How I miss those former experts, who truly understood the public sentiments, and genuinely proposed suggestions to the higher officials.

As for the so-called current 'experts', they spend fifty million annually researching how to sleep and would rent out their own homes when they run out of money.

Thankfully, the former experts had proposed and decided to stockpile three years' worth of grain and to set up several strategically-placed emergency supply warehouses in every city, otherwise, this great summer could not have passed so many challenging years.

Dong Tianyu began cleaning up Main Avenue from the West City to the city center of Pengville. By the time he reached the city center, the main avenue, which was once congestively filled with abandoned cars, was now supremely vacant.

Standing in the center of Pengville Plaza, Dong Tianyu also determined that the current extreme radius of his cave mansion's influence was right here under his feet. It seems that until the cave mansion is upgraded, his activity range in the city center would be restricted to this area.

The West City District of Pengville is a residential area. Daily life was very convenient in the West District in the past, but the basic supply warehouses that Dong Tianyu needed were established in the South District.

As for resources like coal, the most substantial storage is in Pengville's North District, and Pengville's only large pharmaceutical factory and medical warehouse are situated in the East District.

However, based on today's harvest, activities in the West District are enough to offset the survival points required to upgrade the cave mansion, so Dong Tianyu doesn't need to worry additionally.

The temperature at night had dropped to about minus 10 degrees. Although it was already extremely cold, it hadn't yet reached Pengville's coldest recorded temperature of around minus 20 degrees.

This temperature may not seem too extreme for the northern people, but for the warm south, it is indeed very low.

The current weather is not terrible, it's dry cold, with no snowfall. Dong Tianyu, who had planned to spend the night in a large supermarket, was surprised to find a lot of people staying overnight in there.

Even though the refugee center built from the subway station of Pengville Plaza was just nearby, these people chose not to settle in, and instead hid here.

But it makes sense, these large supermarkets usually have open space home furnishing stores which are also equipped with a fair number of beds, so under circumstances of fewer people, it's indeed more comfortable to hide in a large supermarket than to enter an underground refuge center.

Unfortunately, they do not know that the outside temperature will continue to drop. The supermarkets are barely livable for the next day or two, but what if the outside temperature drops to minus a hundred degrees? How could they live in these supermarkets then?

But what does this have to do with Dong Tianyu? If he reminds them to transfer to the underground refuge center now, they would probably think that he is attempting to take over their territory.

Thinking that he has not practiced martial arts tonight, Dong Tianyu took out the truck stored in the Shadow Space and directly decided to rest at the refuge center by driving back.

This is why Dong Tianyu was clearing vehicles along the main avenue, the truck he had stored in the Shadow Space was not destroyed by the electromagnetic pulse, so it can still be used normally now.

If we say that apart from the vehicle Dong Tianyu had prepared in advance, there isn't any other vehicle in Pengville that could have been started, remember the city is so large, and there is a dedicated center for selling car parts. So in the future, there will definitely be other cars on the road.

But these cars will certainly not be assembled in a short time. Although all the car parts are definitely complete, without mechanical help, it's quite troublesome to assemble them manually, and it's certainly not something that can be done in a day or two.

In addition to the decreasing outside temperature, Dong Tianyu believes that his truck should be a unique existence in Pengville for the time being.

After returning to the refuge center, Dong Tianyu began practicing martial arts at the Yin Yu eye position in the Hall of Longevity.

Practicing while you sleep is so comfortable, except for only being able to practice one meridian circuit at a time, there are no other downsides. There is no need to worry about making mistakes that could lead to going astray during the process.

After finishing his practice, Dong Tianyu didn't rest, he went directly down the mountain in his truck to continue his unfinished work.

After clearing Main Avenue, Dong Tianyu's next stop was Black Tortoise Market. This used to be the largest wholesale market in Pengville. Despite the convenience of online shopping today, it was still jam-packed every day.

And Dong Tianyu's goal was the market's transit warehouse.

Dong Tianyu didn't care too much about the shops in the Black Tortoise Market. Although it would be easy to break into them, how much useful stuff could be in these shops that were displayed on the street?

It would be so much trouble to search and clear them out one by one. The correct way was to locate the storage warehouse and take a large amount of good in one swoop.

Of course, compared to the massive proper storage warehouses, this could only be counted as a small, temporary transit warehouse.

Dong Tianyu actually knew the location of the large warehouse cluster, or more precisely, most people in Pengville knew. But that place is located in the East District.

Even though Dong Tianyu would find it convenient to go there with his truck, that location had exceeded the active range of the cave mansion. He cannot use the Shadow Warehouse there and would have to transport goods out truckload by truckload, which would be very troublesome.

So Dong Tianyu can only temporarily give up on that place for now. If the active range of the cave mansion could cover that area after the upgrade, then he would consider going there.

The temporary transit warehouse in Black Tortoise Market isn't too large because this place is prime real estate in the city center, and the rental price for the warehouse is not low. Therefore, the goods stored in it are usually high-profit fast moving consumer goods, with the vast majority being clothing or bedding sets.

The clothing in this warehouse is usually bought in bulk, and then divided and taken to various stores for wholesale.

Here, a "piece" of clothing is not an individual item worn on the body but a large package: about 1.8 meters high, about 2 meters wide, with a thickness of about 0.5 meters, packed in a woven bag. Such a package is usually counted as a "piece".

After finding the temporary warehouse, Dong Tianyu did not care whether the contents were T-shirts or suits, summer clothes or down jackets; he took them all.

Dong Tianyu had specifically set aside an area in the Shadow Space. This area was used as a transfer platform to transport the things Dong Tianyu collected in the outside world into the cave mansion.

The other areas in the Shadow Space are filled with various survival supplies he had custom-ordered in the past. These supplies are Dong Tianyu's last guarantee, and he does not want to use them lightly unless absolutely necessary.

Dong Tianyu was like a very responsible cleaner. When leaving the warehouse, he made sure to clean every storage room spotlessly.

By the time of dawn, Dong Tianyu had already cleared out the transit area and collected more than 300 large packages, making the once sparse cave mansion a bit crowded.

Given the situation, Dong Tianyu's plan to collect living supplies should be temporarily stopped. Now, he can only continue collecting basic resources, reduce the consumption of survival points, and speed up the upgrade of the cave mansion.
