Call Me Daddy

Chapter 64.1 - Born Guilty (End)

Su Yixing came to the hospital to collect the physical examination reports for herself and her father. Both reports were in the same envelope. After checking her own results, Su Yixing took out her father Su Aobai’s report from the other envelope.

Both of their health reports showed no major issues. Su Yixing glanced briefly at the results and, seeing that they were good, was about to put the reports back into the envelope.

Just as she was about to leave the hospital, her movements suddenly paused. A few seconds later, she quickly retrieved the reports she had just put back, and with both hands, she opened them up.

[Su Aobai:]

[Blood Type: AB]

[Su Yixing:]

[Blood Type: O]

How could a father with blood type AB have a daughter with blood type O!?

Su Yixing found the examination results absurd!

The Dean Mother’s surgery was successful, and after being allowed by the doctor to return home for recovery, she looked at Su Yixing, who had been absent-minded recently, with some concern.

“Yi Xing, did something happen at school?”

The old lady wondered if her grandchild was being bullied at school.

“It’s nothing.”

Su Yixing picked up a slice of white-cut meat, dipped it in the vinegar dish next to her, and ate it without changing her expression.

The old lady glanced at the vinegar dish and then at the soy sauce dish. Could this really be considered nothing?

“Grandma, does my Mom… get along well with my Dad?”

Su Yixing could no longer hold back and finally asked.

“Yes, they get along very well!”

The old lady was surprised by the sudden question and was momentarily stunned. However, she quickly recovered, her thoughts drifting back to the past, reminiscing about the sweet relationship of the young couple, and she displayed a nostalgic smile.

“There are no couples with a better relationship than your parents.”

The old lady had always believed that if Xiao Xing had been alive back then, Xiao Bai would not have harbored any resentment towards Yi Xing. He would have cherished the child deeply, worked hard to provide a prosperous life for his wife and daughter, and they would have been a very happy family.

“So what about me? Am I really their child?”

Su Yixing tightened her grip on the chopsticks, her fingertips turning white.

“Of course, you are their biological child. I saw the nurse carry you out of the delivery room with my own eyes. You don’t even know how much you resemble your mother, and you even inherited some of her little habits.”

The old lady looked at the confused child with pity. Xiao Bai must have been too indifferent to this child, making her begin to doubt her own origins.

Her firm answer dispelled some of Su Yixing’s doubts. Gathering her courage, she asked the final question.

“Back then… when my Mom was pregnant with me… was she looking forward to my arrival?”

Su Yixing clenched her teeth. This question was crucial.

The old lady fell silent. The child had come too suddenly, and Ji Xing might not have been prepared to be a mother. Her emotions had been very unstable, which the old lady understood, considering Ji Xing was already in her second year of high school at that time. An unexpected pregnancy would have had a significant impact on her studies. If it hadn’t been for the late discovery of the pregnancy and her poor health condition, Ji Xing might not have kept the child.

Even she felt that Ji Xing’s age at that time wasn’t suitable for becoming a mother so early.

“She prepared swaddles, diapers, and a milk bottle for you before you were born… Do you think your mother loved you?”

The old lady told a kind-hearted lie, but her momentary silence had already revealed to Su Yixing her mother’s true attitude.

The truth seemed to be heading toward the direction she least wanted to believe.

The truth that “Su Yixing” from the other world could deduce, despite her younger age and less experience, was something that this world’s Su Yixing would also face. Her similar intelligence would lead her to the real answer.

Su Yixing focused on the man who had been killed by Su Aobai. After receiving the bonus from her first monthly exam, she went to the deceased’s hometown and inquired about his family situation.

For instance, his mother had remarried years ago and had another son with her new husband. However, that woman had passed away a few years ago. Apart from the half-brother, he had no other relatives in this world.

His brother would occasionally return because the man had an old, dilapidated house in the countryside. After his death, it was inherited by his mother, and after her death, it was passed on to her younger son. There had been frequent rumors of demolition over the years. Whenever such news surfaced, the younger man would return because he wasn’t a local and feared that the village might embezzle his compensation. He preferred to err on the side of caution rather than miss out on it.

Su Yixing didn’t need to actively seek him out; she could simply wait for the next demolition rumor and then go to the countryside to wait for an opportunity.

In just under 2 months, she managed to find the man and cleverly obtained some hair samples with follicles from him.

Now, institutions that could perform paternity tests were strictly regulated, requiring both parties to be present. Although Su Yixing sought the truth, she didn’t want to alert those involved, especially the old lady, whose health had not fully recovered and could not handle too much stress.

For a high school student like Su Yixing, this was an almost unsolvable problem. In the end, she had to turn to someone who harbored the greatest goodwill towards her and had the ability to accomplish this task—her desk mate, Zhu Xining.

Without even asking about the identity of the samples or the reason for the test, Zhu Xining helped her get it done.

The result of the test was the outcome Su Yixing least wanted to see. She was biologically related to the other sample, meaning she was indeed the child of the man Su Aobai had killed!

In her mind, Su Yixing had pieced together a complete story; a girl was raped and bore a child of sin, and because of this child, she lost her life. The boy who loved the girl raised the child who shared half of her blood but loathed the other half of the child’s dirty blood.

Thus, he could never love the child.

One day, the man saw the person who had harmed the girl and killed him. As punishment, he was imprisoned as a murderer, while the child, carrying the blood of sin, remained unaware of the truth and harbored hatred for the innocent man…

What kind of story was this?

Yet, the protagonist of the story was her, and the one carrying the blood of sin was also her!

Staring at the paternity test report in her hands, Su Yixing found it impossible to accept.

“Are you okay?”

Zhu Xining asked, looking at Su Yixing, who had been acting dazed lately.

Even now, Zhu Xining didn’t think her decision was wrong.

Compared to living in confusion and forever hating an innocent person, she believed she would rather face a harsh but real truth.

Especially since there was another Su Aobai in this world who seemed to have a similar fate.

In the previous life, “Su Yixing” had misunderstood him for many years. In this new life, he shouldn’t have to bear the wronged complaints from her.

“Xining, I brought you a glass of juice.”

As Zhu Xining looked at Su Yixing with concern, a girl placed a glass of juice on Zhu Xining’s desk. She was an old friend of Zhu Xining, though calling her a friend was a stretch; she was more of a hanger-on who had latched on because of the original Zhu Xining’s generosity.

Since “Su Yixing” had taken over this body, there had been significant changes. She no longer hung out with her old friends but instead grew very close to Su Yixing. They commuted to and from school together, and while at school, they studied and reviewed lessons together, leaving little room for anyone else to intervene.

This situation made the original Zhu Xining’s friends restless, and they took the initiative to be friendly.

Since the original Zhu Xining had spent quite a bit of money on these friends in the past, Zhu Xining did not refuse the glass of juice they had brought.

“Pfft—”

As soon as the juice touched her lips, Zhu Xining immediately spat it out.

“I’m allergic to mangoes.”

Zhu Xining quickly wiped her mouth and rinsed with mineral water.

“Ah?”

The girl who had brought the juice looked confused.

“Weren’t you always the biggest fan of mango juice?”

When had she developed a mango allergy?

Zhu Xining hesitated before replying, “It’s a newly discovered allergen. I only found out about it recently during a check-up.”

It wasn’t Zhu Xining who was allergic to mangoes, but “Su Yixing.” Having been accustomed to being allergic to mangoes for over 40 years, Zhu Xining had momentarily forgotten that she was no longer “Su Yixing” but Zhu Xining, who not only wasn’t allergic to mangoes but also enjoyed eating them.

After dismissing the girl, Zhu Xining turned her attention back to Su Yixing’s probing gaze.
