Chapter 138: Chapter 138: A New Divine Ancestor
Gasper's eyes widened, fixed on Haru's impassive face as he slowly withdrew his Blade, A look of disbelief—of lingering resentment—etched onto his features.
Asia stared at Gasper's lifeless body in horror, her hands glowing with a faint green light as she desperately tried to use Twilight Healing.
But Gasper's body, devoid of any life force, grew colder and colder.
Xenovia and Koneko, who had just moments ago been toying with Gasper, stood silently beside his body, their faces filled with regret. They had been closest to him, the ones who could have stopped Haru.
But caught off guard, they had only watched helplessly as Gasper died at the hands of one of their own.
Rias trembled with rage, her eyes fixed on Gasper's body.
"Do you even realize… what you've done, Haru?! Tell me! What were you thinking?!"
A terrifying aura erupted from Rias, black tendrils of Power of Destruction swirling around her.
In her fury, her power surged, her demonic energy spiking from High-Class to Ultimate-Class levels.
The Gremory family, unlike most Devils, were known for their close ties to humanity—for their capacity for deep emotions. They treated their peerage not as servants, but as family.
Seeing Gasper, whom she considered a dear friend, killed by Haru, the man she loved—the man she thought she loved—Rias snapped.
The destructive aura around her intensified, obliterating the very air as a massive hand of demonic energy reached out for Haru.
'Crack! '
A spear of lightning struck the demonic hand, dissipating it in a flash of energy. Akeno stood, her hand outstretched, the source of the attack.
Rias's face contorted, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Even you… Akeno… you're betraying me too?"
Akeno, a strange look on her face, pointed towards the wall.
Rias followed her gaze.
The others stared in shock at Gasper, bound and gagged, hanging from the wall—alive.
Gasper blinked, looking at Rias with a confused expression. "Huh? I'm… still alive?"
He looked around the room, taking in the tense atmosphere, then wriggled, the ropes binding him snapping under his newfound strength.
He landed on the floor with a thud, staring at the broken ropes in bewilderment. "Did… did I just get stronger?"
"My magical energy… my physical strength… Everything's increased…" Gasper's body pulsed, his demonic energy far surpassing even Rias's earlier outburst, reaching Ultimate-Class levels.
Rias stared at him in disbelief. "Ultimate-Class… and so powerful… How…?"
Gasper, still assessing his transformed body, suddenly felt a chill.
He lifted his skirt and pulled down his panties—
Then froze.
He stared at himself, his eyes widening with delight. "It's… it's gone!"
Everyone in the room, except for Yuto, who was still deep in meditation.
Haru, beaming with pride, gave Gasper a thumbs-up.
His plan had worked flawlessly. He'd infused Gasper with Earth Authority, granting him the attribute of an Earth Mother Goddess. Then, using The Blade, he'd transformed Gasper into a Divine Ancestor.
A truly magnificent outcome.
Haru felt a surge of… righteousness. He'd successfully reduced the number of cross-dressing men in the world, contributing to a more… orderly society.
Haru's gaze shifted to Yuto, a flicker of disappointment in his eyes. "Too bad he doesn't have any divine power…"
The others' eyes widened. "He's not satisfied with just Gasper? He's thinking about Yuto too?!"
Yuto, sensing a sudden chill, snapped out of his meditation. He instantly activated his Balance Breaker, summoning his Holy Demonic Sword. "Buchou, what's going on? I felt a strange presence… Is there an enemy?"
Rias slumped back onto the sofa, rubbing her temples. "No, there's no enemy. Just… go back to what you were doing, Yuto. Some things are better left unknown."
Yuto looked around the room, his eyes scanning the doors and windows, then, seeing no immediate threat, slowly deactivated his Sacred Gear.
Haru glared at Yuto, then turned back to Gasper, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He lifted Gasper's chin, his voice soft. "Do you… like your new form?"
Gasper blushed, his Divine Ancestor blood stirring within him. "I love it~~ Haru-onii-chan is the best~~"
Koneko and Xenovia exchanged glances and sighed. "He's incorrigible…"
Akeno, noticing Rias's dejected expression, turned to her with a playful smirk. "My, my, Gasper's become the second strongest among us. You're only third, Rias. How embarrassing for a King, don't you think?"
Rias slumped onto the sofa, staring at the now submissive Gasper. "I give up. Gasper, will you at least attend the gathering now?"
Gasper flinched, hiding behind Haru, his eyes wide with fear. "I-I'll go… Rias-buchou…"
Rias's eye twitched. After all that—after nearly breaking up with Haru for his sake—Gasper was still terrified of her?
"This Devil King… he's going to be the death of me…"
She turned to Akeno, her voice flat. "Akeno, open a portal. Directly to the gathering. I'm too tired to come up with a plan."
Akeno, her sadistic side aroused by Rias's defeated expression, grinned. Only after Rias repeated her request, her voice tinged with impatience, did Akeno snap her fingers, activating the teleportation circle.
A faint light emanated from the magic circle in the center of the room.
The group followed Rias, her shoulders slumped, into the portal.
The blood-red sky of the Underworld and a towering skyscraper that dominated the skyline greeted them.
The location of the Young Devils Gathering. The Gremory peerage had arrived.
