Part-174
Arad’s grin widened. "Oh, I see. You’ve got some guts, I’ll give you that. But guts won’t save you. The world doesn’t care about your sense of justice, kid. It runs on power and fear, and I’ve got both on my side."
Sourov, who had been quietly fuming, stepped forward. "You talk a lot for someone who’s about to go down. We’re not afraid of you, Arad. And we’re not alone in this."
At that, Arad’s grin faded, replaced by a cold, calculating stare. "You think you can take me down? You think you can stop what’s already in motion?" He took a step forward, his voice low and menacing. "You don’t know what you’ve gotten yourselves into. The Spider Eyes are everywhere. They’re watching, and they won’t hesitate to silence you."
James clenched his fists, but he remained calm. "You can try to scare us all you want, but we’re not backing down. We’ll expose Spider Eyes and every dirty connection they have to Fire Fly. We know it’s not going to be easy, but we’ve got our own team. And sooner or later, we’re going to bring this whole operation down."
Arad stared at them for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then, with a smirk, he backed away, his hands raised in mock surrender. "We’ll see about that. But don’t say I didn’t warn you. Watch your backs, boys. This game is far from over."
With that, Arad turned and disappeared into the shadows of the alley, leaving James, Ryan, and Sourov standing there.
Before disappearing from view, Arad taunted them, saying, "If you want to find me, meet me tomorrow in the same slum where you found me last time. It’s going to be a full-on battle royale. Face me if you dare." He paused, his eyes glinting with malice. "And bring all your friends. The more the merrier." With that, he turned and vanished into the shadows, leaving James, Ryan, and Sourov standing there, their hearts pounding with a mix of fear and determination.
James and his friends knew they couldn't ignore Arad's challenge. It was a trap, but they had to confront him. The following day, they gathered at the agreed-upon location in the slum. As they approached the area, they could sense the tension in the air. The place was buzzing with activity, and it was clear that something was going on.
The slum was a labyrinth of narrow alleys and dilapidated buildings, a place where the marginalized and the forgotten lived. The air was thick with the stench of poverty and despair, and the people who lived there were hardened by the harsh realities of life.
As James and his friends ventured deeper into the slum, they became increasingly aware of the danger that surrounded them. They saw groups of young men loitering in the alleys, their faces etched with violence and aggression. They heard whispers of crime and corruption, of gangs and drug dealers.
