Bully Lord

Part-205

Part-205

Rahat remained frozen for a moment, standing behind his desk, his mind racing. The entire encounter had lasted less than ten minutes, but its impact was profound. Sam’s words echoed in his head: *evidence of your wrongdoings* and *destroy your company from its core.* What exactly had he uncovered? Rahat had plenty of skeletons in his closet, but he had always been careful, operating through layers of intermediaries and proxies. Sam’s warning about his family, especially his son, added another layer of complexity. Why mention his son so specifically? And why issue such a personal threat?

He slowly sat down, exhaling deeply. He needed to think, to reassess his position. His company was powerful, and he had influence in many circles, but Sam wasn’t someone to be taken lightly. The AIGP had connections of his own, not to mention his authority as a senior figure in law enforcement.

Meanwhile, as Sam sat in the backseat of his car, driving away from Fire Fly Headquarters, he stared out of the window, his thoughts focused on someone far more personal than Rahat or his corporation. He muttered quietly to himself, "That’s all I can do for you, James. I could solve everything happening around you easily, but you won’t grow if I shield you from every challenge."

He had been keeping tabs on his son, James, for quite some time now, watching as he navigated his way through life’s obstacles. Sam knew that his position afforded him the power to remove those obstacles, to eliminate threats before they even reached James, but he had refrained from doing so. James needed to learn, to face adversity, and to overcome it on his own.

Sam’s gaze drifted to the cityscape beyond the window, and a faint smile touched his lips. He loved his son, and there was no doubt in his mind that James had potential—potential that he wouldn’t allow to be wasted by intervening too much. But still, Sam was a father before anything else. If Rahat or anyone else ever crossed the line and targeted James directly, he wouldn’t hesitate to act.

The car pulled up to a stop at an intersection, and Sam’s phone buzzed with a notification. He glanced down to see a message from one of his informants. The information was a small but important piece of the puzzle in a much larger game he was playing, one that stretched far beyond the walls of Rahat’s company. Sam sighed and pocketed the phone, mentally filing away the new information for later use.

Back at Fire Fly Headquarters, Rahat sat alone in his office, his gaze fixed on the scattered documents covering his desk. The gravity of recent events weighed heavily on his mind. He leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair, feeling the pressure. He had built Fire Fly from the ground up alongside his father and two brothers, pouring years of effort, sacrifice, and ruthless ambition into both the legitimate and shadowy sides of their empire. But now, for the first time in years, he felt genuinely vulnerable.
