Chapter 434: A Clear Divide in Status (Part 2)
"It's fine as long as it hasn't affected anything..."
"Xin'an, did you seriously get photographed...?" Just as she spoke, the recently closed door of the lounge was pushed open, and Kim Yerin walked in excitedly. Halfway through her sentence, she suddenly realized the atmosphere seemed a bit off, and her voice grew quieter. When all the members had come in, she asked cautiously, "What happened?"
Bae Juhyun also put away her excited smile. Upon learning Liu Xin'an had been photographed, she was indeed quite thrilled and happy about it.
But looking at the atmosphere in the lounge now, it seems it has nothing to do with excitement or happiness...
What's going on?
She looked at Liu Xin'an with doubts, her eyes clearly questioning.
Liu Xin'an shrugged innocently: "Someone from SBS made a mistake and came to apologize to me."
"Eh?"
Everyone froze, then collectively looked at Seong Taekyon.
After Seong Taekyon gave a brief explanation, the group showed expressions of sudden realization.
Bae Juhyun moved closer to Liu Xin'an, soothing her boyfriend's dissatisfaction softly.
Her careful demeanor made Liu Xin'an feel amused and helpless; he wasn't the type to hold grudges over petty issues.
He gave out the punishment he deemed fit and naturally wouldn't continue to fuss over it.
"I'm fine, really. I'm planning to sneak away now. Taekyon, please look after Juhyun."
"Yes, that's something I should do anyway. You didn't drive here, right? I'll send someone to give you a ride."
"No need, I'll just walk back. I haven't really taken in Seoul's night views properly yet."
With a smile, Liu Xin'an gestured with his hand, and after speaking, he winked at Bae Juhyun, who was looking at him wistfully.
Bae Juhyun indeed felt reluctant — she had been busily preparing for various music festivals these past days, sometimes too exhausted to reply to Liu Xin'an's messages, just collapsing into bed and sleeping off.
Even seeing Liu Xin'an today was a rare occasion, as they hadn't met for several days.
This busy schedule would continue until early January, meaning such a lifestyle wasn't ending for about a week.
"Contact me when you get home."
She couldn't voice any willful words because there was still much work waiting for her; in the end, Bae Juhyun could only remind Liu Xin'an gloomily.
Upon receiving Liu Xin'an's definite response, her face finally lit with a beautiful smile again.
This recent incident didn't stir much trouble; in fact, his appearance at the music festival brought quite a few CP fans back to both him and Bae Juhyun.
But mistakes warrant punishment, even when they result in something positive in the end.
This little episode didn't cause any significant impact on Liu Xin'an's life.
Liu Xin'an attended every subsequent festival, not missing even one, watching them live each time.
Fortunately, these TV stations didn't commit foolish acts like SBS did.
Still, perhaps due to SBS's mishap, KBS and MBC became much more cautious in this regard.
On December 31st, during MBC's music festival, the main director even stepped down to ask Liu Xin'an if he wouldn't mind acting as an MC before Bae Juhyun and the others performed.
Though Liu Xin'an wasn't one to be unreasonable, he was angry with SBS largely because they had done something excessive without his consent.
So when faced with MBC's main director's invitation, he was first taken aback, then showed a surprised expression.
"Me, the MC?"
"Yes, because your relationship with Irene has been widely admired this year. Many viewers, after knowing you'd be at the venue watching Irene's performance, became intensely curious about your thoughts."
"Uh... so what exactly should I do?"
"Simply mention to the audience that Red Velvet is up next and express your anticipation of their performance."
This wasn't an unreasonable request, and the director's genuine words meant Liu Xin'an wasn't particularly resistant.
See what it means to stand out decisively.
After thinking for a moment, Liu Xin'an ultimately didn't refuse.
The SBS incident truly was an oversight, and their presumption made Liu Xin'an quite unhappy.
Yet, one undeniable fact was the higher number of supportive voices from fans rooting for both him and Bae Juhyun compared to opposing or merely curious folks.
Though it's true that showcasing too much affection in typical settings can annoy fans, appearing appropriately amidst fans' celebrations to spice up the hot stage remains an undeniably correct approach.
"In that case, of course."
Seeing Liu Xin'an agree, the director smiled warmly and extended one hand.
After Liu Xin'an cooperatively shook hands, the director casually added a note.
"It's roughly a one-minute task; it won't take much of your time."
"Alright, let me get prepared... oh, and one more thing, could you not tell Irene and the others about it?"
The director wasn't much older, understanding that Liu Xin'an wanted to give Bae Juhyun and the others a pleasant surprise.
Without any hesitation, he readily agreed to this small request.
"No problem at all, so I'll leave it to you afterward, Mr. Liu Xin'an."
"Sure."
...
After finishing his conversation with the director, Liu Xin'an smoothly arrived at the entrance of Bae Juhyun and the others' lounge.
