Cave Refuge

Even though there weren't many people, they couldn't invite outsiders to live here. After discussing with Mr. Thompson, Dong Tianyu wasn't planning on informing any relatives who did not arrive about their situation.

The situation is similar to Dong Tianyu bringing his parents into the refuge center, except that living in Dong Tianyu's refuge center is even more severe as elders are now in an unfamiliar environment.

Living in Dong Tianyu's refuge center has them living in isolation, but given the choice, Dong Tianyu respects his parents' wishes.

Even without the system, according to the initial resource reserves, the refuge center could support a family of three through various natural disasters for about eight to ten years. Although the end result is unknown, their life in this process would be very comfortable.

By this point, the three families could not imagine that this newly-transformed refuge center was actually more comfortable than the original underground refuge center where they lived for half a year.

The only parts damaged by the electromagnetic pulse were electronic components. For professionals, repairing these things is straightforward.

The reason they replaced instead of repaired in the past is that replacement definitely meant a new set of things, which was not only convenient but could also earn more money.

Repairing, on the other hand, was time-consuming and labor-intensive and didn't bring much in the way of labor fees. Therefore, in most cases, it wasn't that they didn't know how to fix things, but that replacing brought in higher profits, so they always advised customers to replace parts directly.

At this point, all the manufactured electronic components were damaged. If they wanted to use electric appliances normally, they had to rely on manual repair, so when Mr. Right proposed to pay in cigarettes, those old smokers readily accepted the deal.

The situation in the office building refuge center was much better than that in the subway station refuge center after it was rebuilt. Because of the large area and few residents, many public areas were set up.

As the three families were eating hot pot and chatting, rain started to fall in the sunny sky. The Thompson family, engrossed in their meal, didn't notice.

When Dong Tianyu's second sister's daughter clung to his leg, asking to be lifted high, Dong Tianyu walked over to the window with his niece and realized that it had started raining outside.

However, the office building refuge center was already finished by now, and though it was only raining at the moment, there was still some time before the flood, so Dong Tianyu was not in a hurry. He returned to the dining table after showing his niece the scenery for a while.
