CATCHING FEELINGS.

Chapter 8: Chapter 8

Aisha

It had been over fifteen minutes since Michael left me here all alone on a lounge. Feel free, get distracted, relax. Damn you fancy people with your fancy asses and faces. They always think everything is so easy. I never knew I would be this bored. I was tired of waiting for him. He couldn't even leave me in the company of someone I could talk with. Nnooooo. He just had to abandon me in a somewhat secluded area in the mist of people who are complete strangers and leave to God knows where.

The perfect gentleman. I should discuss. hmf. I'll go meet the other guy, what's his name again? Nathan, or something like that.

I thought before recalling the incident with the woman with him.

Wrong idea. What if I call the girls? No. Kim will be so disappointed with this, but what can I do? It ain't my fault. Deciding to call anyway, I dialed.

"Hey. Any problem?" she asked worriedly.

"No. I'm just bored. Mr. multimillionaire just left me in the mist of strangers to 'feel free' as he says. Can you believe that? I asked him about my looks and he was like it's fine." I said.

"What? just that? After all the trouble I went through. That guy has got some serious cerebral disjunction." she said.

"I know right. I guess, I wasn't good enough for him. Or maybe, I'm no match for the women he has been with. He even finds it worrisome for his parents to see us together." I said a little sad.

"No. Don't think that way. Maybe he's got a valid reason. you never know." she said.

"I doubt there is another reason." I replied. "He acts like I'm some sort of shameful thing."

"No A. Don't take it that way." she said then sighed. "You want me to come and pick you up?" she asked worried.

"No. I'll just wait around. He said I shouldn't wonder too far away. So, I'll just busy myself." I replied.

"You know what? Are there hot guys there?" she asked then replied before I could speak. "Of course, there must be. Not just hot I’m sure they're freakin' loaded. I want you to go now and get yourself busy. I'm sure someone will be there too looking for some company." she said in her normal jovial voice.

"I'm at it. But you know I suck at keeping up discussions with guys." I replied.

"It doesn't matter. You just need to show up and your looks will do the rest. trust me." she said.

"I hope so." I said.

"I know so. Now go before someone thinks you're an introvert." She encouraged.

"Ok. I'm an introvert though." I chuckled. "Thanks Kim." I replied gratefully.

"Anything for you. Now go get yourself a man." she said before dropping the call.

She's right. I need to loosen up and forget about him. He's busy anyway. And I didn't come with him to be his wallet. So, Aisha you'll go on a man-hunt. With or without his presence or accord. I move out of the corner I was seating at and move to the table. I was already tired of sitting there alone and I was thirsty.

Everyone was busy chattering with each other but I observed a few curious glances thrown my way. I hate it when people continuously stare at me. It makes me uncomfortable and self-conscious. Especially since I don't like when the attention is all focused on me. I took a few slices of fruits and went to get a glass of juice. I don't drink alcohol. I moved over to a balcony made with balusters. The night was cool and calm aside from the classical music played in by the orchestra and peoples low voice from their discussions nothing else could be heard. I sighed in my silence. I should have stayed home. What made me come here?

"Silence isn't too good you know. It makes your mind over work." I heard someone say from behind. I slightly jumped out of surprise. I didn't even get his foot falls. And I turned to face the speaker.

"I'm sorry if I scared you." he said with a dashing smile.

Goodness this man was gorgeous. "No, I'm ok. Just a little bit stunned by your unnoticed arrival." I replied.

He was good looking I must confess. Good body build which showed even in his tux. Around the 6"1. Brown skinned like me, but a much lighter shade than mine. Sharp piercing dark eyes, dark curly hair, and pearly white teeth framed by beautiful pink plump lips. The type any girl had totally fall for. And oh, help me dear God because I'm a sucker for guys with curly hair and his lips can't let you focus on anything else when looking at his face.

"Sorry about that. I didn't mean to. It's just surprising to see such a beautiful woman on her own, and this isolated. Or do you need space?" he asked furtively.

"Oh no. I really need some good company. I'm bored here alone anyway." I replied with a smile. "Can we go in? It's getting a little cold out here." I said.

"Sure, why not?" he said offering me his hand which I took and we moved in. "You don't seem familiar. Is this your first time attending this?" he asked.

"Yeah. First and maybe last." I replied.

"May I ask why?" he asked curiously.

"Not with the same person anyway." I replied.

"Is he that bad?" he asked.

"Let's just say. We aren’t getting each other." I replied and he laughed at my reply.

"and who is that if I may ask?" he said.

"hmm, secret. He says I shouldn't let anyone know I came with him. Sorry." I replied.

"Ok. I respect that. But I find that sort of strange. Why would a man come with such a pretty woman at his side and not what anyone knowing about it?" he asked a little confused.

"He said personal reasons." I relied.

"With such beauty I doubt any reason can conquer it." he said which made me smile and blush.

"That's not what he thinks anyway. Or probably the beauty isn't great enough to conquer his reasons." I said.

"He said that? Your boyfriend is really a dick." he asked seemingly enraged.

"Not exactly. But he didn't say anything either. And he's not my boyfriend. We just met a few days ago. He just asked me to accompany him here. Since you needed to enter with someone apparently." I replied.

"Too bad. I wish that was me instead of him. I don't think I would be able to let you get even an inch radius between us." he said.

Which made me laugh a little loud. This guy is unbelievable.

"You're something do you know that?" I said incredulously.

"I mean every word I say. It's not every day you come across such pleasant people with such dazzling beauty." he insisted. "To whom do I have the pleasure?"

"Aisha." I replied.

"Nice name. Not very current, but your beauty too is not very current." he said.

"Oh, stop that will you." I said slightly pushing him on his shoulder. "You're over doing it." I giggled.

"I'm very serious about this. It suits you." he complimented " By the way. I'm Travis. But you can call me Trey." he added with dashing smile.

"Pleasure meeting you Travis." I said. Then he stared at me for a while. "What? Do I have something on my face?" I asked.

"Absolutely not. You're perfect. Just... You're fascinating. I had just like to know you more." He said with a grin making me smile back.

"Is that an invitation?" I asked.

"Definitely. Shall we go outside. To have some quiet and space for ourselves?" he said.

"I... I'm not sure. He said I should not wonder too far so he can easily find me when he's done. He might get mad..." I said unsure.

"Fortunately, he's not here. So, I can steal you away. And keep you jealously." He replied.

I don't know why but I decided giving him a chance. What's there to lose after all? I can't waste my entire night waiting for an unappreciative jerk.

"Ok. Let's go." I replied.

I pray he doesn't exceed the limits. Or worst is some pervert. I thought as we moved out into the gardens.
