Chapter 82: Chapter 82 : Conversation By The Lake
Felix gazed one last time at the Thundercloud Family estate before disappearing into the night with the others. As they left, a small object fell from the sky and turned to ashes upon impact. The space around the estate briefly fluctuated before returning to normal.
Suddenly, a mysterious figure appeared in front of the estate and surveyed the destruction. After a moment of silence, the figure vanished inside and came face to face with the corpses of Gunnar, Danika, and the others. With a sigh, the figure muttered, "What a ruthless person," before disappearing.
The next morning, shocking news spread throughout the Adventurer District to other parts of Brigdemoor City.

People were shocked and astounded but there were some who showed signs of happiness in their eyes when they heard the news.

Adventurer District. Thundercloud Family Estate.
Currently a large crowd have gathered around the Thundercloud Family estate, now in ruins with bodies scattered about and the air reeked of blood and the scent of death.
Soldiers stood guard while Adventurers discussed the tragic events.
"Damm what truly, how can the once powerful Thundercloud Family be annihilated in just one night"
"You know what's eve more terrifying is that nobody was able to sense any disturbances or Mana fluctuations at all ".
"Yeah this is really creepy, such a huge and powerful Family was annihilated in just one night without creating any disturbances"
"I heard Gunnar was killed, his daughter had her heart dug out, all those that were in the Thundercloud Family last night are all dead".
"Damm this truly ruthless. I believe the person who did this is extremely powerful that he was able to kill everyone in short amount of time or that person have a group of accomplices with him"
"Yeah, the person who did this is truly ruthless to the bone. Even the children were not spared at all "
The crowd around the estate discussed among themselves as they looked at the Thundercloud Family Estate with pity and sympathy in their eyes.
This world is truly bloody. Just a day ago the once powerful Thundercloud Family was still around alive and kicking in Bridgemoor City, but in an instant, they were utterly annihilated
The swift and shocking demise of the Thundercloud Family has prompted a heightened state of vigilance among many influential factions and noble families within Bridgemoor.
Even the most prestigious families are now on high alert. While the Thundercloud Family may have been considered a relatively small and inconsequential entity in the grander scheme of Bridgemoor City, their sudden destruction has sent ripples of concern through the upper echelons of power.
This unprecedented event has compelled the leading families to exercise extreme caution, spurring them to dispatch their men to investigate the circumstances surrounding this alarming occurrence.
The notion that a formidable family could be eradicated without any forewarning is both perplexing and troubling to them.
----------------------------
Time flew by in the blink of an eye, five days had passed, but the sudden destruction of the Thundercloud Family was still the talk of the town.
The mysterious circumstances weighed heavily on the city, putting various factions and Noble Families on high alert.
Despite sending out their men to investigate, no clues were found after days of searching.
After Felix and the others took down the Thundercloud Family, they simply went back to their normal routines.
Trinity and Brixton returned to the Adventurer District for Dungeon Raids, while Zephyr focused on expanding his Gang.
Felix, on the other hand, kept the children busy by playing with them every day. He was worried about the potential trauma the events could have on them, especially Una, a five-year-old girl.
Thankfully, the children seemed to be coping well and showed no signs of distress.
-----------------------------
Edel District.Morningstar Family Mansion. Nixie sat by the small lake with a distant expression on her face, watching the serene swans glide across the water.
Felix stood behind her, observing her quietly before joining her by the lake. They both sat in silence, both lost in their thoughts.
After a few minutes, Felix broke the silence, "Do you think I'm cruel?". He asked as eh looked at Nixie.
Nixie turned her head and looked at Felix in silence but she didn't answer.
Felix turned his head and gazed at the lake. "You might be thinking that the Thundercloud Family didn't deserve to be destroyed. Danika punished Una and the others, but it wasn't necessary to destroy her entire family.
Nixie remained silent, simply staring at Felix.
"This world can be cruel and brutal, Nixie. Just because the children ruined her clothes, she mercilessly whipped them without considering their age. She did it because she was stronger than them. And because we have strength, we sought revenge by destroying their family," Felix said calmly.
Feeling confused, Nixie tried to make sense of it all.
He glanced at Nixie and continued, 'If we didn't have any strength, do you think we would have the guts to even go to their doorsteps? No, we would have been like anyone else, swallowing our anger and unable to do anything. This is how the world works - strength is everything.'
Nixie closed her eyes for a few moments. When she opened them and looked at Felix, she finally opened her mouth and asked, 'But why did you have to kill the children? They didn't have anything to do with this. They were completely clueless."
Felix looked over at Nixie and said, "Even though the kids weren't involved, they saw it all. They saw our faces, they watched as their whole family was wiped out ".
"What does that have to do with you killing them?" Nixie asked.
Felix chuckled softly and replied, "Let me ask you something. If I kill your whole family being killed right in front of you, what would you think?"
"Of course I'll take revenge " Nixie said without hesitation.
"Yes that's right you will take revenge and because I don't want any troubles in the future I will have to kill you to prevent any potential future troubles" Felix said.
"So you killed the children to prevent any future troubles?" Nixie asked.
Felix just nodded his head.
"But they are just children what can they do?" Nixie was confused.
Felix glanced at Nixie and simply shook his head. "Oh, Nixie, you're too naive. You believe they're just children and won't cause any harm or trouble. But you're mistaken. As I mentioned earlier, although they are merely children now, they witnessed us killing their entire family. If we allow them to grow up, they will eventually seek revenge against us in the future.
And who knows, there might even be someone with a protagonist aura protagonist among them. So, I have to eliminate them to prevent any potential troubles down the line."
Nixie fell into silence, contemplating Felix's words. Observing her deep reflection, Felix let out a heavy sigh and raised his gaze.
"Nixie, remember that this world isn't all rainbows and sunshine. We have to do everything necessary to survive. In this world, survival takes priority. It means being able to see the sun rise tomorrow. For some people, tomorrow is a luxury, but for us, it's within reach because we possess the strength to face another day when others don't.
That's why we must continue to grow stronger, so we can always see tomorrow," Felix said softly.
Felix let out a melancholic sigh and said, "Nixie, you might think we are too ruthless to kill an entire family, even children, but believe me when I say this: our way of handling things is actually more humane. Do you know what kind of torment some Individuals put their enemies through? This world offers no accommodations for the weak at all."
Felix fell into silence as he stared blankly at the lake. "You know, I promise that I won't let any of you suffer as long as I'm alive. If anyone dares to bring injustice upon my family, I will ensure that person and their entire family pay with their lives. Showing mercy to our enemies is being cruel to ourselves.
In this world, the only way to survive is to be ruthless, both to ourselves and our enemies. Only then can we hope to live a long life."
Nixie looked at Felix, her eyes filled with a mix of emotions.
Felix turned to her and locked eyes, saying, "Ruthlessness is the only path to survival in this world."
He looked at Nixie and smiled. "Do you understand?"
Nixie pondered for a moment before nodding her head. "I understand," she thought.
"Good," Felix nodded with a smile and continued, "So, the next time you wipe out an entire family, make sure to eliminate any potential threats for the future."
Nixie gazed at Felix with a speechless expression. "Next time?"
"Yeah, do you really think we won't encounter any more enemies in the future? We needto be prepared because there's a possibility of us destroying not just families, but even entire kingdoms," Felix chuckled.
"Big bro, you are too much," Nixie rolled her eyes at him.
"Hahahahah".Felix burst into laughter and gently rubbed her soft pink hair.
He looked at Nixie with a tenderexpression and asked, "So, do you want to start counting all the treasures we acquired from the Thundercloud Family?"
Nixie's big pink eyes instantly lit up as she eagerly looked at Felix and asked, "Where are the treasures? Show me right away!".
Felix shook his head and got up, saying, "Come on, follow me." With that, they both left the lake's bank, chatting and laughing together.
