Calculating My Way To Immortality

Chapter 83: Golden Core Realm [PART 2]

Yu Tian's core was vibrating intensely.

It was beginning to transform into a Golden Core.

But if he let it transform naturally, it would just be a normal Golden Core.

He retrieved the core from Su Qing and began absorbing it. Su Qing's core had absorbed the cores of many other Core Formation experts and was quite solid. If he absorbed it fully, he should be able to form the Absolute Core that Su Qing had been seeking to create.

He also had the other cores he'd gotten from the Dark Moon Hall attackers. He could use these to finalize the core, or even to advance his realm after breaking through.

As he did all this, the lightning was still continuously striking at them. At the moment, it was still manageable. He was using his qi to protect himself. Though it didn't seem to be working all that well. Either way, he could still handle the incoming damage. Though not for long - the lightning seemed to be getting stronger with each strike.

He needed to finish this quickly before the lightning grew too strong.

He checked on Xueling. After confirming that she was doing fine, he began absorbing the core.

The human core was surprisingly similar to a beast core. Apart from the smaller size and a slight difference in energy composition, it was pretty much the same as the beast core he'd absorbed before.

After about thirty minutes, Yu Tian had completely absorbed the core. He'd also absorbed another five cores, but his core didn't seem to be strengthening much anymore.

He wondered if this was the limit.

[100%]

In that case, he'd succeeded in forming the Absolute Core.

[100%]

He smiled. Now it was time for the next step. "The lightning is also close to the level I want," he thought.

The tribulation lightning had gotten quite stronger compared to before. With this intensity, he felt he could extract a good amount of extreme yang. Although he preferred waiting a little longer for it to grow stronger for a more guaranteed chance of success, Xueling seemed to be reaching her limit.

He sighed and began finalizing his breakthrough.

After the core transforms, there's still another step to completely enter the Golden Core Realm.

This was to transfer the Golden Core from below the dantian into the spiritual sea. The initial transformation was the hard part - this was much easier. Well, for him, that is. Most cultivators needed extreme concentration to move the core without harming their qi pathways.

With his Path to Heaven method, he was able to successfully move his Golden Core to the spiritual sea in just ten minutes.

He observed Xueling. She seemed to be struggling even more now. The intensity of the lightning seemed to be delaying her progress as she had to be even more careful as she moved the core. He thought about helping her but eventually decided against it.

If he interfered at this moment, she might lose her concentration and fail.

[50%]

Those weren't good odds, so he decided to wait.

After another ten minutes, she was finally done. She opened her eyes. "I've succeeded," she said.

Yu Tian nodded. "Good. The tribulation is about to enter its final stages before it ends. Concentrate all your energy on producing extreme yin energy and endure," Yu Tian said.

Xueling nodded. Although the lightning was quite strong, she felt she could endure a little more.

Yu Tian then began stimulating his inner core. He was already at the edge of a breakthrough to the thirteenth layer and just needed a small trigger to advance. After stimulating his inner core slightly, the breakthrough threshold was reached and the rebirth began.

He concentrated on the extreme yin energy Xueling was producing and began absorbing it into himself. He also began absorbing yang energy from the heavenly lightning. He then brought these two energies together and began circulating them inside his body.

He didn't circulate them inside his core since the two energies were pure yin and yang. If they reacted with his elemental energy inside his core, it wouldn't be good. Another reason was that he wanted the energy to be in his body where the rebirth was happening, not in the spiritual sea where the core was located.

Yu Tian felt his spiritual root reach a critical point and begin advancing. He didn't have much time and needed to start modifying it soon before it hardened.

Usually, it was hard to interact with the spiritual root, as it was quite sensitive and could be damaged easily if one forced it to accept other elements. But since his entire body was undergoing a rebirth, it was easy to interfere with it and have everything fixed once the rebirth was complete.

He just needed to align the yin and yang energy perfectly in the spiritual root now while it was soft, and the rebirth effect would help the spiritual root grow around that.

Even so, it wasn't as simple as just inserting the yin and yang energy and letting the rebirth do the rest of the work. If he did this, after the rebirth ended, the yin and yang energies - which were extreme opposites - would clash and explode his spiritual root.

This was the main problem he needed to solve.

He didn't believe it was impossible to have both. After all, he had both fire and water affinity, meaning there was no inherent restriction against extreme opposites.

He had some ideas on how to go about it. The first one was to create partitions in the spiritual root. But that wasn't quite right either. If he did that, he would have a dual element spiritual root: one for yin and one for yang.

But this wasn't what Yu Tian wanted. He wanted to have a single element spiritual root.

Although it seemed ridiculous - having both extreme opposites as a single unified thing - his calculation ability showed it was possible. Although yin and yang were considered extreme opposites, they seemed to balance within each element to bring out specific effects.

If he could find that balance in their base form before they transformed into elements, he could then use that as the foundation for his spiritual root.
