Cave Refuge

Chapter 559: Illusionary Realm

After joining the group and reading the Offensive and Defensive Alliance Contract sent by the group leader, Dong Tianyu felt a sense of déjà vu, and now that the group had directly banned Dong Tianyu from speaking, he couldn't easily enter into this alliance.

Although Dong Tianyu had spotted the issues with the contract, he couldn't outright say there was a problem, since the issues weren't overtly visible. If the other party adhered to it, it wouldn't be considered a problem.

If Dong Tianyu directly pointed it out, the other party might accuse him of being cowardly.

So since the other side forced Dong Tianyu to mute himself and denied him the chance to speak in the group, Dong Tianyu decided to set aside the contract he had just received and pay it no heed for the time being.

Who can't use the Dragging Technique after all?

After disregarding the messages on the tablet, Dong Tianyu still used his Divine Sense to survey the current situation in these waters.

Judging from the docking area of the nearby ships, it was evident that there were about seven or eight different teams moored near the Great Whirlpool.

However, judging by the models of those warships and the races of the crewmen on board, it seemed that three fleets belonged to foreign teams, while the rest were ships of the Flower Planting Family.

Unintentionally noticing several more group chat invitations on the tablet, Dong Tianyu realized that the so-called Offensive and Defensive Alliance suggested by Fred Lewis and the members in the group were not joined by everyone. It seemed there was no lack of wise people around.

However, because of Fred Lewis's actions in the group just now, Dong Tianyu temporarily lost interest in joining other groups; although he didn't choose to decline, he also didn't accept the invitations and simply tossed the tablet aside, no longer paying attention to the messages coming in.

While Dong Tianyu was still using his Divine Sense to observe the other ships, he suddenly noticed that the Wave Rider, which had initially stopped and was stationary on the water, was gradually approaching the direction of the Great Whirlpool.

At this point, the Wave Rider was still very far from the Great Whirlpool, and under normal circumstances, the attraction from the Great Whirlpool shouldn't be able to affect the Wave Rider at all.

Upon discovering this situation, Dong Tianyu immediately withdrew his extended Divine Sense and shifted all his attention to the surroundings of the Wave Rider.

Under the detection of his Divine Sense, the Wave Rider was indeed moving towards the Great Whirlpool; although it was influenced by an external force, it wasn't due to effects of Elemental Magic or any other energy Skill. Instead, it was purely being pushed by underwater currents.

Logically, normal ocean currents wouldn't have the power to move a vessel as large as the Wave Rider, but for some reason, a strong undercurrent was indeed, unbeknownst to them, slowly pushing the Wave Rider closer to the Great Whirlpool.

After finding this situation, Dong Tianyu immediately used his Divine Sense to check on the nearby ships and discovered that those ships were experiencing the same phenomenon as the Wave Rider, all drifting unconsciously towards the Great Whirlpool.

However, when Dong Tianyu's gaze turned to the area of the Great Whirlpool, he was surprised to find that although the Wave Rider beneath him was constantly approaching the Whirlpool, visually, the distance between the Wave Rider and the Great Whirlpool hadn't closed.

Noticing this lucky discovery, Dong Tianyu felt there was a problem. He calmed down and observed the direction of the Great Whirlpool with his Divine Sense again. As he continued to channel his Divine Sense toward the direction of the Whirlpool,

the once normal distant scenery began to blur. As Dong Tianyu poured more Divine Sense into it, the scenes before his eyes, to his astonishment, started to crack.

With an increasing amount of Divine Sense being channeled, the view before Dong Tianyu's eyes became increasingly blurry.

As Dong Tianyu poured even more Divine Sense, it was as if frosted glass appeared before him, and now he could only see the general contours of the surrounding scenery, unable to discern further details.

If it were anyone else noticing their vision blurring, they might not dare to continue trying.

But as trustful of his own senses as Dong Tianyu was despite his seemingly impulsive nature, he didn't stop channeling his Divine Sense even when his vision had become what it was now.

When Dong Tianyu mobilized even more Divine Sense, the once blurry scene before him suddenly displayed cracks as if on glass, these cracks lengthening, and eventually his entire field of vision was covered with countless fractures.

Before Dong Tianyu could understand the reason behind this, perhaps due to the increasing number of fractures reaching a limit of endurance, the blurry scene shattered like a broken mirror, and its fragments scattered in the wind.

Once the blurry fragments had all disappeared, Dong Tianyu then realized that although there were several ships around the Great Whirlpool, there were not nearly as many as he had scanned with his Divine Sense just before.

His Divine Sense might have been deceived by the illusions within this Forbidden Zone just now. Only then did Dong Tianyu notice that the Wave Rider had actually entered the influence range of the Great Whirlpool, but it was still at the periphery where the Whirlpool's pull on ships wasn't too strong.
