Cannon fodder in the Interstellar

Chapter 75 - Military Academy Gate

As the Xuan Gu First Military Academy was about to start, the special training for the new students naturally came to an end, giving them time to prepare their school supplies.

To be honest, the new students felt a bit reluctant to leave. However, they had no fond memories of the grueling physical training from the previous month and a half.

But the month spent indulging in mecha training, with various types of mechas to rotate through, had truly captivated them. They wondered if they would ever have such opportunities again, as few places outside the military offered such a variety of mechas.

The new students eagerly asked Instructor Dudley if they would still be able to come back for training during holidays.

Instructor Dudley simply replied, “This special training was arranged by the Crown Prince privately. If you get the chance, you can ask him if there are any follow-up arrangements.”

His words pointed directly at the Second Prince, and all eyes turned to him.

Hebrew Adam glanced at Instructor Dudley and said, “I’ll ask. But this is a military ship; it’s one thing to come once, but it’s hard to say about future visits.”

Satisfied, the new students left. They would all be classmates, and with the Second Prince present and the First Prince keen on nurturing them, they were sure to have access to mechas in the future.

As everyone else left, even Gao Haitao from the fourth-tier wandering star found his place. Only poor Ruo Manni was left behind, pitifully denied her freedom to wander the streets by Instructor Dudley, who claimed it was unsafe for her to act alone, and he took her onto the flying vehicle.

“Can’t I at least go out and see the world?” Ruo Manni pleaded, hoping for some sympathy.

“Captain Lin said you need to be kept a close watch on; who knows what wild ideas you might come up with and what scary things you might do,” Instructor Dudley conveyed, word by word, Lin’s implied warning.

She wasn’t that kind of person, but she couldn’t articulate it.

Regarding the original owner’s bold and reckless use of second-generation gene-enhancing agents, Captain Lin merely gave her a light reprimand, but he kept it in mind.

Unable to convince her instructor, Ruo Manni was directly taken to the entrance of the Xuan Gu First Military Academy. Since the flying vehicle couldn’t stop at the gate, Instructor Dudley gave her some instructions and then unceremoniously dropped her from a height of seven or eight meters.

For a level-four warrior, such a height was nothing.

After being subjected to over two months of rigorous training by Instructor Dudley, all feelings of sadness and vulnerability had been beaten out of her. As she was tossed down, Ruo Manni remained unfazed, completely forgetting her previous act of the downtrodden girl longing to go shopping.

She landed gracefully, adjusted her clothes, slung her backpack over her shoulder, and walked toward the academy.

She wasn’t a real child; she understood that Instructor Dudley wouldn’t allow her to roam freely partly due to Lieutenant Lin’s warnings and partly out of concern for her safety as a girl in an unfamiliar place. She certainly wouldn’t act against that and sneak out to shop.

As Ruo Manni was dropped from the flying vehicle, she caught the attention of several upperclassmen welcoming new students at the academy entrance. Many of them were watching her.

Undoubtedly, Ruo Manni was a beautiful girl, and in a military academy with more boys than girls, she stood out even more. Moreover, as a stunning beauty, she seemed to radiate a certain aura.

Before leaving the training base, she had changed back into the ordinary clothes she brought from Topaz Star. However, her exceptional demeanor and appearance made even simple clothes look good on her, causing onlookers to unconsciously overlook the style and price of her outfit.

Ruo Manni’s use of the second-generation gene-enhancing agent not only improved her cultivation potential but also gradually enhanced her physical condition over the past few months.

Now, her appearance had reached its peak, combined with a unique aura resulting from her distinct experiences, and her figure was nearly perfect. In the realm of combat, she was rated with a charm value of eighty-five, but in reality, it was undoubtedly no lower than ninety.

To the young boys, the black-haired, black-eyed girl’s beauty appeared simply refined and elegant, lacking the stunning allure of a breathtaking beauty. Yet, she possessed an indescribable quality that drew their eyes, making them want to look again.

Her simple clothing faithfully showcased her flawless figure, with her slender waist subtly revealed, causing the boys to feel their hearts race, daring not to stare too long for fear of losing composure.

Even her exposed calves were captivating, and while this area wasn’t considered taboo, the boys couldn’t help but glance at them repeatedly.

It wasn’t until they realized the girl was walking toward them that they snapped out of their reverie.

As a level-four initial-stage warrior, given her age and the casual outfit she wore, they all assumed she was likely a new student this year, though they couldn’t pinpoint which department she belonged to.

A few boys were secretly vying for her attention, and a silver-haired boy took the lead, approaching Ruo Manni with a warm smile. “Are you here to check in, junior?”

“Yes, hello, senior. I’m a new student in the Mecha Combat Department,” Ruo Manni replied politely.

A brown-haired boy approached with an excited expression. “Junior, you’re in the Mecha Combat Department!”

“Yes,” Ruo Manni replied.

“Hi, junior! I’m also in the Mecha Combat Department, class of 958,” he said eagerly, extending his hand.

Ruo Manni was from the class of 960, making him two years her senior, and she politely shook his hand.

“Hello, Junior! I’m also in the Mecha Combat Department, same class as him,” a dark golden-haired boy chimed in, reaching out as well. Ruo Manni had no choice but to shake his hand too.

The silver-haired senior who had first approached Ruo Manni seemed not to be from the Mecha Combat Department, as he was pushed aside by the two seniors.

“Hello, seniors,” she said, naturally smiling a little more warmly at her direct seniors.

In the end, the brown-haired senior led Ruo Manni into the school, and without needing to check a map, she smoothly arrived at the new students’ dormitory.

Along the way, the brown-haired senior introduced her to the school’s general situation. Ruo Manni also inquired about the freedom students in the Mecha Combat Department had for training during breaks.

“Our school has the best training facilities in the entire Gus Empire. It’s a must-visit place for Mecha Combat students; most of us spend our free time there. The school’s official website has detailed information. After you get your student card from the administrator, you can log into the school intranet and check anything you want. If you have questions, feel free to message me; I’d be happy to help you!”

The brown-haired senior explained enthusiastically, and for a delicate and beautiful girl like Ruo Manni, it was surprising that her main concern was about training. He found it completely natural.

After all, everyone in the Mecha Combat Department who has reached the fourth level as a warrior by the age of fifteen must have been completely devoted to training to achieve this level.
