Catastrophe Containment Facility

Chapter 1153: Successful Capture

The originally intact sanctuary quickly shattered, and the surroundings rapidly transformed into a desolate void.

Menglan looked around in surprise: "This... just now, that wasn't your original dreamscape, but rather a fabricated dreamscape you created."

Wen Wen snapped his fingers: "You're right, but there's no reward."

Menglan was so angry she jumped up, then realized the surface beneath her feet was not the floor, but a slick, curved shell.

Upon closer inspection, it was a mountain-like, football-shaped construct, with numerous oval protrusions on it, nurturing repulsive creatures inside.

"This is..." Goosebumps rose on Menglan; she felt fear emanating from this thing.

"This is the Nest of Destruction. It continuously spawns monsters until the entire space is filled, a very dangerous Catastrophe Level Containment Item."

"Catastrophe Level... God!"

Menglan shuddered, but before she could marvel at the Nest of Destruction beneath her, a claw stepped on her head and leisurely trotted past her.

It was an Auspicious Beast, covered in dazzling rays of light. Menglan felt her body was about to collapse beneath the glow.

Not just the Beast God Qilin, amidst this dreamscape full of bizarre sights, over a dozen entities of unimaginable power could be seen.

Although these entities were merely illusions in others' dreams, such illusions possessed strength within the dream!

Catastrophe-Level Powerhouses are already deities. To perfectly manifest their figure in dreams, one must have witnessed their strength and have a sufficient understanding of it.

So why did Manager Meng have so many terrifying powerhouses appearing here?

Wen Wen sat in the void, and on a piece of shattered ground, he looked at Menglan's expression, completely relaxed.

"I'm a bit of a pervert and quite narcissistic, but I'm not suicidal. The reason I insist on catching the Nightmare in the dreamscape is because I am confident I can take it down."

"This realm of dreams is my first venture; I don't know what will happen."

"No matter what happens anywhere, the chasm of strength cannot be crossed."

"Even if you could enhance combat capabilities tenfold or hundredfold by leveraging the terrain... as long as my strength is to the extent that you can't win no matter how much you grow, then I can catch you."

Directly witnessing so many Catastrophe-Level entities, Menglan's emotions became unstable.

If she wasn't a True Order Rank Nightmare with some resistance to the pressure of Catastrophe Level entities, merely witnessing so many Catastrophe Level figures could cause her mind to collapse and go insane.

Quickly scanning the surroundings, many places were occupied by mysterious Catastrophe Level powerhouses. Even though they were mere phantoms, nobody can guarantee what actions they may take, making escape from those directions impossible.

The only direction suitable for escape was slightly north-east, where only a severed purple hand lay—otherwise, it was empty.

If she could run a certain distance in that direction, she'd have enough time to leave this terrifying dreamscape.

Watching Menglan run in the escape direction, Wen Wen slapped his forehead, realizing this foolish woman chose the most dangerous direction.

Sighing, he donned a Black Robe and flew toward Menglan's escape path. Attracting a Nightmare isn't easy; if she were to get killed by a severed hand, Wen Wen's efforts would be wasted.

Menglan was about to pass the severed hand, but it suddenly flipped and lightly slapped in her direction.

Purple ripples emanated from the severed hand, destroying everything in its path. Menglan's heart leapt into her throat; she knew if the ripple struck her, she would be doomed!

Boom...

Wen Wen stood before her, the purple ripple and black energy counteracting each other, eventually losing a sleeve but fully blocking the attack, while the purple hand lay lifeless like a dead fish.

This was a hand from Heavenly God Yogma, possessing extremely brutal strength. Because Wen Wen was frightened by this hand at the time, its aggressiveness in the dream was slightly high.

Seizing the moment of confrontation between Wen Wen and the hand, Menglan fled in another direction—she heard clearly that Wen Wen was there to capture her, so she had to run.

But after running a certain distance, she stopped, cold sweat streaming down her forehead.

"What, not running anymore?" Wen Wen teasingly asked from behind.

Menglan stammered: "N-no, not running anymore, sister...ahem, little sister is entirely at brother's disposal."

A massive black Longsword hung over Menglan's head, carrying the power to annihilate everything. Once it fell, Menglan would be obliterated.

"In that case, come with me."

Wen Wen first forced Menglan to sign an absolute obedience contract to him, then extended chains from the Black Robe to bind Menglan, capturing her into the Sanctuary.

Once finished, Wen Wen glanced at his dreamscape before closing his eyes and lying on the ground.

When he opened his eyes again, Wen Wen had already awoken from the dream, with Moyadi and Mefna standing guard.

"How's the harvest?"

Seeing Wen Wen's unchanged expression, Mefna was slightly surprised; it was the first time she'd seen someone wake up so calmly after encountering a Nightmare.

Though Wen Wen seemed calm, she felt Wen Wen had failed because the idea of capturing a Nightmare and having it solve cases sounded nonsensical to Mefna.

"Harvest... let's say I've caught it, but I still need to check. I'll give you an answer later."

Wen Wen left the room, instantly entering the Sanctuary when he saw nobody around.

He worried the Nightmare caught in the dream might not appear in the Sanctuary, so he signed a contract with Menglan. Even if unable to capture Menglan into the Sanctuary within the dream, he could use her to solve the sleep cases.

Fortunately, his worry was unnecessary; the Catastrophe Containment Facility remained as strong as ever.

In the Disaster Area of the Sanctuary, a blur appeared, which was the Nightmare Menglan.

In the real world, a nightmare doesn't retain its appearance from the dream; their form is just a drifting cloud.

But to Menglan herself, her appearance hadn't changed; she gripped the bars, her heart filled with bitterness.

Previously, in Wen Wen's dreamscape, she'd mocked monsters trapped in prison cells, never expecting such a short time later, she'd become a prisoner herself—it was absolutely ironic.

"There's something I can't understand: why did you capture me?" Menglan asked Wen Wen, puzzled.

Wen Wen replied matter-of-factly: "Naturally, for your abilities—what else? I'm not tempted by your body."

Looking at Wen Wen fiddling with his wrist, a horrifying sensation overcame her; suddenly, her perception of Wen Wen changed.

As if standing before her was a Nightmare!
