue glow.
His glowing eyes turned white as he tried to invoke the natural law of time on the Tree of Fate to reverse time solely for it.
It didn't work as he had anticipated, but he didn't stop pouring his energy into the tree. He could sense the dim consciousness of the tree responding to his efforts.
The land around the tree trembled, and everything nearby began to freeze as icy flames erupted from his body, enveloping the massive tree. They started consuming the dark energy and aura of death that had seeped into its body from the fierce battles that had ravaged the elven planet.
Jian moved back even further, rolling his eyes. He shrugged his feet one by one when the ice tried to creep up his body.
"Don't tell me this time you want to freeze me into an ice statue, quite literally?"
He began to float, and everyone followed suit. The elven Queen watched Kyle, holding both of
her hands together in a silent plea. The others behind her were also tense.
The air quivered and Kyle finally lifted his hand when a familiar faint voice echoed in his mind. He couldn't comprehend what the voice was saying as it was too faint, but he knew it belonged to the Tree of Fate.
He glanced at the glowing fragment in his other hand and stepped into the icy flames surrounding the tree in front of everyone.
Behind him, massive icicles erupted from the ground, surging forth with intense speed to envelop the tree in a dome of ice.
The sharp, glistening formations created a breathtaking web that caused everyone to move further back. Each icicle sparkled in the light, reflecting the otherworldly power that had been unleashed.
Alec rubbed his hands together. He wasn't feeling cold, but he knew that all those below divine rank were trembling right now.
"His icy flames have grown stronger."
Asher nodded his head.
"Yeah, a lot compared to past. To think he could become so powerful in such a short time is nothing short of unbelievable if no one had witnessed it with their own eyes."
Jian arrived behind the duo and quickly squeezed into the space between them, placing his arms over their shoulders. He recalled the time he met his future self in the Lost Treasure Tomb. The handsome, tall man who wasn't as tall as the current Kyle but was taller than his current self.
"I have seen the proof that I will be an even more powerful person in the future-strong enough to travel through time."
Alec and Asher were surprised to hear his words and wanted to ask about the proof the red- haired man was talking about, but he stopped them with a shake of his head.
"Don't ask. Some things aren't meant to be shared. Just focus on yourselves; after all, who knows if you two will share the same future as me and become the best."
Two punching sounds echoed in the air as Alec and Asher struck Jian to wipe the smug smirk off his face before kicking him away to eliminate the annoyance. Jian clutched his stomach and raised a trembling finger in their direction with wide eyes.
"You... you two! I will take revenge! Just you wait for a few more years!"
He huffed but backed off, realizing he was alone against two. He needed to convince Kyle to join him and take them down!
James could only watch their interaction with a speechless expression. They were witnessing such a scene, yet these three were busy fighting each other.
Meanwhile, Kyle entered the tangled dry branches of the Tree of Fate. He ventured deeper to locate the spot from which the tree's core had been torn. A familiar voice echoed in his mind once again, but like before, he couldn't comprehend it.
His eyes narrowed as he spotted a round, empty space amid a cluster of branches. It appeared as though someone had roughly broken the branches around that spot.
Without hesitation, he approached the empty spot and examined it closely before carefully placing the glowing fragment in his hand into the empty space.
He poured more of his spiritual energy into the dry branches surrounding the fragment, and a faint movement finally occurred. One of the branches shifted and attached itself to the core. Then another, and then another.
"Good."
He murmured with a look of relief, aware that in such a short time he had expended a lot of his spiritual energy and wouldn't be able to supply the tree with more for a long time.
Kyle moved back, his flames shifting to clear a path for him to pass as he watched the branches moving to attach themselves to the glowing half-fragment of the core.
His remaining spiritual energy seeped into the tree, and he even used his divine energy to accelerate the process.
His spiritual energy was different and purer than the rest, making it more effective, but that didn't mean he couldn't ask the others for help with their spiritual energy.
With that thought, he disappeared and reappeared above the dome encircling the tree. Instantly, all eyes turned to him. The elves sucked in deep breaths when they witnessed his
true appearance.
Kyle loud voice echoed before the weak elves became affected by his presence.
"Supply the icy dome with your spiritual energy! As much as you can!"
Jian was the first to release his spiritual energy, as if he had been waiting for the man to say the word. It surged from his body, racing straight toward the dome.
After him, the rest didn't hesitate to follow what they had been asked to do. The elves moved
forward and poured all their spiritual energy into the dome. This small sacrifice was nothing if they could save the tree.
Kyle nodded when he noticed everyone following his words. His fingers trembled as he drew a
vitality array above the dome with a speed no one could follow. The only thing they could see was the golden symbols that began to materialize on the ice.
He paused when he was done, and the symbols disappeared into the ice. Everyone waited with bated breath, and a while later, a familiar voice echoed in the air; this time, it was heard by
everyone on the planet.
["Thank you..."]
The elves cried out when they felt the connection with the familiar voice. Even without knowing, they understood it belonged to the Tree of Fate.
Kyle hummed and waved his hand and the ice around the tree shattered into particles. As the
ice shattered, the dead branches of the tree surged outward in a grand display.
"Your welcome."
The ground trembled beneath the tree, and a warm, brilliant white light radiated from its
body, illuminating the surroundings.
Color began to return to its branches, and as the icy particles floating in the air dissipated, countless small vibrant green leaves slowly started to emerge on its woody surface.
