Cave Refuge

Chapter 650: After Thawing

Although the items Ye Liuyun offered were nearly equivalent to non-renewable, discontinued goods, and what Dong Tianyu gave in return could be recycled and reused, Dong Tianyu didn't lower his selling price. After a long debate, both parties compromised and finally reached an agreement.

When Ye Liuyun transferred all the ingredients Dong Tianyu offered into his Storage Space, he expressed his envy, "You're really something, always having so much stock, as if you own a private farm."

Hearing this, Dong Tianyu didn't argue but admitted candidly, "You guessed right, I do have a personal farm."

Seeing Dong Tianyu admitting so straightforwardly, Ye Liuyun didn't quite believe it. He thought Dong Tianyu was intentionally hiding the true source of the goods, hence the playful admission.

"Are you leaving anytime soon?"

Although unsure why Dong Tianyu, no matter which base he was at, would often go out, this time Dong Tianyu had stayed several days continuously at the base without leaving, which aroused Ye Liuyun's curiosity.

"Not sure, the weather has been changing rapidly these days. I'll wait and see until it goes back to normal."

In reality, Dong Tianyu could be anywhere, but because he needed to enter the Cave daily for martial practice, it was inconvenient to do so in camps with many acquaintances, whereas, in remote uninhabited areas, he could enter the Cave at any time.

After the trade was completed and he left the Taylor family's place, the ice accumulated on the ground had not yet melted, but the bitterly cold air outside had gradually warmed, indicating that it was only a matter of time before the ice would melt.

As Dong Tianyu walked home, considering what to eat later, the ice under his feet, initially very solid, unexpectedly shattered like brittle crust under his light step. If Dong Tianyu hadn't reacted quickly, he might have fallen straight into the hole in the ice ahead.

However, the ice breaking under his feet seemed to be just a precursor. Subsequently, across the entire street, the ice, a second ago solid, now crumbled easily upon contact. All survivors who were previously chatting on the ice fell into it the next second, with nobody spared.

However, the depth of the water on the street was at most a meter, so although there was some initial panic falling into the ice holes, because they could quickly touch the ground with their feet, most survivors didn't panic too much, merely getting completely soaked.

Father Dong and Mother Dong, who were chatting with others on the street, were also not spared. When Dong Tianyu flew over on his Flying Swords, both were already drenched.

Seeing Dong Tianyu on the Flying Swords, other people on the street merely glanced curiously before heading home to change without further ado.

Although Awakeners were still relatively few, due to the internet's restoration and their myriad unique talents acquired, discussions about them online were incredibly vibrant. In reality, although Martial Artists were numerous, their online presence seemed less as compared to that of the Awakeners.

That was why, after people had gained a detailed understanding of the Awakeners, encountering an Awakener with a special ability nearby ceased to be a curiosity, even though Dong Tianyu's display of enviable flying ability might have gathered crowds under normal circumstances.

However, as everyone was drenched and standing in bone-chilling ice water, nobody was in the mood for pain or curiosity, thus naturally avoiding any such gathering.

Dong Tianyu expertly moved to his parents on the Flying Swords, then used a Spell to enlarge the swords and pulled them from the water onto it.

He then took his parents back to their villa's backyard. Just as Dong Tianyu maneuvered the Flying Swords towards the entrance of the Companion Spiritual Treasure, Father Dong suddenly spoke, "Let's go back to the villa, enter through the second-floor window."

Heeding his father's words without understanding his intention, Dong Tianyu intuitively stopped the Flying Swords by the second-floor window.

Although the window was still shut, the glass panes had shattered during the previous day's fierce winds, making it very easy to open from the outside.

The three entered the villa through the window. Upstairs was in disarray; their rooftop had not withstood the consecutive attacks of lightning and hail and, although not utterly collapsed, now visibly allowed light through several punctures.

Thus, when the temperature rose and the hail melted, the resulting water dripped directly indoors through those punctures.

The situation on the first floor was even worse; the melting of the ice on the ground did not mean the water had receded, so the first floor was still flooded.

After circling the villa and finding no dry and comfortable environment to rest, Father Dong's face gradually showed embarrassment; hence, Mother Dong, to give Father Dong a way out, instructed Dong Tianyu:
