Chapter 81: Disciple
As the two women returned, their expressions turned strange as they witnessed the scene before them.
"Sword Saint, how can you do this? Think about your dignity. How will people think of you now?" Changfeng shouted as he tried to pull the Sword Saint from his kneeling position before Yu Tian.
"No, I want to be accepted as his disciple," the Sword Saint said, pulling himself from Changfeng's grasp and prostrating himself before Yu Tian. "Please take me as your disciple," he said.
Changfeng pulled him up from his position. "You dog, I call you brother, yet you want to accept someone from the younger generation as your master? Do you want me to start calling you junior now?"
Shuiruo sighed as she witnessed the scene. She could probably guess what had happened here.
Changfeng noticed the two return and began asking for help. "Mist Fairy, can't you do something about this?" he asked.
At that time, the Sword Saint also noticed the arrival of the two.
He quickly stood up and rushed to Xueling. Since his plan had failed, he'd have to resort to some other means. He bowed deeply to Xueling. "Sect Master Xueling, I'd be happy to join your sect on the condition that you assign Yu Tian as my master," the Sword Saint said.
He thought to himself that Xueling looked like a smart person. There was no way she would pass on an expert like him.
"Brother Jianming, what are you saying? Don't you care about the wills of our ancestors?" Changfeng asked.
The Sword Saint glanced at Changfeng, startling him. "Brother Changfeng..." he spoke seriously.
"What is it?" Changfeng asked, surprised by the sudden serious tone.
"Please take care of my Righteous Sword Sect," he said.
Before Changfeng could reply, Xueling spoke. "I'm sorry, I can't fulfill your request," Xueling said.
"What do you mean?" the Sword Saint asked.
"Yu Tian isn't a member of my Snow Heaven Sect, so I can't force him to take on any disciples," she said.
The Sword Saint was shocked to hear this. Then again, Yu Tian was indeed too powerful to just be a member of a small-time sect.
"But there is still another way," Xueling said.
"What? There is? Tell me," the Sword Saint insisted.
"Actually, my name is not Su Xueling but Yun Xueling," she said. "I am the exiled Fifth Princess. Yu Tian is my direct subordinate. Although I can't force him to take on my sect's disciples, I can make him train my subordinates," Xueling said.
The Sword Saint remained silent after hearing those words. Shuiruo and Yu Tian remained neutral, and Changfeng just watched his brother.
After some time, the Sword Saint sighed. He then cupped his fists. "I will think this matter through, Fifth Princess," the Sword Saint said.
He understood that the princess was recruiting him, but this matter had to be tread carefully as it was related to the royal family.
"Alright," Xueling said.
"Anyway, thanks for hosting us, Sect Master Xueling. We'll take our leave for now," Mist Fairy spoke, and the three of them bowed slightly before flying away.
…
"How did it go with the fairy?" Yu Tian asked.
"You already know, don't you?" she spoke.
"Well, this was to be expected," Yu Tian said. "You just lack enough achievements."
"Anyway, let's go back and rest. Tomorrow, we need to finalize the contract details between our four sects and begin preparing to face the Dark Moon Hall," Xueling said.
Yu Tian agreed, and the two flew back to Xueling's residence.
…
Two days later, Yu Tian had a wide grin as he juggled the spirit stones in his hands.
Their deal with the three righteous sects had been finalized, and he was already receiving benefits. Even so, he felt a little sad that his time for practice was being cut short by his time for work. Well, there was nothing he could do about it. He could only hope to grow more proficient to the point that he could handle the work in an instant and go back to practice.
"I didn't know you could make such an expression," Xueling spoke, and Yu Tian turned to the side where Xueling sat in a meditative posture, her body letting out small pulses of qi every second.
"Well, the spirit stones can improve my cultivation," Yu Tian said.
"But there is something that can do that even better, right?" she asked with a smile.
"Of course," Yu Tian said, his smile widening even more than before as he approached her. "It seems that the plan has succeeded. Your body is now at level three," Yu Tian said, interlocking his hand with hers. "How are you feeling?" he asked.
"I feel much stronger now, both physically and in qi density," she said.
Yu Tian confirmed this with his senses. People with special physiques are really lucky. He could feel that she had reached the criteria for eleventh layer body refining with just her base physical stats. What a monster.
"You look even more happy than I am," Xueling said.
"Of course. With this... I'll finally be able to alter my talent," he said.
"Alter your talent? What do you mean?" she asked in confusion.
"You've heard about the tribulation, right?" he asked.
"Yeah, starting from the Golden Core realm, you'll face a heavenly tribulation every time you advance a major realm," she said.
"I want the two of us to face the tribulation together," Yu Tian said.
"Together?" she asked in surprise. "Isn't that dangerous? It's said that if you receive any help during the tribulation, the heavens would become enraged and force an even stronger tribulation upon you," she said.
"It's fine. This is even better," he said.
She looked at him. Even better? What crazy plan was he thinking about this time?
"Anyway, now that your advancement is done, get ready so we can start forming the inner core," Yu Tian said.
They had gotten a Starfall Blossom from the Mist Fairy, so it was now time to form an inner core for Xueling as well as teach her the Endless Rebirth Scripture. If she entered the eleventh layer, even without breaking through to the Golden Core realm, she should be able to match peak Golden Core cultivators. Even stronger than his late Golden Core combat power.

Despite being the 5th princess and the fairy's superior, the fairy will keep the sect master Yun title as the jianghu doesn't care about bloodline but seniority. Since the fairy was the first to proclaim herself that, it shall remain that way unless something unexpected happens.
"Do you want me to start calling you junior now?" If the sword saint is accepted as a disciple by yu tian, he goes down a couple generations…
