Cave Refuge

Chapter 641: Accompanying

After hearing the description from Zachary, everyone in the courtyard sensed the strangeness of the matter, and they also tried to recall their thoughts just now, but when they recalled the situation, they found their minds were blank.

"Why don't we have any issues looking at your sunglasses now?"

"When I hold the Magic Mirror, it's the same as when you're wearing sunglasses. The effect of being overlooked will immediately disappear; otherwise, if that effect still existed, how could you have attracted Master Ye's attention when you came looking?"

Hearing Zachary's explanation, understanding expressions appeared on everyone's faces.

Just as Master Ye was about to invite everyone into the house to sit, Mason Hart's face suddenly turned pale in the courtyard. Zachary noticed the ghastly look on Mason's face and immediately guessed what Mason was thinking.

Before Zachary could speak, Mason, shaking, voiced his request, "Could you accompany me back home?"

Hearing Mason's request, others in the courtyard instantly understood the reason behind Mason's trembling.

Mason didn't live alone in the villa area. Just like when he had first arrived at the courtyard and invited Master Ye to his home, Mason, like Master Ye, lived with three generations of his family—his son and daughter-in-law were out working, leaving him and his spouse to look after their grandchildren.

Thinking about how Mason had been controlled by a monster's Illusion Technique when he arrived, the situation at Mason's home might be quite dire.

While Master Ye initially wanted to accompany him to check, he looked at the grandchildren in the courtyard, then at Zachary, but ultimately, he opened his mouth and said nothing.

It made sense, after all. The Thompson Family had no relationship with Mason. Although they had come at Madeline's request, they were merely here to help defend their own household, which alone was enough reason to be grateful, without asking for anything more.

Mason, seeing his actions, immediately realized that Master Ye would not accompany him, so he instinctively looked at the only young man in the courtyard. He had only just met the Thompsons today and they had helped him break free from the Illusion Technique.

This Criying out for him to risk accompanying Mason home seemed unappreciative, and since he was not familiar with Zachary, he felt that even if he asked, Zachary might not agree, so he was ready to go back alone.

Seeing Mason prepare to go alone, a conflicted expression appeared on Master Ye's face. Honestly, he had a good relationship with Mason and really wanted to accompany him, but with Madeline not at home and the Thompson family helping out, the Taylor family had no one but the grandson who had just learned to walk.

Torn between familial and friendly obligations, Master Ye struggled internally. However, even though Mason noticed Master Ye's conflicted expression, he wouldn't just idly wait here for Master Ye to make a decision.

Just as Mason was about to step out of the courtyard, Zachary suddenly said, "How about I accompany him back?"

Hearing Zachary willing to accompany Mason, the conflicted look on Master Ye's face relaxed immediately, while Mr. Thompson, standing nearby, looked at his son with a puzzled expression.

"Dad, didn't I just analyze the situation with that type of monster for you? Facing that kind of monster alone might pose a great risk, but if two people confront it together, as long as you wake your companion from the Illusion Technique's control in time, the danger isn't very high."

Standing at the door, Mason relaxed slightly upon hearing someone was willing to accompany him.

However, worried about his family's situation and unable to directly urge Zachary to hurry, he could only look at him pleadingly, hoping Zachary wouldn't waste time here and would immediately accompany him back.

Noticing Mason's pleading gaze, Zachary immediately understood and said, "Dad, you know your son's capabilities, so just wait here in peace. His home isn't too far from here. I'll go back with him."

Without waiting for Mr. Thompson to respond, Zachary immediately walked towards Mason, who, seeing Zachary's actions, immediately showed a grateful expression and assured, "Mr. Ye, Brother Thompson, don't worry, I won't let Junior Thompson come back alone later. I'll personally bring him back."

Seeing Zachary had already reached the courtyard gate and hearing Mason's promise, Mr. Thompson could only helplessly say, "Son, be careful."

Mason's home was also in this villa area, not far from Master Ye's home. It only took them two minutes to arrive at the Hart Family's doorstep at a brisk pace.

Just as Mason urgently pushed open the courtyard door, Zachary was already scanning the villa's inside with his Divine Sense. However, upon knowing the situation inside, his expression instantly darkened.
