Captured by the Yandere Space Pirates

Chapter 118

"What the fuck!" Pako's voice cut through the bridge's hum, her eyes wide as she gripped the console, her fingers digging into the metal.

Vera froze, her hand hovering over the ship's navigation panel, while Aster's jaw tightened, her arms crossed, the three of them glued to the medic room's audio feed,

Syn's conversation with Mia—now Olivia—blaring through the speakers.

The pirate ship roared toward the Interstellar Station Governance Alliance (ISGA), orbiting near Jupiter's path, a weeks-long journey at full throttle, its engines vibrating the floor.

They'd planned to use this time to get closer to Syn, to rebuild their bond, to go all in, but now, this bombshell—Olivia's shapeshifter reveal—had them reeling, their hearts pounding, their plans upended.

"She was Olivia all along?" Pako blurted again, her voice a mix of disbelief and outrage.

Her sleek black hair bounced as she gestured wildly at the screen. "I thought she was dead! She vanished, like, poof, gone from the backdrop. Who would've thought she'd turn into a shapeshifter and stalk Syn this whole time? Creepy? Sure. But this creepy?" Pako's hands flailed, her leather jacket creaking with every exaggerated motion.

Vera, leaning against the console with her arms crossed, stared at the screen with a furrowed brow.

Her purple wavy hair framed her face, and her matching purple eyes narrowed as Olivia and Syn drew closer, their hug lingering just a moment too long.

"I always knew there was something off about her," Vera said, her voice low and measured, a stark contrast to Pako's outburst. "The way she clung to Syn, how she grew so fast—hell, she was almost as tall as Pako last time I saw her. And, yeah, her boobs were bigger than yours back then."

"Hey!" Pako shot Vera a mock glare, instinctively crossing her arms over her chest. Then she grinned, glancing down at herself. "Well, I've come a long way since then. Look at these babies now—hot and sexy." She struck a playful pose, her confidence unshaken.

Aster, sitting quietly in a corner chair, tilted her head, her blonde hair catching the dim light of the bridge. Her teal eyes shimmered with curiosity.

"Who is Olivia?" she asked, her voice soft but inquisitive. Unlike Vera and Pako, Aster hadn't known Syn back when Olivia was part of their lives.

She'd met him later, after he joined the kingdom's army, and the name Olivia was just a shadow from his past which never same up during any of their conversations.

Vera sighed, brushing a strand of purple hair behind her ear. "Olivia was this baby girl, Syn brought back from… from when his roommates were killed by the King. We told him to ditch her, but he insisted on taking care of her. Always the bleeding heart, you know? She was weird, though.

Grew freakishly fast, like she was aging in dog years. Last I saw her, she was almost Pako's height, with this eerie vibe. And then she just… disappeared. Until now, apparently."

On the screen, Olivia and Syn pulled back from their hug, their faces inches apart.

The air seemed to thicken as their gazes locked, and just as their lips nearly met, Vera slammed her hand on the console, shutting off the feed.

"Nope. Not watching that," she muttered, her cheeks faintly flushed.

Aster's expression darkened, her fingers tightening around the armrest.

She was still stinging from the memory of Syn pushing her away when she'd tried to kiss him weeks ago.

"He's hugging her. Kissing her, even. But me? He wouldn't let me near him." Her voice was barely above a whisper, laced with hurt.

Vera noticed the shift in Aster's demeanor and crossed the room to place a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"Hey," she said softly, her tone warm but firm. "He apologized, right? Syn's not himself. That witch Ila messed with his head—probably his heart, too. He's not pushing you away because he wants to. Give him time. He'll come around."

Aster met Vera's gaze, her teal eyes searching for reassurance. She nodded slowly, though the ache in her chest lingered. "Yeah. Okay. Let's wait."

Pako, sprawled across a nearby chair, kicked her boots up onto the console.

"Agreed. Let's not crowd him. Besides, we've got weeks to bond with Syn—deep bonding, you know?" She wiggled her eyebrows, earning a chuckle from Vera and a shy smile from Aster.

An hour later,

The medical bay doors slid open with a soft hiss, and Syn stepped out, his dark hair slightly tousled but his posture relaxed.

The faint scar on his jaw caught the light as he scanned the corridor. Before he could take another step, Pako bounded toward him, her energy filling the space.

"Syn!" she exclaimed, skidding to a stop in front of him. Her green eyes sparkled with concern and excitement. "How're you feeling? You good?"

Syn offered a small smile, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm fine, Pako. The thigh's healed up—feels almost normal. I can move without wincing now." He paused, glancing down the corridor. "Where's Vera? I need to talk to her."

Pako waved a hand dismissively, her silver rings glinting. "No need. Vera's got everything under control. We're already headed to ISGA—full speed, no detours. We figured it's safer to deliver the proof in person. The internet's too risky; kingdom spies in the ISGA can get it instead, or worse, alter the data before it reaches the King. This way, we control the narrative."

Syn nodded, his expression thoughtful.

"Smart. There's a good chance Ila doesn't know I've got evidence of the shapeshifters. We can't afford to tip her off. This is our last shot to expose her, and the kingdom." His voice carried a quiet determination, the weight of their mission settling over him.

Pako grinned, nudging his shoulder. "Exactly. But you, mister, need to rest. You're not invincible, even if you think you are." She grabbed his arm, tugging him down the corridor. "Come on, I'm taking you somewhere fun."

"Where?" Syn asked, raising an eyebrow but letting her pull him along.

"My room," Pako said with a mischievous wink. "I've got comics—your favorites. I snagged the latest Poiderman and Tatman just for you. Figured you could use some chill time now that your kingdom gig is done."

Syn's lips twitched into a genuine smile, the kind that reached his eyes.

"Comics, huh? I've missed this, Pako." Her infectious enthusiasm was a balm to the chaos of the past months, and for the first time in a while, he felt like he could breathe.

Pako's room was oddly tidy ike always, no one would even dream for her room to look like this. Her bed, draped in a soft, navy-blue blanket that shimmered faintly, was covered with a spread of comics, their covers torn off to avoid creases.

Syn sat on the edge of the bed, picking up an issue of Poiderman: Web of Stars. "You weren't kidding," he said, flipping through the pages. "You've got the whole collection here."

"Damn right," Pako said, plopping onto the bed beside him. "I know what you like." She handed him Tatman: Knight of the Void, the latest edition, and leaned back, watching him with a fond smile.

Syn paused, his fingers tracing the comic's bold artwork. "Hey, Pako, can you call Vera? I need to make sure she's got copies of the shapeshifter video. We can't risk losing it."

Pako rolled her eyes but pulled out her phone, swiping to a secure folder. "Relax, captain. Vera's way ahead of you." She tilted the screen toward him, revealing the video file, timestamped and encrypted. "She shared it with all of us. We're covered."

Syn exhaled, the tension in his shoulders easing. "Nice. Good work."

"Always," Pako said with a mock salute.

She kicked off her boots and stretched out on the bed, her movements deliberately slow. Syn didn't notice at first, engrossed in the comic, but then Pako stood, shrugging off her jacket to reveal a black lace camisole and matching shorts that hugged her curves.

The fabric shimmered faintly under the room's soft lighting, accentuating her toned figure and the confident sway of her hips.

"Pako!" Syn's eyes widened, his comic slipping slightly in his hands as he took in her appearance. Her body was a study in contrasts—strong yet soft, with a playful allure that was impossible to ignore.

"What?" Pako said, feigning innocence as she climbed onto the bed beside him. "It's my room. I'm just getting comfortable. Why, you getting weird ideas or what?" Her voice was teasing, her lips curling into a sly smile as she leaned closer, her perfume—a mix of citrus and spice—filling the air.

Syn chuckled, shaking his head. "Pako, you're impossible."

"Impossible? Nah. Irresistible? Maybe." She propped herself up on one elbow, her black hair spilling over her shoulder. "Look, Syn, I know you're thinking it. My hot, sexy self is right here, and you're tempted to pin me to this bed for a long, intense… humping session." She waggled her eyebrows, her tone dripping with playful challenge. "Unless you wanna prove me wrong?"

Syn's cheeks flushed, but he didn't take the bait. "Yeah, no. I'm good with Poiderman for now." He flipped the comic open again, though the corners of his mouth twitched with amusement.

Pako pouted, but the expression quickly melted into a warm smile.

She scooted closer, resting her head on his arm as he held the comic. His arm instinctively curled around her, pulling her into the crook of his shoulder.

Together, they read in comfortable silence, the vibrant panels of Tatman unfolding before them—heroes battling void-beasts, starships soaring through nebulae, and witty banter that mirrored their own.

The ship hummed softly around them, a reminder of the weeks ahead and the battles yet to come. But for now, in the glow of Pako's room, with comics spread across the bed and her warmth beside him, Syn felt something he hadn't in a long time: peace.
