Catastrophe Containment Facility

Chapter 1140: Iron King Temple

After Wen Wen revealed his identity, Professor Qiao was filled with fear.

Logically speaking, he shouldn't be afraid, even of a Catastrophe-Level Expert.

The Truth Society has been passed down in the Sanctuary for millennia. Although the Sanctuary is immobile, under the control of a 'Professor'-level superpower user, it can exert nearly Catastrophe-Level strength in a small area.

But today's anomalies were too many; the Black Cross not only infiltrated the Sanctuary using a special method but also recognized what appeared after the Holy Monument shattered.

Wen Wen was swinging his feet on the Jin Kela statue and said, "Actually, I just came here for fun. I initially wanted to play with you a little longer, but this discovery has been somewhat unexpected, so let's stop this farce now."

Professor Qiao was as if facing a great enemy, the massive black energy surrounding him, its oppressive force pushing everyone else in the Sanctuary to the edges, the strongest defensive state he could muster.

Wen Wen smirked, leapt down from the statue, and walked step by step towards Professor Qiao.

The overwhelmingly powerful energy defense was as if nonexistent before Wen Wen, automatically making way for him.

"Why is the Sanctuary's power invincible, and why can you disregard it?" Professor Qiao looked at Wen Wen with bloodshot eyes, using all his strength to activate the Sanctuary's defenses.

"The answer is obvious; compared to you, the Sanctuary's power is more akin to me."

Wen Wen walked up to Professor Qiao, lightly tapped his chest, and a massive energy sent him flying, crashing into the Sanctuary's wall before hitting the ground, bleeding from all seven orifices.

Professor Qiao didn't die because Wen Wen still had things he wanted to ask him.

As for the others...

Black chains spread out like a tide from Wen Wen, filling every space in the Sanctuary, leaving everyone else, no matter how adept at dodging, unable to escape the ubiquitous chains.

Boom...

With a loud boom, all the chains retracted into Wen Wen's sleeves, leaving the Sanctuary empty, save for Wen Wen alone, with everything he wanted pulled into the Sanctuary.

After lifting the Catastrophe State, Wen Wen walked around the Sanctuary but couldn't find the Sanctuary's core.

He initially thought that the Sanctuary was also a subsidiary building of the Sanctuary; as long as he found the core, he could open a door inside the Sanctuary and bring the Sanctuary back to it.

But now it seemed things weren't that simple, so Wen Wen called Jin Kela into the Sanctuary.

The most prominent feature in the Sanctuary was Jin Kela's statue, and he should know what the Sanctuary was about.

As soon as Jin Kela appeared in the Sanctuary, a nostalgic look appeared in his eyes: "I haven't been here in a long time; I didn't expect it to still be here."

"From what you said, it seems like you know what this Sanctuary is about?" Wen Wen asked curiously from the side.

"The Sanctuary... no, this is not a Sanctuary; this is my Iron King Temple, or it could be called a Sanctuary sub-base."

"Back in the days when the Sanctuary was at its peak, the three of us Central Administrators could move freely, so we each established a base in the U.S.-Canada District, Capital, and Golden Eagle."

"We each were responsible for a base, safeguarding a third of the world's safety, akin to the relationship between the Hunter Headquarters and its branches."

Jin Kela spoke in simple terms, making it easy for Wen Wen to understand, meaning that this time they had fortuitously reclaimed a former base of the Sanctuary.

However, another question arose: why was this Iron King Temple in the hands of the Truth Society?

The other two Sanctuaries were also in the Truth Society's hands, and even the Mystery Library, where Wen Wen had been before, should have also been a subsidiary building of the Sanctuary...

Many other superpower organizations didn't even know the Sanctuary existed, yet the Truth Society inherited at least four special buildings of the Sanctuary. It was hard to say this was a mere coincidence.

"The waters of the Truth Society run deep. I originally planned to figure out a way to extract Wen Rui, but it seems that's not enough now. At the very least, I must reclaim what's mine."

"However, this means the Foundation will become enemies with the Truth Society..."

"Nonsense, I've already destroyed his Sanctuary, we're already destined to be enemies until death, and the Truth Society also wants to ally with other organizations to overthrow the Hunter Association. Even without this issue, we would still be mortal enemies."

While Wen Wen was contemplating, Jin Kela walked to the massive statue, placing his hand on it, activating it. The floor behind the statue parted, revealing an entrance leading downwards.

Jin Kela smiled at Wen Wen and said, "Now that I've taken back my Temple, this place is ours."

"I can search for suitable talents within the Temple's radiation range, inviting them to join the Sanctuary. Additionally, both you and other Sanctuary members can use this place to visit the U.S.-Canada District at any time."

"Doors that can be opened within the Sanctuary, like Yuriano's and the Mirror Labyrinth, Punishment Room, etc., can also be opened here, and it can handle some containment work."

Wen Wen nodded. This indeed was a sub-base, essentially a small, immobile Sanctuary.

Having this Iron King Temple would allow the Sanctuary's power to rapidly grow in the U.S.-Canada District.

"After gaining access here, has your strength recovered somewhat?"

Jin Kela thought for a moment and said, "With the power of the Iron King Temple, I can exert Catastrophe-Level strength, though limited to activities within the U.S.-Canada District."

Wen Wen nodded in satisfaction; it was much better than Professor Qiao, who could only exert Catastrophe power within the Sanctuary.

Besides, Wen Wen believed that the same Catastrophe-Level power used by Jin Kela was entirely different from that used by Professor Qiao.

With Jin Kela stationed here, Wen Wen no longer worried about members of the Truth Society coming to cause trouble.

Licking his lips, Wen Wen suddenly felt the urge to immediately take over the other two Sanctuaries as well. Having such good places in the Truth Society's hands made him uncomfortable all over.

How to operate this Iron King Temple was entirely entrusted to Jin Kela, and he also let Wenwu coordinate with his actions, hoping to open a branch of the Foundation here as well.

Jin Kela glanced at the dome above, at a pile of Yin Yang Persons' rotting flesh in the Upper Sequence, and shook his head helplessly.

"Let's go back to the Sanctuary first and catch a couple of monsters to clean up."

Then Wen Wen released Delia. Though this girl was quite annoying, she was just that—annoying.

She no longer had the hard disk containing products from another world's culture, so Wen Wen planned to send her home first and then interrogate Professor Qiao, as he had many questions for him.

But the released Delia hadn't woken up yet, surprising Wen Wen slightly.

Two basins of water were splashed on her face, but she didn't wake up, making Wen Wen realize something was wrong.

Delia wasn't unconscious; she was asleep!
