Cave Refuge

Chapter 737 Fishing Plan_2

And Dong Tianyu naturally came to learn some relevant knowledge on the internet, although the information published online was all extracted through interrogation from various Different Dimension Invaders, it was after all theoretical knowledge. While indeed very important, its practicality still needed to be confirmed through actual combat.

Take, for instance, the Sacrifice Array that Dong Tianyu had successfully utilized; it seemed that as long as the sacrifice was successful, it would invariably result in the coordinates of a treasure worth several times the value of the Sacrificial Offering.

Theoretically, as long as one reaches the location of the coordinates, it is certain that they can find the treasure containing a great amount of Plane Origin according to the information fed back after the sacrifice.

However, no one can be sure whether the treasure is covered in dust and neglected, or if it has been found and treasured by the creatures of the original Plane.

If it is the former scenario, naturally, everyone is happy, and the sacrificer can easily obtain the treasure.

But if it's the latter case, then to get the treasure, one must pay a price, and the one who received the treasure coordinates from the sacrifice must weigh the gains and losses of acquiring that treasure.

If it is judged that the treasure can be obtained without spending too much, that's fine, but if one is unlucky and encounters heavily guarded natives, then the treasure coordinates they got from the sacrifice would just become a pile of worthless paper.

Of course, if there are other ways to obtain that treasure, it's not bad, especially since according to the information given by the Blue Star Plane Will, they will only need to bring the treasure back to Blue Star; Blue Star would then absorb all of the Otherworldly Plane Origin within the treasure, before infusing its own Plane Origin into the treasure.

Though it may seem that there is no change in the treasure with one going in and another coming out, for the Plane Will, as long as the treasure remains within Blue Star and does not leave, no matter who holds the treasure, and whether it is damaged or completely destroyed, it isn't important to the Blue Star Plane Will.

After all, as long as it is within Blue Star, the Plane Origin contained within the treasure always belongs to Blue Star; as the blunt old saying goes, "the meat is rotten in the pot; no matter how you eat it, it's not a waste."

Therefore, for this reason, as long as one can bring back something from a Different Dimension, regardless of what it is, the Plane Will will provide a reward.

It's just that if the thing brought back contains only a small amount of Plane Origin, the Blue Star Plane Will won't offer any significant feedback. Of course, even if a single item contains a small amount of Plane Origin, but if one carries enough of it, the Plane Will would still pay attention and favor it.

This time, Dong Tianyu happened to have lesser luck, or rather, Dong Tianyu and his group of invaders all belonged to the less lucky bunch.

After all, from the time they first arrived, it was clear from the surrounding environment that this Plane could very well be on the brink of collapse.

Whether it's from the apocalyptic ruins full of scars that meet the eye, or from testing the soil on the ground, where the quantity of Plane Origin contained in the soil has nearly been depleted,

it can be concluded that this Plane is about to collapse.

It was just as Dong Tianyu had speculated; the condition of this Plane had reached the edge of collapse.

Here, just like the former Blue Star, it was continuously invaded by Otherworldly Creatures. Because the natives were not united, a large amount of items containing Plane Origin were plundered and taken away by the relentless waves of Otherworldly Invaders.

With the constant depletion of Plane Origin, the various resources of the Plane kept dwindling, the living environment gradually deteriorated, and the size of the Plane itself had shrunk to the edge of collapse.

When the Plane Will was reduced to a desperate state, the originally slumbering Plane Will could naturally no longer remain dormant. Upon awakening and finding that its Origin had become extremely scarce, it immediately communicated with all Living Spirits in the Plane.

And spoke candidly about the outcome that all creatures of the Plane would face if things continued as they were.

Once all the creatures knew what outcome they would face, the original inhabitants who harbored their own thoughts became thoroughly panicked.

After all, whether it's for power or wealth, everything has to be based on the premise of being alive. If the Plane they live in collapses, no matter if they hold renowned status or are Emperors standing at the peak of power.

Those fortunate enough found ways to flee to other Planes, clinging to survival.

Those less lucky escaped before the Plane Collapse, only to be captured by creatures of other Planes and turned into slaves or playthings.

But the vast majority would perish alongside their collapsing Plane.

In a bid to survive and to save the Plane they depended on for life, they united in spirit after communicating with the Plane Will and devised a strategic plan for salvation.

This plan was actually quite simple: through the Plane Will, aside from reserving a portion of the Plane Origin for the survival environment of each stronghold, the remaining Plane Origin in other areas was gathered and infused into many treasures.

Due to the mechanics of the Sacrifice Array, concealing these treasures was nearly impossible, so it was decided to distribute them among the various strongholds, using the last of the living forces within the Plane to defend them.

Thus, other invaders, upon entering the Plane, would be unable to extract a significant amount of Plane Origin from other areas, and if they wished to obtain Plane Origin, they must attack those remaining strongholds; only by breaching these strongholds could they plunder the items rich with Plane Origin.

And those strongholds, which concentrated the remaining life force of the entire Plane, were not to be easily overcome.

If the invaders actively launched assaults on the strongholds guarding the treasures, the strategic fishing plan would be deemed successful.

The biggest difference between a wakeful Plane Will and a dormant one lies in the control of the Plane Origin.

When the Plane Will is dormant, all Plane Origins act their parts, belonging to inanimate objects.

However, once the Plane Will awakens, it can control the Plane Origin within all items on the Plane.

It could extract all the Plane Origin contained within the treasures (limited to those born within this Plane), turning previously invaluable treasures into mere ornamental objects.

It could also infuse Plane Origin into these ornamental objects, granting them special abilities and converting previously useless decorations into treasures with Special Abilities.

Therefore, as long as the Otherworldly Invaders suffer casualties or item damage while attacking the strongholds, the Plane Will can instantly absorb and transfer all the scattered Plane Origin.

And if casualties occur among the native defenders of the strongholds, the Plane Will would also absorb all the released Plane Origin.

This is the advantage of defending on home soil, yet this approach has both positives and negatives.

The advantage is that in the majority of scenarios, it minimizes the amount of Plane Origin that the Otherworldly Plunderers can seize after entering the Plane.

Moreover, as long as the defenders hold the strongholds against Otherworldly Invaders' assaults, even substantial casualties would result in no loss but gain for the Plane Will.

Of course, the downsides of this plan are also evident. Because all the Plane Origin is concentrated in certain areas and items, it causes the Plane to always be in a state of minimal size.

In such a state, not only are most areas within the Plane extremely harsh, but resources generated within the Plane also become extremely scarce.

For the native inhabitants of the Plane, this is very unfriendly, and regardless of choosing a technological or fantasy approach, they are fundamentally limited by a lack of resources.

More critically, because all remaining Plane Origin is concentrated in certain areas and items, the Plane could suffer a fatal blow if the strongholds fall to the Otherworldly Invaders, or the treasures rich with Plane Origin placed within the citadels are stolen by Otherworldly Creatures.
