Chapter 91: Chapter 91 : In A Different Place_1

Commander Maximus was quite shocked in his heart when he heard the report.

"The beast tide is happening now? How is that possible when it's not supposed to occur for another five days?" one soldier muttered.

"I don't know what's going on, but the beast tide is definitely happening right now," another soldier responded.

"There's no time to chat. Sound the alarm and get the soldiers ready for war," Commander Maximus said coldly.

" Yes commander ".The two soldiers quickly bowed and hurried out of the command room.

Maximus's eyes flashed with concern. "Something is definitely not right," he muttered under his breath.

A few moments later an ear piercing alarm ranged across the entire iron fortress.

The iron fortress was alive with activity, as if a giant beast was about to awaken. Soldiers armed to the teeth marched towards a large platform, while the arrow towers began to turn and flicker with faint light.

Within moments, thousands of soldiers stood solemnly on the platform. Commander Maximus stood elevated with high-ranking soldiers behind him.

"Soldiers!,I won't mince words. The beast tide is upon us. The fate of Bridgemoor City rests on our shoulders. Millions of lives depend on us. Defend with all your might, even if it means sacrificing yourselves. Understood?" Maximus's voice boomed across the platform.

"Yes, Commander!" the soldiers shouted in unison, their powerful voices echoing throughout the fortress.

Maximus nodded calmly. " Now move out!" he commanded.

The soldiers quickly and efficiently left the fortress, heading towards the perimeter of Atmos Forest.

Defenses and barricades had been set up meters away from the forest, and the soldiers stood ready, tightly gripping their weapons as they gazed at the looming trees.

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble. At first, it was just a slight shaking, but as time passed, the trembling grew more intense. The small hills and mountains in the area started to crack, with huge boulders rolling down their slopes.

Looking towards the Atmos Forest, the ancient trees were shaking violently, some even being uprooted and lifted into the air.

"Alright men, get ready for war!" Maximus commanded in a booming voice.

Within seconds, magical beasts poured out of the Atmos Forest, charging towards the soldiers. There were so many of them, it was like a black tide that seemed endless.

While they were only Tier 1 Magical Beasts and not individually strong, their sheer numbers posed a threat to the five thousand soldiers.

"Commander, something is not right," a high-ranking soldier standing by Maximus' side said with a furrowed brow.

"Yeah, I know something is definitely off with these beasts this time," Maximus replied calmly. "But now is not the time to speculate. Ready the Crimson Lightning Cannon."

"Yes, Commander," the high-ranking soldier nodded.

"Ready the Crimson Lightning Cannons!" Maximus shouted to the soldiers behind him.

Ten huge cannons, completely red with intricate runes, were wheeled out.

The power emanating from these cannons was immense and judging by the Mana fluctuations coming from these ten huge red Cannons they were capable of threatening even a Tier 4 Mana Cultivator.

Twenty Tier 3 Master Knights stood behind each Crimson Lightning Cannon, ready to fire.

The energy required to operate these cannons was massive, which is why it requires twenty Tier 3 Master knights to operate one just to unleash a single round of attack.

"Commander, the Crimson Lightning Cannon is ready. Should we fire now?" the high-ranking soldier asked.

"Don't fire yet, wait for my command," Commander Maximus said. The high-ranking soldier nodded in agreement.

Commander Maximus calmly observed the black tide rushing towards them. All the soldiers tightly gripped their weapons, silently circulating their Mana as they awaited the command to attack.

Just as the Beast tide approached within a hundred meters, Maximus gave the order, "Start firing the cannons."

"Yes, Commander," the high-ranking soldier acknowledged before turning around and shouting, "Start firing!"

The twenty Tier 3 Master Knights behind each Crimson Lightning Cannon sprang into action.

Some loaded a huge red projectile into the cannon, while others channeled their Mana to power the cannons.

The runes on the cannons lit up, emitting a red glow.

The cannons hummed loudly as they heated up.

BOOOOOM!

Moments later, a thunderous boom echoed as ten flaming fireballs, surrounded by arcs of crimson lightning, streaked across the sky towards the approaching horde of beasts.

The force of the cannons caused the ground to shake and crack, pushing the Knights back a few meters.

BOOOOOM!

The fireballs exploded upon impact, creating massive fire mushrooms that destroyed everything within a two-kilometer radius. The shockwaves from the explosions wiped out over three thousand beasts, leaving nothing standing in their wake.

The area within a two-kilometer radius was completely obliterated. Every creature caught in the attack was instantly pulverized.

The land in the surrounding two kilometers was left in ruins, with nothing left standing. Every living or non-living thing within the range of the attack was destroyed.

Even the shockwaves from the cannon balls killed over three thousand beasts in the Atmos Forest who were still in the process of rushing out.

The scene was truly devasting, the entire two kilometers radius was completely scorched burning flames and lava covered the entire surrounding.

Fortunately, Maximus' army was far away from the attack, but they could still feel its power.

"I never get tired of the Crimson Lightning Cannons," a high-ranking soldier sighed as he surveyed the destruction caused by the ten cannons.

"Of course, this is the pinnacle weapon designed and manufactured by the Royal Blacksmiths," Maximus calmly stated. "Continue to fire," he ordered.

Although the attack by the Crimson Lightning Cannons dealt a significant damaged to the beasts' tide and killed almost 2/3 of them who first rushed out of the Atmos Forest.

It seemed to have little effect as more and more magical beasts continued to pour out of the Atmos Forest with red eyes full of brutality and killing intent.

Just then, another wave of attacks landed in the beasts' tide, wiping out all the magical beasts within range.

This pattern continued with ten waves of attacks launched by twenty Tier 3 Master Knights, resulting in tens of thousands of magical beasts being killed in every wave of attack and the surrounding area being completely transformed.

After the ten waves of attacks, the twenty Tier 3 Master Knights were completely drained of Mana and looked slightly pale.

"Tell the soldiers to prepare for battle," Maximus instructed. The high-ranking soldier nodded and descended from the hill to command the soldiers.

"Soldiers! Formation!" he shouted. The soldiers quickly organized themselves into formations and charged towards the magical beasts' tide.

The clash between the soldiers and the magical beasts resulted in a bloody battle, with gore flying everywhere. Despite the beasts' ferocity, the army had the upper hand due to their experience in battle and strategic formations.

But the magical beasts also aren't weak as Magical beats that can survive in the Atmos Forest were the survival of the fittest is the most paramount are not weaklings at all.

As the soldiers fought for their lives, Maximus watched from a distance, knowing that only the strongest would survive in the brutal Atmos Forest.

Maximus suddenly turned his gaze towards the Atmos Forest, a frown forming on his face. He could feel a gaze sweeping towards him, making him uneasy.

Inside deep in the the Atmos Forest, a group of black cloaked figures sat surrounded by faint grey energy, chanting mysterious incantations.

Two figures stood to the side, one with long curved horns on his head.

"We should begin the second phase, Master," one of the figures said.

"Yes, we need to take down this fortress quickly. It's the only thing standing in our way of reaching Bridgemoor City," the man with horns replied confidently.

"But Commander Maximus has been guarding this pass for fifty years. The fortress has never been taken down," the black cloaked figure warned.

"Don't worry about him. I'll take care of Maximus. Start sending Tier 2 and Tier 3 Magical Beasts," the man with horns said nonchalantly.

----------------------------------

As the war between the army and the Magical Beasts Tide raged on, the soldiers grew tired and casualties mounted.

The soldiers were losing ground, the soldiers were starting to get tired as more of them kept dieing because the magical beasts seems endless as long ad they kill a hundred another hundred will replace the dead ones it seems like as ever ending circle.

"Commander we are starting to losing the upper hand " the high ranking soldier said to Commander Maximus.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Just then, the ground shook violently as a second wave of powerful Magical Beasts emerged from the Atmos Forest.

These beasts were larger and more intimidating than the first wave, with overwhelming auras.

The tide of Magical Beasts pouring out of the Atmos Forest was simply insane.

"Tier 2 and Tier 3 Magical Beasts!" the high ranking soldier exclaimed with shock in his eyes.
