I retreat a little, my tail curling up to cover my now-exposed little muffin.

Yeah…

Even knowing we're completely alone, standing out here naked in the open air still feels kind of weird!

SPLAAAASHHH!!!

She crashes into the water in a massive cannonball, sending a huge wave bursting outward in every direction!

The surface erupts in a watery explosion!

And I get absolutely soaked!

Dripping from head to toe.

"AAAA!" I squeal, staggering back as a huge splash drenches me head to toe. I blink rapidly, water dripping down my bangs and into my eyes.

Then, Eris surfaces.

Her head rises from the depths like some goddess from a dream. Her hair clings to her face and shoulders, sleek and dripping, while water cascades down her toned skin in shimmering rivulets.

"Hehe, how was it?" she grins, cheeks flushed with pure joy.

"Ooooooh!" I clap my hands, eyes sparkling. "That was amazing! So cool! I've never seen a cannonball that epic before!"

"Haha, thanks!" she chuckles.

"Alright, watch me!" I shout proudly, suddenly fired up.

It's my turn now!

I take a step back with determination, psyching myself up like an athlete before a big moment.

I shake out my hands, wiggle my tail for balance, stretch my legs like I actually know what I'm doing.

I'm going to make an even bigger splash than Eris!

So big that Eris will praise me!

And with that determination, I take off running.

Legs pumping. Arms swinging. Tail flying like a little streamer behind me.

Almost there!

But then—

SLIP—!

My bare foot hits a puddle left from Eris's splash. And just like that, my whole world tilts…

Now, I'm airborne, but not in a good way.

I see the floor rising up to meet my face.

But then—

SPLASH!!

A massive wave erupts beside me, crashing like a mini explosion.

I barely have time to register it, as a burst of wind and water slams into me from the side, soaking me all over.

And then, strong arms wrap around me.

I don't hit the ground. Instead… I land safely, cradled against something warm, someone warm.

I blink. My heart's racing, my chest is heaving.

And when I open my eyes… I see her.

Eris.

She's holding me.

She caught me, right out of the air, just seconds before I could faceplant into the poolside tiles.

Her body is dripping wet, her chest rising and falling as she steadies herself from the impact.

As she flips me over, her arms are now around me, one under my back, the other under my knees, like a knight carrying a princess.

"Hey," she murmurs, her voice low, her breath brushing warmly against my ear. "Careful now."

Holy shit… I'm shaking.

Not because I almost died, or even almost lost a tooth…

But because of Eris. Because of what she just did.

I can't believe it.

She jumped from the bottom of the swimming pool… up to save me?!

I look up, stunned, and meet Eris's eyes—so blue and bright, sparkling like gems beneath the dark red sky.

I resurface, coughing and spitting water out of my mouth, water dripping from my ears as I peek my head above the surface.

But Eris?

I can't believe it! She just throws her head back and laughs!

A bright, carefree, absolutely smug laugh!

But for some reason… somehow… I laugh too!

"Wahaha! That was so fun! AGAIN!"

"Ohh? You liked it that much?" Eris raises a playful brow, her wet hair clinging to her face.

"Nn!" I nod like an excited kitten. "Again please, higher!"

"Alright!" Eris grins

And with that, we do it!

I let her throw me again.

And again.

And again!

Over and over, dozens of times, like I'm a living beach ball!

Each toss is stronger, higher, splashier than the last. We're making tidal waves by now, and we call them Felicia waves!

Eventually…

"Alright, I'm tired," Eris says, breathless and laughing, stepping deeper into the pool to rest.

"Awwww, one more time, pleaaaase!" I whine, paddling over to her with the biggest pout I can muster.

"Nope," she says, smugly shaking her head.

"Hmmph!" I puff out my cheeks, crossing my arms like a sulky kitten.

But then—

She opens her arms.

And with just that gentle, welcoming gesture, she has tamed me once again.

So, like a little fish, I swim right into her embrace.

And there we stay.

Floating softly in the water, her arms around me, my head resting against her shoulder.

Floating in the water, wrapped in warmth, our bodies pressed close together beneath the soft glow of the moon.
