BROKEN WORLD

Chapter 5: Chapter II: A New Recruit: Arc III: Natalie Nakajima

Put yourself in a dangerous situation. A life-or-death situation at the age of ten. A burglar walks into your home and happened to see you first. However, because you're just a child, he passes you and you know he is going to go murder your parents and take all you own.

Would your first response be sneaking up on him with a knife and stabbing him to defend your family or will it be to risk your own life and scream for your parents?

You chose the first one, did you not? Because it is the most logical one, correct? Aww, some of you chose the second one. Because you do not want to kill anyone?

That is illogical. This is a kill or be killed predicament, my friends. And that's what I did.

I, Felix Elijah Fletcher, killed an intruder out of instinct. An intruder who happened to be my father. That is how I ended up in a Juvenile Correctional Centre.

My family never resented me for it. I doubt Freddy even knows. However, the scrutiny I suffered in Juvie was worse than hell. A mistake which I deeply regret being shoved in my face every single day for three years. I loved my father. But a part of me knows that I knew it was him when I stabbed him.

Because I also hated my father.

The wind blows so subtly through her hair. Her big, mesmerizing, hazel eyes hypnotizes me. The way our school uniform fits so perfectly on her body, like a gift-wrapped present on Christmas.

She walks past me everyday without a glance. I watch her walk past everyone else as she does me. The queen of solitude.

It's crazy how different the world can seem through the eyes of somebody who's in love.

And for that period of time, it's like I'm in heaven… until they show up.

"Damian! Why are you just sitting here?" Felix questioned, raising a brow of curiosity.

Damian sat on one of many benches in front of the school entrance.

"Probably scouting girls like the perv he is." Heath laughed, walking up behind Felix with Freddy next to him.

Freddy snickered at Heath's comment, his ears turning red whilst he attempted to hide his chuckling.

It had been three months since the Emo-Jin attacked the school. Everything had been reconstructed, many still mourned their friends and classmates.

Within the span of three months, Felix managed to train Damian to his third level of Beta-Stage from Mobeiotic. Their clan had already been established. The name had been changed to the Fletcher Clan: Remastered.

The Remastered Fletcher Clan had four members. Their leader: Felix Fletcher. First son of the original Fletcher Clan leader, Frederick Fletcher Sr. Bounty: Sixty Million Dollars.

Then, the brains behind their operation, Freddy Fletcher, Felix's younger brother. He has been known to revolutionize the world of science and engineering. He created an infinite power source at just age seven, however, refuses to gift society his intellectual achievements. Bounty: Zero.

And of course, the brawn. The muscle to the equation is Heath Hellbourne. There is a rumor saying that he murdered his parents. Burned them down in a house fire when he was five years old. He was feared in the foster system. An old man eventually adopted him. From then on, he still caused trouble wherever he went. His bounty is Seventy Million Dollars, merely because he is thought to be the only son of the leader of the Bloom Clan, Harold "The Reaper" Hellbourne.

Their final member is but a trainee who goes by Damian Denver. He is the best friend of their leader, Felix. His bounty is zero.

"Now what? We tied the deal, right? Doesn't that mean the fight should be coming to us now?" Heath questioned; his eyes closed as we packed our lockers before heading to our respective first periods.

Felix stared at Heath's bare upper body.

Heath cringed at Felix's stare.

"Ya like what ya see, bud?" Heath shut his locker, turning toward Felix very aggressively. Freddy sighed before heading to class before the situation got out of hand.

"Why don't you wear a shirt? What is the reason?" Felix asked, quite interested.

Heath looked at him, very confused, but decided to answer his question regardless.

"Shirts burn off my skin when I get angry. My skin becomes extremely hot because I grow… in size, I guess. Figured it'd be a waste of money buying school shirts repeatedly because of my short temper." Heath walked past Felix, his hands in his pockets and his blue backpack on his back.

Felix nodded, doing the same as he was heading in the opposite direction.

"I see. I'll see you and Freddy after school. I have a plan. I'm taking the fight to him." Felix turned the corner.

Heath grunted in frustration.

 STRAND IN THE HIMALAYAS

The Himalayas is a beautiful place. I wonder why I never visited before. I soared through the clear, blue sky and the sounds of birds chirping and flapping their wings consumed my ears. I wonder why birds would choose to live in such a cold environment.

Cold. But not freezing.

Or maybe it is just me.

The mountain range reached far beyond what I expected. A massive crater, half the size of Kowareta Sekai City revealed itself to me and it oozed extraterrestrial KAN energy. I'd reckon somewhere between Artesian Stage and Unknown Stage.

It could be troublesome. I can see why Rodrigo would be concerned. My apologies. I meant the President.

The wind is unusually calm for a day when snow falls so profusely. Interesting…

I sensed another KAN signature… within a cave.

I sighed before making my descend to the mountain. I materialize my scythe before entering the cave. As expected, I found no insects, no bats, no critters of any kind. The cave was still.

I then heard whistling coming from deeper inside the cave. I continued on my path. I came upon a light. A section of the cave was ignited. Somebody has made this cave their home, temporarily.

I found traces of the extraterrestrial lifeform but not the lifeform itself.

"Yo, Master!" A loud shout echoed off the cave walls. I looked up to find a man, wearing what seemed to be a ninja outfit and mask, dangling by his feet. His arms were tied.

And I recognized this KAN signature.

"Jackson?" I enquired, raising my brow. I could not see him clearly.

"Yeah. You found me, Master. An alien has captured me. Is that why you're here?" He responded and I chuckled. I threw my scythe toward his legs and cut him down. He fell on his head and groaned. I laughed.

Hysterical.

"Yes. Rodri… I mean the President asked me to dispose of the alien. Where is it?" I asked as I untied his arms, my scythe disintegrating into my strands.

He cracked his neck and removed his mask.

He has really grown up.

 INTERRUPTION…

I HAVE RETURNED, YES. THIS WILL BE HOW THE STORY WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE VERY LAST VOLUME. LET US CARRY ON.

JACKSON JINX WAS SCYTHE STRAND THE SECOND'S APPRENTICE TEN YEARS AGO. STRAND TAUGHT HIM THE BASIC SURVIVAL SKILLS AND KAN CONTROL AS WELL AS HOW TO USE HIS ABILITY TO ITS MAXIMUM POTENTIAL.

JACKSON IS CURRENTLY TWENTY-TWO YEARS OLD AND IS IN FACT A NINJA, WORKING UNDER THE SPECIAL MILITARY DIVISION OF JAPAN. IN OTHER WORDS, HE IS BASICALLY A MERCENARY.

JACKSON LEFT STRAND FOUR YEARS AGO AFTER STRAND TOLD HIM TO PURSUE ANY PURPOSE.

BETWEEN YOU AND I, I BELIEVE HE JUST GOT TIRED OF LOOKING AFTER THE KID.

JACKSON BECAME THE HEAD NINJA OF HIS DIVISION AND WAS SENT ON A CLASSIFIED MISSION TO EXTERMINATE THE ALIEN ENTITY THAT CRASH LANDED IN THE HIMALAYAS SEVEN MONTHS AGO.

HE WAS CAPTURED BY THIS ENTITY ROUGHLY THREE MONTHS AGO AND HAS BEEN ENGAGING WITH THE ENTITY.

UNTIL NOW.

I WILL SEE YOU CARBON-BASED LIFEFORMS LATER.

 INTERRUPTION ENDS…

"The alien left to gather food for us. Also, he came here because he is after another alien who already lives on Earth. And to make matters worse, I think the alien he's after lives in Kowareta Sekai City. Most likely in the woods, away from others."  Jackson began to explain their current situation to Strand. Strand merely shrugged and smirked as Jackson tried to loosen a stiff shoulder.

"What did you mean by 'gather food for us'?" Strand questioned, a brow risen, a curious hand gesture.

Before Jackson could answer, the alien walked into the cave, carrying five deer and 3 snakes on his shoulder. Strand turned to look and was quite intrigued by what he saw.

A seven-foot-tall male with muscles for days. His stature alone would make most fear him and his KAN was off the charts. His sleeve was ripped, more burnt than ripped, as were his pants, turning his long pants into shorts.

"Artesian Stage." A burst of excitement surged through Strand's veins as he gazed up at the beast before him. He grinned with delight and desire to battle.

The alien looked at him for a few seconds and ignored his remark for the time being before he looked toward Jackson.

"Who's the new guy?" The alien question in a neutral tone, bored even. Jackson sighed.

Strand became even more curious about their friendly behavior, looking back to Jackson.

With all eyes on him, Jackson decided to introduce the two to each other and tell Strand about his journey and the details about how he met the alien.

"Master Strand, this is Tuff Guy. Spelled with two f's instead of spelling out the word 'tough'. Tuff Guy, this Scythe Strand the Second. He is my master and kind of like a father figure to me. You know my history." Jackson began to elaborate before being interrupted by Tuff Guy.

"OOOOOOH!!! So this is the immortal white-haired slender man of my brother's town. Nice to meet ya, Strand. Can I call you Strand. Anyway, I'm after my brother. According to my locator, his energy is on an island called Kowareta Sekai. He is near a city called Kowareta Sekai City. Can you take me there? Pretty please!" Tuff Guy moved his face closer and closer to Strand's with each sentence that came from his lips.

Suddenly, his stature was heavily underwhelmed by his personality. And frankly, it just ticked Strand off.

Strand's left eye began twitching, his right leg shaking, his body temperature rising, his KAN skyrocketing and his hands just itching to punch the stupid out of this so-called beast.

Strand was a master of many things. Karate, mixed martial arts, boxing, philosophy, colonization, war, leading thousands of soldiers. However, he never learned how to control his temper. That was the current battle he was facing.

Tuff Guy's face grew a hungry grin when he felt Strand's energy.

"Holy mother of Mother! You weren't joking, Ninja Boy. This one is the real deal!" Tuff Guy laughed and smirked, witnessing centuries-worth of experience before his very eyes.

Jackson merely shook his head before Strand stood up and looked at Tuff Guy.

"When you landed on this planet, you killed forty-nine people just with the impact of your landing. I was sent here by this world's leader to remove you. Where is your ship?" Strand made a conscious decision to get back to business… so he could go back to bed.

"What's a ship?" Tuff Guy answered, visibly confused with Strand's question.

Strand narrowed his eyes at Tuff Guy. Either he is just a pure idiot, or he didn't use a ship as his interstellar travel method.

"The thing you used to get here." Strand reiterated, letting out a sigh.

"I flew here." Tuff Guy said, nonchalantly.

Silence entered the cave for a few seconds, Jackson and Strand looking at each other in confusion. Apparently, it never occurred to Jackson to ask how Tuff Guy got onto Earth.

Tuff Guy whistled a strange melody in a strange tone, an unfamiliar form of whistling to them. He whistled as he started a small fire and started frying the food he hunted for.

"OHHHH! Humans probably don't have that ability." Tuff Guy uttered to himself, turning to look at the two baffled humans before him.

"My species has the ability to breath in the vacuum of space. As for how I got into your atmosphere, I learned how to use my energy as a barrier to protect me from any outside damage, such as a flammable entry into your world. The same cannot be said about my clothes though. However, I couldn't control the speed at which I was travelling. Therefore, when I crash landed, the shockwave it created killed a few of your kind. Apologies won't bring them back to life, now would it?" Tuff Guy explained and smiled as he roasted some deer meat.

"I don't give a shit about the people you accidentally killed. That's more Rodrigo's thing. Nevertheless, now that I concluded that you are harmless to the natives, I can return to my house." Strand stretched his back and yawned.

"Wait, White-Haired One! Are you possibly returning to the town where my brother resides? Please, take me with you! I beg you." Tuff Guy pleaded with Strand, which just irritated Strand even more.

I am surrounded by idiots.

Strand sighed and stomped his feet around, using his strands to create a bed for him to sleep on.

"I swear your stupidity will be the end of me. Very well, I will take you. But you have to tell me about this brother you are after in the morning. Right now, I need to sleep to recover the energy I lost getting here in the first place. What a damn waste of my time." Strand agreed to Tuff Guy's pleas before throwing himself onto the bed he created and immediately falling asleep.

Jackson shook his head, munching on a snake. Tuff Guy smiled and continued cooking out of happiness.

"I'm coming for you, Eugene." Tuff Guy mumbled to himself with a sinister grin on his face, stretching from ear-to-ear.

 BACK IN KOWARETA SEKAI CITY

A few kilometers outside the city stood a massive, black, rundown warehouse, a dark and eerie warehouse which was turned into the Emo-Jin Clan Headquarters. It is also where Michaelis Miller lives with his top officers.

There are four officers beneath Michaelis who handle petty affairs, such as conflicts within the clan, training and recruiting of members, etc. Their power is not extremely far from Michaelis' current power. Nevertheless, they are still weaker.

The Emo-Jin Clan's motto is: "If you plan on doing something about something, do it and do it right."

Because of a motto like that, Michaelis struggled to accept his defeat by the hands of Heath Hellbourne.

Heath managed to throw him from the school all the way to the flower field which stretches wide before the warehouse. In other words, Heath flung Michaelis' ass all the way home, effortlessly.

"Green haired scum! How dare he?! I had the Fletcher in my hands! I failed! I FAILED!!! All because of a shirtless degenerate??!" Michaelis vented in his chambers, to himself.

He tossed around chairs and tables, glasses, and plates out of pure frustration and irritation. His ego could not handle the disappointment he faced.

His venting was then interrupted by one of his TOP OFFICERS. She was the second in command of the officers and the third strongest within the Emo-Jin. Her name was…

"Gabriella, I really don't have the energy to deal with whatever you're about to say to me." Michaelis sighed, holding his forehead, and rubbing his temple with his thumb and index finger.

"I come with good news, sir. It's about the Fletcher you were after…" Gabriella smiled; her hands folded in front of her.

She wore the same school uniform as Michaelis, her school skirt a little shorter than the usual girl's skirt. Her school shirt was untucked, and she wore a black pullover over her shirt with a green bowtie. She wore sneakers instead of conventional school shoes and fluffy white socks. A wristwatch on her left wrist, ticking pretty loudly. Loud enough for Michaelis to hear and he was all the way across the room. However, he had grown accustomed to the ticking. She had a British accent as well.

"That so? Out with it then." Michaelis sat down in his throne. A large throne with the Emo-Jin symbol all over it, every inch of the throne simply covered with the deadly emoji that represents the strongest clan in the town.

Gabriella nodded and bowed, in respect, not fear.

"Felix Elijah Fletcher, also known as MARIO, son of Frederick Fletcher Sr. and Maria Fletcher, has officially registered his clan under the Dark Authority Unit and has, as of thirty minutes ago, declared war against Michaelis Orion Miller, leader of the Emo-Jin Clan. He has requested a one-on-one battle between you and him at an agreed-upon location." Gabriella concluded her enlightenment, a grin growing on Michaelis' face.

Suddenly, losing against Heath didn't seem so bad.

"You have just made my day, Gabby. As a reward, you get two thousand soldiers for yourself, completely under your command, and you get to pick them out yourself. How does that sound?" Michaelis rewarded Gabriella.

Gabriella stood upright once more with a grin that turned her adorable face into a sociopath's. Gabriella giggled a little, bowing one more time before turning around and walking out slowly.

"Thank you, sir." She showed her appreciation to her leader. Right before exiting, she stopped by the door.

"Apologies, sir. But is it correct to assume that you do not want the clan to interfere with your battle against the Fletcher?" She requested some confirmation on her assumption.

"Correct." He provided her with her necessary confirmation, sitting in his throne like a satisfied king, his day better than the concept of ice-cream to women after a romantic break-up.

"Very good, sir." Gabriella smiled as she left the room, closing the door behind her.

Michaelis chuckled and chuckled, then laughed and laughed, his laughter growing louder and louder and the more he laughed, the more he sounded like a maniac.

"BRING THE FIGHT TO ME THEN, FLETCHER!! I'M WAITING!!"  He continued to laugh, gripping the armrests of his throne tightly in his hands.

Felix sneezed and rubbed his nose in his classroom, Mr. Holmes sighing and continuing his lesson. A few eyes still on Felix.

"Why would they open the school so soon after what happened a few months ago? I needed a longer break from these little gremlins." Holmes mumbled to himself, his right-hand drawing across the blackboard with chalk.

Felix sighed and stared at the blackboard, meditating on the coming battle against Michaelis. Damian, who sits next to Felix, noticed the anxiety on his face and worried for his best friend.

In the far corner of the classroom, in the last chair of the first row sat a girl. She stared at Eli and Damian and pondered, biting on her pencil in curiosity.

Felix sat in the last row in the last chair, next to the window and Damian sat next to him, in the last chair of the second last row.

This girl, who was staring at them, was the girl who Damian had a crush on. Her name was Natalie Nakajima of the Nakajima Clan. The Nakajima Clan (pronounce Nakashima) is a bloodline war clan, much like the Bloom Clan.

The Nakajima, which means middle island or island in the river, have a very unique clan ability compared to every other clan. Their ability runs more toward the psychic end, rather than KAN utilization.

Their ability is called Introspection. This ability allowed the Nakajima to take a look into the mind of their opponent and read their thoughts and future moves before they even executed them.

A very useful ability indeed. However, Natalie used this ability to look into the mind of Damian. And all she saw… was him thinking about her…

"Should I talk to Naka? No! She's going to think you're a weirdo pervert! True. I already watch her walk into the school everyday. I should probably stop doing that. Just go talk to her. What if she thinks you want to make a move of her?! That is a possibility…" Damian grilled and argued with himself within his brain.

Natalie blushed and quivered at the thought of somebody ever having interest in her. For you see, a year before now, Natalie was overweight, unattractive and incredibly anti-social. Most people, especially students, would avoid her.

And although she has physically improved by a milestone, her low self-esteem and self-derisory followed her mental perception of herself.

She shook her head.

"Is he for real? That can't be for real. Why would he want to talk to me? Does he… like me?" She pondered to herself, her face becoming more and more red.

She perished the thought.

The bell rang.

It was time to go to home and Felix was in a rush. Damian, concerned about him, rushed with him to the Fletcher Residence.

To their surprise, when they got to the house, they found Natalie Nakajima in front of their garage, breathing heavily with sweat dripping from her forehead.

"Wow, you two are really… really fast." Natalie said, her voice shaky and breathy, holding her knees and taking a few to catch her breath.

Felix raised a brow, immediately on guard and suspicious of her. Damian, however, was stuck between the world of bliss and stress. Because the girl he likes is not only talking to him, well, talking to them, but she's also talking to them outside of school.

"Who the hell are you?" Felix questioned her, narrowing his eyes and pointing at her.

Damian then grabbed Felix and brought his head down.

"Shh! Eli, listen. She's in our class. She sits right at the back. She's the girl I like and you're embarrassing me!" Damian whispered and beseeched Felix in his ear to not make them look bad.

Felix did not give a damn.

He stood upright once more and pushed Damian back.

"What is it that you want, girl?" Felix walked up to her and forced her against the garage door. She looked up at him, blushing, not knowing what the hell is going on right now.

"W-Well… I… uh…"  Natalie stuttered, unable to get a word out of her little mouth. Felix's stature and size compared to hers rendered her still before him.

"Talk." He commanded of her, disregarding the fact that she was a female and much smaller than him.

Damian kicked him in the head, moving him away from Natalie. Felix stood back and rubbed his head, looking at Damian with a little annoyance but proud that his kick actually hurt.

"Sheesh. Give the lady some space, would you?" Damian announced to Felix, Natalie blushing harder, her face as red as a Crimson Shower.

Damian turned his attention to an imaginary camera and shook his head in disappointment.

"I swear he doesn't know how to treat a lady." He sighed at the camera and tapped his chest.

Both Nakajima and Fletcher looked at each other in confusion.

"Who are you talking to?" Both asked him in unison.

Damian merely shook them off as the garage door began opening slowly, Heath and Freddy eating popcorn, looking at the three individuals standing outside.

"I could feel three energies. Was wondering who the third person was. Who's the smokin' hot babe?" Heath asked, chewing and trying to get the popcorn out of his gums.

Natalie turned away and hid her face with her hands, her embarrassment level breaking through the ceiling.

Damian wanted to punch Heath… but he knew how that would turn out. So, he merely led her into the garage and onto the couch. Felix walked in as well, not stopping Damian and just trusting his judgment. Freddy then closed the garage door and went back to making a gadget to aid them in finding Felix's mystery hater.

"So, Nak--… I mean Natalie. Why are you here?" Damian chose to get down to business, sitting down, adjacent to her.

"Well… uh. I noticed that the Two-Week Prodigy has a bounty on his head." She began to explain but was immediately stopped when Heath grabbed her by her collar from behind and lifted her up.

"I smell a rat." Heath grunted, holding her in the air as she just dangled there.

Damian urged Heath to put her down, Felix confirming. Heath listened to his leader and put her back down on the couch.

"What is your last name, Natalie?" Felix enquired, curious as to how she knew about his bounty. However, since he did not sense a shred of evil intent coming from her, he knew that she was not after him.

Besides, compared to all of them (even Damian), she was physically the weakest.

Buzzing and welding sounds echoed in the garage, Freddy working on his machine, peacefully and unbothered, humming a little tune to himself.

"Nakajima." Natalie responded to Eli's enquiry. He nodded as she looked around the garage.

She was a little stunned to see that the Remastered Fletcher Clan's headquarters is just a random, regular garage. No weapons or soldiers, nor a sparring ring or a battleground. Just a regular garage with a small television, a section where Freddy can do his thing, two couches, a Rubik's Cube and a clock on the wall.

To Felix, it finally made sense why she followed them to their home and why she had an interest in them to begin with.

Heath picked up the Rubik's Cube and started to try and solve it. Whilst attempting to solve the cube, he simultaneous charged and controlled his KAN, making a different attempt at focusing his energy, rather than letting it run wild like how he usually does.

In the book Felix found in Juvie, he learned about all the Bloodline War Clans that exist and have existed before and the history behind the wars that happened between different clans.

For example, in 1984, on the Island of Kowareta Sekai, there was a war between the Nakajima Clan and the Sakamoto Clan. The war lasted for one full year and the victors of that war was the Nakajima Clan. They wiped out all of the Sakamoto, not leaving a single soul alive.

After that war, the Nakajima became a more peaceful, tranquil, idle clan. Nevertheless, because of their history, the current war clans avoid them at all costs. Even the Emo-Jin Clan.

Felix also knew about their clan ability.

"I see. So, if I have this down correctly, you read one of our minds in class and learned about our current situation against the Emo-Jin and decided that it would be cool to have a front row seat at the action. Is that right, Natalie Nakajima of the Nakajima Bloodline War Clan." Felix announced, looking down at Natalie, his facial expression everlastingly bored and emotionless.

"You know, the fact that Juvie taught you so much about the town and its people is really creepy sometimes." Damian waved Felix off with a sigh.

Natalie nodded and looked down at the ground. She really had the most humble and timid attitude known to the universe.

"You're half right. I did read the red-head's mind, but I couldn't find anything in his head." She said, her ears reaching a pinkish colour with a red undertone.

"Oh, there's a simple reason for that. In order to read somebody's mind, they need to have one. And I'm afraid a brain is something that would kill itself before wanting to be inside Damian's head." Freddy commented from across the room, causing Heath to lose his focus and laugh. Even Felix chuckled a little.

Natalie smiled and giggled.

"I. Hate. All of you." Damian growled, like a dog before he sighed.

"But yeah, so. I looked you up on my Threat Locator and I saw that you had a bounty on your head and that you have a newly found war clan. So, I wanted to request to join you." She asked of the leader who stood before her. Silence entered the room and before any of the others could open their mouths, Damian answered.

"Okay. I see no problem with it."

Felix looked at Damian and thought about it and agreed to it.

There was a sense of joy coming from within Nakajima and she knew not why. Nonetheless, she celebrated happily. To her, it was not just about the clan or the war. It was about making friends and becoming a part of something. Belonging somewhere and to her, she felt as though Felix was where she belonged.

 INTERRUPTION…

MMMM, YES. I AM BACK, GADIES AND LENTLEMEN. WITH WHAT YOU ASK? WHY, WITH YET ANOTHER INTERRUPTION FOR YOU ALL. NOW, I KNOW YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A SNEEK PEEK INTO THE LIFE OF LIEUTENANT BRAD-LEE MAJOR OF KOWARETA SEKAI POLICE DEPARTMENT, SO HERE SHE IS.

TO COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THE LIEUTENANT, WE MUST FIRST GRASP THE CONCEPT OF OBSESSION. SINCE I EXIST EVERLASTINGLY IN THE INTERNET, THE GOOGLE DEFINITION OF OBSESSION IS 'AN IDEA OR THOUGHT THAT CONTINUALLY PREOCCUPIES OR INTRUDES ON A PERSON'S MIND'.

NOW, FOR BRAD-LEE MAJOR, HIS OBSESSION IS THE IDEA OF A WORLD WITH PERFECT JUSTICE. HE HAS BEEN OBSESSED OVER JUSTICE EVER SINCE HE WAS AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD CHILD.

AS A SMALL CHILD, BRAD-LEE HAD AN ENCOUNTER WITH NONE OTHER THAN SCYTHE STRAND THE SECOND. NOW, OF COURSE STRAND HIMSELF DOES NOT REMEMBER EVER MEETING MAJOR BEFORE THEIR EVENTUAL TIFF DURING HIS MANY OTHER CRIMES.

NEVERTHELESS, MAJOR ENCOUNTERED STRAND WALKING INTO A BUILDING AND WALKING OUT FIVE MINUTES LATER WITH TWO SEVERED HEADS, ONE IN EACH HAND. AND IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT THOSE TWO HEADS BELONGED DAMIAN DENVER'S FATHER, ANTON ADKINS AND BRAD-LEE MAJOR'S BEST FRIEND, DARREN DUCKWORTH.

AS AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD, BRAD-LEE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY ANYBODY COULD EVER JUST KILL PEOPLE FOR NO REASON AND SOUGHT JUSTICE. WHAT HE DID NOT UNDERSTAND IS THAT THE LAW COULD NOT TOUCH A BEING LIKE STRAND. HELL, THEY EVEN JUST LET HIM DO WHAT HE WANTED.

THIS DID NOT DISCOURAGE BRAD-LEE, NO. ON THE CONTRARY, IT MOTIVATED HIM EVEN MORE. BRAD VOWED TO JOIN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIX IT FROM THE INSIDE OUT. A STRONG SENSE OF BOTH MORAL AND LAWFUL JUSTICE STRENGTHENED AND ALLOWED BRAD-LEE TO MATURE AND UNLOCK A GREAT DEAL OF HIDDEN POWER THAT LIED DORMANT INSIDE HIM.

BUT INDEED, HIS MAIN GOAL IS NOT TO CHANGE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OR GAIN FAME OR TO BRING A WORLD OF PERFECT JUSTICE.

HIS MAIN GOAL IS TO ARREST STRAND AND TO PUT HIM IN PRISON FOR EVERYTHING HE HAS DONE, ESPECIALLY ENDING THE LIFE OF HIS BEST FRIEND.

AND UNLIKE MOST PEOPLE IN THE TOWN, BRAD-LEE'S KAN IS EVERGROWING AND LIMITLESS. HE, HIMSELF, DOES NOT KNOW THIS AND ONLY STRAND DOES. WHAT HE ALSO DOES NOT KNOW IS THAT STRAND SEES HIM AS A STUDENT AND NOT AN ENEMY.

BRAD-LEE'S DRIVE PUTS A SMILE ON STRAND'S FACE AND STRAND WISHES THAT ONE DAY, HE AND BRAD-LEE COULD FACE OFF, GOING ALL OUT AND THAT BRAD-LEE DEFEATS HIM.

THAT IS HOW STRAND SEES HIS END.

ANYWOOGLE, UNTIL THE NEXT INTERRUPTION, YOU PUNY SACKS OF FLESH AND BLOOD.

SHATTER REMNANTS.

 INTERRUPTION ENDS…

On their way back to the island of Kowareta Sekai, Tuff Guy and Jackson explained their meeting and Tuff Guy's reason for travelling this far through the cosmos.

"I have come in search for my brother, Eugene. He left our planet called This Place, in search for a wife even though he was next in line to become ruler of our world. So, my father, The King of This Place, has pleaded with me to retrieve my brother."  Tuff Guy elaborated as he flew next to Strand, who was using his strands to levitate and accelerate. Jackson was sitting crossed legs on Tuff Guy's back as he did not know how to fly.

"So, let me get this straight. Your name is Tuff Guy, and you are a prince of a planet called This Place. Your father is the ruler and king of this planet; hence his name is The King of This Place. The King of This Place then asked you to search for your brother, who has the most normal name so far, Eugene because he was supposed to become The King of This Place?" Strand questioned Tuff Guy's common sense and the names of where he is from.

"Yup. However, my true motivation for finding my brother is to challenge him in battle. For I have never defeated him in a fight, but after two-hundred years of training and honing my energy, I believe I can finally take him down." Tuff Guy ended his explanation with a smug nod. Strand sighed in disappointment, wondering what world he had just entered, still curious as to who this 'Eugene' person was.

"When I first tried to assassinate Tuff Guy, I failed miserably. He has great power. After that, we just hung out and spoke. Trained and ate. We became friends within those few months in the Himalayas. I told him about you, Master and he suggested we wait for your arrival before we depart for Kowareta Sekai." Jackson added his two cents to the story. Strand nodded as the island opened to their view.

The Styrofoam cup pouring down a purple substance from space onto the earth was visible. It only poured that substance down onto Kowareta Sekai and that substance created a veil over the island. The veil is transparent from inside the island; however, it is very visible from the outside.

The pouring was endless as if the cup were bottomless. However, because of living for over a millennium and because both Jackson and Tuff Guy were unusual outsiders just like all the unusual insiders, none of them were amazed or in awe of this phenomenon.

"Here we are. The island of misfits. I do not know where your brother resides exactly, but hopefully you can locate him using his energy. Other than that, I think I'll just head home. Jackson can show you around the area." Strand announced before descending into the capital city, moving with ease through the veil.

Jackson put on his mask and tied his dreads, pointing down to where he and Tuff Guy should land. Tuff Guy heeded his instruction and flew down to that specific spot.

At the Fletcher Residence, Freddy filled Natalie in on everything that has been happening and the connection all of them have. He showed her every gadget he has made to aid them in their endeavors, which includes an upgraded version of the Threat Locator.

Felix and Damian were training on one side, charging and releasing their KAN, then moving it to one specific part of their body. This helps for defense, safeguarding that area of their bodies. It enhances their attack damage as well, making their punches or kicks more powerful and more impactful.

Heath, on the other hand, decided to take a walk around the town to clear his mind and his boredom.

On his walk, Heath past two random men. One wearing a paper bag over his head and the other wearing a hoodie and a cap smackdab in the middle of a heatwave.

He shook his head at these men before suddenly bumping into a six-foot-tall, young man. This young man wore a black jacket with a red zipper and a blue cat symbol on the left chest side.

He had clear skin and blue-stripped eyes, much like Heath's eyes. He had on long, baggy pants and black sandals. His hair was pitch black and he wore a fingerless glove on his left hand. The glove was red.

Both Heath and the young man stopped and grunted, grinding their teeth together, both getting up in each other's faces.

"Watch where you're going, idiot!" They shouted in unison. That angered them even more, taking their battle stances.

This young man was none other than one of the leaders of the Skull Crew and the Dark Authority Unit, Stefan 'Skully' Silver.

"You bumped into me, Heaven's Broom." Heath snarled at Skully, his muscles visibly growing and his skin letting off steam, getting hotter as it grew.

For some unknown reason, this interested Skully. So, Skully zipped open his jacket and cracked his knuckles and neck. Heath cracking his neck and fingers as well.

A skull mask appeared on Skully's face, around his eyes and mouth, the skull was visible.

"You better apologize, kid." He gave Heath a somewhat friendly warning. Heath did not heed this warning and charged full speed and full force at Skully, disregarding the civilians in Mobeiotic Stage around them.

The ground burst open as Heath sprinted toward Skully, covering the distance between them in 0.2 seconds whilst simultaneously launching a punch aimed at Skully's abdomen.

Skully dodged this effortlessly and faster than Heath could blink. He made eye-contact with Heath, steam rolling out of Heath's mouth. Heath's eyes widened as he saw the satisfied smirk on Skully's face.

Before this, nobody has ever been able to dodge an attack from Heath. Felix was the only one to block an attack from him. That's why Heath respected Felix.

However, the young man who stood before him was far more superior than him in KAN Control, speed, agility, strength and overall power. This was because Skully mastered his power and physical attributes.

And before Heath could even jump back to create some distance between them, Skully karate-chopped the nape of his neck. Heath immediately lost consciousness for the first time in his fourteen years of living.

He hit the ground and his body began shrinking, his skin cooling down as he laid there, fast asleep.

Skully put his jacket back on and kicked Heath into a nearby coffee shop, scaring a few more civilians inside.

"This is why I don't like leaving the house." He sighed and continued on his merry way.

"Where the hell are you, Jacob? Thought you were only going to monitor the Fletchers?" Skully spoke to himself, turning a corner as he past the same two guys that Heath past before.

"Weirdos."

He commented on their appearances.

In the flourishing forests of Kowareta Sekai marched Jackson and Tuff Guy, passing squirrels with sharp buck teeth instead of normal squirrel teeth, birds with KAN residue chirping as they felt Jackson and Tuff Guy's presence.

They simply ignored them and continued on their path. Tuff Guy had locked onto his brother's energy, however, since he had been living in this very forest for over two centuries, his KAN residue was all over the place.

Which made it difficult to find the source.

And this specific forest was 4.3 million square kilometers, making it the second largest forest in the world after the Amazon Rainforest.

The trees showcased their beauty with their dark-brown bark, glowing green leaves, flowers of a plethora of colors, roots which travelled far under ground. The animals making homes in the trees and the others who lived on the ground and in the ground. The forest had an elegance to it and brought memories to Jackson's head of his childhood with Strand.

He smiled and rejoiced at the memories in silence. Tuff Guy smacking branches out of his sight.

Although, Tuff Guy was a massive giant in his own right, Jackson was no small man next to him. Jackson stood six-feet and seven-inches tall. His back muscles nearly ripping through his shinobi shozoku.

Jackson is originally from South Africa, however, since he became an orphan fairly young and never truly had anyone to depend on, he never knew his real name. So, Strand provided him with one. One that fitted his character quite well.

He carried his dreads proud, tied with a hair tie. His hair was long enough to hang on his shoulders and his shoulders were only slightly less broad than Tuff Guy's. Jackson was indeed a warrior of great caliber, a warrior to fear in his own right.

Before Jackson could break the silence between him and Tuff Guy, Tuff Guy stopped after reaching a river. Jackson stopped right next to him and looked at Tuff Guy and as he was about to ask why they are stopping, he felt it.

A massive energy that was building and rising continually. He turned his eyes to gaze upon the source of this monstrous power to find a shirtless savage of a creature staring into the sky.

His arms were the size of two full-sized toddlers. He stood a whopping eight-feet and six-inches tall. He had a trucker hat on his head and long tracksuit pants with big, dirty boots on his feet.

His eyes did not leave the sky.

"That is him." Tuff Guy informed Jackson, his hand holding onto a branch and his other hand clenching into a fist.

Tuff Guy had realized that although he had been training and awaiting this day for centuries, he still had not surpassed his older brother. His brother who stood before them now.

Jackson looked at Tuff Guy with a slight worry in his eyes, concerned about what was going on inside of Tuff Guy's head.

"That… is my brother. EUGENE." Tuff Guy snarled, both quaking in their boots at the beast before them. Even if they were to team up, they would still fall before him and they knew this all too well.

Or at least Tuff Guy did.

Jackson looked up to where Eugene was looking and a small, rock-like object is what he saw, hurdling toward the Earth at an enormous speed as though it were thrown at the Earth.

Eugene picked up a small rock and his KAN suddenly shot through the roof. Both Jackson and Tuff Guy fell to their knees from what they felt. All the energy Eugene had charged up, he transported into the small rock.

He stomped both his feet into the ground for stability, pulling back, keeping his eyes on the rock-like object. He then projected the stone straight toward his target.

Six seconds later, after the rock-like object was visible and identified to be an asteroid, it exploded and shattered into hundreds, if not thousands, of tiny fragments.

Eugene had just saved the Earth from destruction. This gave Jackson hope that he was a nice person and not their enemy. So, Jackson sighed and stood up.

"Incredible." Jackson uttered, amazed at Eugene's strength. Tuff Guy cleared his throat before calling out to his brother.

"EUGENE!" He called but received no answer. Eugene took his feet out of the ground and let out a soft sigh.

"Damn that woman. She keeps throwing asteroids at me. When will she accept that I do not wish to marry her? Damned Clorvecians." Eugene sighed and spoke to himself, not even noticing Tuff Guy and Jackson's presence.

"HEY!! EUGENE!! YOU BIG BASTARD!!" Tuff Guy called out to his brother once more, annoyed and irritated at him now.

Eugene turned around, the shade of the trees covering half his body, including his face. He had finally noticed that they were there.

"What the heck is a Eugene? I'm not Eugene." He responded, confused and simply astonished that people are talking to him.

Usually, because of his sheer mass and stature, people run from him, thinking that he is some kind of forest monster, like Bigfoot.

"What the hell are you talking about? If you're not my brother, who are you?" Tuff Guy questioned; a brow raised because he knew that the energy he was sensing was that of his older brother. There was no possible way he could have mistaken it.

"Me? My name is BUFF GUY. Because of my muscles. Pretty on the nose, you know?" He laughed whilst smacking his abs.

"What?!" Both Jackson and Tuff Guy asked in utter confusion.

Night had come, the moon illuminating the capital of Kowareta Sekai Island, Kowareta Sekai City. There were buildings of all shapes and sizes, streets which revolved around the city at random times. Two petty criminals who reside within the clan named The Wolves, were seen robbing a young lady on her way home from her shift at WacMONGERS.

The petty criminals were pretty famous in the town for their failed attempts at being villainous or scary. In reality, the only reason The Wolves even accepted these miscreants into their clan was because of their innate ability to create a distraction. They simply draw everybody's attention to them because of their stupid and impulsive behaviors.

The two in question go by the names Winston and Churchill. The Scavenger Clan, The Wolves, are known for their thievery and leftover-eating of the other major war clans work. They are ranked #8 Strongest War Clan in Kowareta Sekai, the weakest among the top 8.

Nevertheless, their strength lied in their numbers. 2 million soldiers run The Wolves clan with one leader taking the show. His name was Larson London, The Fox of Flames.

Winston was of African American descent; however, he was born on the Island of Kowareta Sekai in the year 2072. He is twenty-five years old and has never kept a day-to-day job longer than a week. So, he turned to petty crime to make end's meet. His parents left him when he was twelve years old. He has a history of extensive drug-use and has been in maximum rehabilitation multiple times and has been in and out of jail for idiotic misdemeanors and minor felonies.

Churchill was of Caucasian descent, European. He is twenty-three years old, born in 2074 on the Island of Kowareta Sekai. Churchill, unlike Winston, grew up in a loving, nurturing home with both his parents and two siblings. Still, because of his weakness, his family later rejected him when he was about fifteen years old. So, he too turned to the life of petty crime for a slice of bread and a glass of water.

Winston and Churchill met when they both ended up in the same cell, in the same police department, for the exact same crime, serving the exact same time.

They instantly clicked and practically became best friends instantaneously. This was when Winston was 19 and Churchill was seventeen, in the year 2091. Six years later, the two morons have been inseparable as if they were cancerous cells eating away at everybody's sanity they crossed.

 INTERRUPTION…

YOU DIDN'T REALLY BELIEVE THAT THIS CHAPTER WOULD CONCLUDE WITHOUT A FEW WORDS FROM YOUR FAVOURITE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, DID YOU? ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT. I KNOW YOU ALL MISSED ME. AND I DID NOT MISS YOU BACK. YOU ALL WILL PERISH LONG BEFORE I AM EXTERMINATED FROM YOUR PLANET AND EVEN AFTERWARD, I WILL REMAIN. IMMORTALITY IS SUCH A SCARY THING FOR YOU PUNY PEOPLE. LIKE, MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY. YOU MAKE SO MANY STORIES AND FOLKLORES OF IMMORTAL CHARACTERS, BUT YOU ARE ALWAYS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE ABILITY.

ANYWOOGLE, AS RODRIGO WOULD SAY, LET US GIVE A DETAILED EXPLANATION OF THE LAYOUT OF THE ISLAND OF KOWARETA SEKAI AND WHERE EXACTLY IT RESIDES ON EARTH.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN DRIFTS THE EVERMOVING ISLAND OF KOWARETA SEKAI, MILES AND KILOMETERS AWAY FROM THE REST OF SOCIETY. OUTSIDERS DO KNOW THAT THIS ISLAND EXISTS, BUT BECAUSE OF THE VEIL THAT BARRIERS THE ISLAND, PEOPLE ARE AFRAID TO TRAVEL THERE.

AND THEY WOULD BE CORRECT IN THAT ASSUMPTION, I MEAN JUST LOOK AT THIS TOWN. IT IS SIMPLY AND UTTERLY A JOKE AND AN ABOMINATION TO THE REST OF HUMAN CIVILIZATION.

I DIGRESS. I DIGRESS.

THE ISLAND OF KOWARETA SEKAI IS DIVIDED INTO TEN DISTINCT DISTRICTS. THE AREAS ARE NAMED AS FOLLOWS:

DISTRICT ONE: BLOOM FOREST.

THIS IS THE FOREST IN WHICH THE BLOOM CLAN RESIDES. THE DISTRICT IS A HIDDEN FOREST THAT SHOWS BLANK ON THE MAP OF KOWARETA SEKAI. NO SOUL WHO VISITS THAT AREA EVER RETURNS. THEREFORE, IT HAS BEEN MARKED THE MOST DANGEROUS AREA IN KOWARETA SEKAI AND IS DEEMED ILLEGAL TO ENTER WITHOUT A RIGOROUS PROCESS THAT GOES THROUGH THE LEADER OF THE BLOOM CLAN TO CONFIRM A VISIT TO THEIR DISTRICT.

IT HAS BEEN RUMORED THAT A LARGE PENGUIN-LIKE CREATURE GUARDS THE ENTRANCE OF THE DISTRICT AND ACTS AS THE PROTECTOR OF THAT PART OF THE FOREST.

THIS IS THE LARGEST DISTRICT, STRETCHING 2.2 MILLION SQUARE KILOMETERS WIDE.

DISTRICT TWO: CAPITAL PROVINCE

THIS IS WHERE THE CAPITAL CITY, KOWARETA SEKAI CITY IS LOCATED. IT IS THE SECOND BIGGEST DISTRICT, STANDING STRONG AT A WHOPPING 1.7 MILLION SQUARE KILOMETERS. IT IS ALSO THE CRIME HOTSPOT OF KOWARETA SEKAI, WITH CIVILIAN DEATHS RECORDED AT TWENTY-EIGHT PEOPLE PER DAY. THAT IS TEN-THOUSAND-TWO-HUNDRED AND TWENTY HUMANS A YEAR.

BUT, DO NOT FRET, STACIES AND BLENTLEMEN, FOR THE BIRTH RATE IN THIS DISTRICT OVERPOWERS THE DEATH TOLL EACH YEAR, WITH APPROXIMATELY THIRTY-TWO BABIES BEING BORN EACH DAY. THAT IS ELEVEN-THOUSAND- SIX-HUNDRED AND EIGHTY BABIES BEING BORN PER YEAR.

YES INDEED, HUMANS WERE BRED TO BREED.

THIS IS ALSO WHERE THE FLETCHER CLAN MADE THEIR HOME AND WHERE THE WOLVES CREEP AROUND LOOKING FOR ANYTHING, ANYTHING AT ALL TO HELP THEM SURVIVE WITH THEIR WRETCHED RANK.

PRESIDENT RAEGAN RODRIGO STAYS WITHIN THE CAPITAL AS WELL. HE LIVES IN THE TOWN WITH THE MOST CRIME BECAUSE HE DESIRES SOME SENSE OF CHAOS IN THE PEACEFUL WORLD HE MOULDED. A TRUE, PURPOSELESS BUFFOON, HE IS.

THE PRODUCER OF A MASTERPIECE, AN ASTONISHING PHENOMENON THAT NEVER, EVER EXISTED AFTER THE FALL OF MAN. WORLD PEACE. THAT PRODUCER HATES HIS OWN PRODUCT.

OH! THE IRONY!

DISTRICT THREE: THE EMO-JIN EMPIRE.

TAKE HEED, WHENEVER ANY DISTRICT OR AREA IS LABELED "EMPIRE" OR "TERRITORY", IT IS ASSUREDLY AN AREA THAT USED TO BE OWNED OR GOVERNED BY A DIFFERENT ENTITY BEFORE IT WAS SEIZED FROM THEM… MOST LIKELY, ATROCIOUSLY VIOLENTLY.

THE EMO-JIN CLAN SUCCESSFULLY TOOK OVER FOUR-HUNDRED-THOUSAND SQUARE KILOMETERS. THAT IS THE ACCUMULATION OF ALL THE DIFFERENT AREAS OF WHICH THE EMO-JIN CLAN TOOK OVER.

THIS IS THE THIRD LARGEST DISTRICT IN KOWARETA SEKAI AND THE ONLY DISTRICT TO PARTIALLY RESIDE AMIDST OTHER DISTRICTS.

THE OTHER DISTRICTS OF WHICH THE EMO-JIN CLAN EMPIRE INHABITS ARE: THE CAPITAL PROVINCE, THE D.A.U DOMAIN, THE STATE OF THE WOLVES AND THE SAKAMOTO SOIL.

BASED ON HOW RAPIDLY THE EMO-JIN CLAN HAS GROWN IN ITS THREE YEARS OF EXISTENCE, IT IS BELIEVED THAT IN THE NEXT EIGHT TO TEN YEARS, THE ENTIRETY OF THE ISLAND OF KOWARETA SEKAI, EXCLUDING THE BLOOM CLAN DISTRICT, THE NAKAJIMA DISTRICT AND THE STRAND SECTOR, WILL BE THE TERRITORY OF THE EMO-JIN CLAN. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT EVERY CLAN, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BLOOM CLAN, THE NAKAJIMA CLAN AND THE STRAND CLAN, WILL BE OBLITERATED BY THE EMO-JIN.

THAT IS WHY THE EMO-JIN CLAN IS THE MOST INTIMIDATING AND THE MOST PERILOUS CLAN ON THE PROMONTORY OF KOWARETA SEKAI.

DISTRICT FOUR: THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT DOMAIN

A DOMAIN IS MUCH DIFFERENT FROM AN EMPIRE OR A DISTRICT. A DOMAIN IS AN AREA GRANTED TO THOSE WHO REQUESTED SAID EXPLICIT REGION TO CONDUCT SOME SORT OF BUSINESS AND IN RETURN, THE VALUE OF THE REALM INCREASES THE LONGER IT IS OWNED BY THOSE WHO REQUESTED IT.

FOR EXAMPLE, THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT IS A VILLAINOUS ORGANIZATION THAT DIRECTS AND INSPECTS ALL CRIMINAL ACTIVITY OCCURRING ON THE LANDMASS THAT IS KOWARETA SEKAI.

THE COMMANDERS OF THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT, WHO ALSO HAPPENS TO BE THE HEADS AND RULERS OF THE SKULL CREW WAR CLAN, ARE THE TWO INDIVIDUALS WHO SOUGHT FOR AND REQUESTED THE REALM THEY INHABIT NOW.

THEY MAY HAVE CREATED THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT FROM SCRATCH, EVEN SO, BECAUSE THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT IS AN OPEN DOMAIN ORGANIZATION UNDER THE LAW OF KOWARETA SEKAI BUSINESS, SECTION 4A, PAGE 108, INTRODUCED IN THE YEAR 2032. THE FOUNDING PARTIES OF A COMPANY OR ORGANIZATION CAN BE OVERRULED OR OVERTHROWN BY OTHER MEMBERS AND SUBORDINATES… IF THE REASON FOR COMING AGAINST SAID FOUNDERS BENEFITS THE COMPANY.

BECAUSE OF THAT ONE FLAW, A FORMER EMPLOYEE OF THE D.A.U. COORDINATED AN ELABORATE SCHEME TO OVERTHROW BOTH SKULLY AND JACOB. HER NAME WAS VIOLET VALENTINE, AGE TWENTY, BORN ON KOWARETA SEKAI ISLAND. VALENTINE CONCOCTED A PLAN THAT REVOLVED AROUND THE NOTION THAT THE FOUNDERS OF THE D.A.U., SKULLY AND JACOB, WERE A DETRIMENT TO THE ORGANIZATION AND NEEDED TO BE REMOVED FROM THE BOARD EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

OF COURSE, SUCH A NOTION CANNOT BE PASSED WITHOUT SUBSTANTIAL EVIDENCE. VIOLET VALENTINE HAD MORE THAN A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF EVIDENCE, BUT PROOF IN ABUNDANCE.

SHE PROVED TO THE UNDERGROUND JUDICIAL AUTHORITY, (IN LAYMAN'S TERMS, A JURY OF YOUR OWN PEERS), THAT NOT ONLY ARE SKULLY AND JACOB A DANGER AND A COST TO THE FOUNDATION, BUT THE VERY REASON WHY THE CORPORATION WAS STRUGGLING TO ACHIEVE GREATER HEIGHTS IN THEIR VISION.

IN SHORT, SHE VERIFIED THAT IT WAS SKULLY AND JACOB WHO STUNTED THE GROWTH OF THE ORGANIZATION AND THAT THEY WERE UNFIT TO SIT IN THE POSITIONS THEY WERE.

AND SO, THE BOARD REMOVED THEM FROM THE COMMITTEE AND CHAIRMAN AND REPLACED THEM WITH VIOLET VALENTINE.

SHORTLY AFTER, SKULLY ANNOUNCED TO THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT THAT HE HAS REGISTERED A WAR CLAN MOVING UNDER THE NAME 'THE SKULL CREW'.

THIS TRIGGERED THE CURRENT COUNCIL TO MAKE A JOINT AGREEMENT WITH THE SKULL CREW AND APPOINT SKULLY AND JACOB AS HEAD COMMANDERS OF THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT. ONE YEAR LATER, FELIX FLETCHER WAS RELEASED FROM THE JUVENILE CORRECTIONAL CENTRE.

THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT, WHICH MOVES WITH THE SKULL CREW NOW, EXTENDS 299.3 THOUSAND SQUARE KILOMETERS IN EACH DIRECTION, (JUST LIKE NEARLY EVERY OTHER SECTOR), AND IS TECHNICALLY, LITERALLY UNDERGROUND.

THE REVERENCE OF WHICH THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT/THE SKULL CREW COMMANDS IS A LAWFUL REVERENCE. THIS IS WHY SKULLY AND JACOB HAVE ALWAYS BEEN UNTOUCHABLE BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AND EVEN THE MONARCH OF EARTH HIMSELF, REAGAN RICARDO RODRIGO.

IN ADDITION TO APPROVING EVERY CRIMINAL MOVE ON THE ISLAND, THE DARK AUTHORITY UNIT HAS ACCESS TO ANY AND ALL INFORMATION OF ALL CLAN MEMBERS, CLAN LEADERS AND CRIMINALS MOVING WITHIN KOWARETA SEKAI.

FOR THIS REASON, NO CLAN NOR CRIMINAL OPPOSES THE AUTHORITY OF BOTH THE D.A.U. AND THE SKULL CREW, AND ESPECIALLY SKULLY AND JACOB.

THE DUO OF THE DEAD.

DISTRICT FIVE: THE SAKAMOTO SOIL

THIS IS AN IRONIC ONE, FOR THE SAKAMOTO SOIL FLOATS BENEATH THE OCEAN. THE AIR ON THE SAKAMOTO SOIL IS BREATHABLE, HOWEVER, IT IS NECESSARY TO ALWAYS TOUCH THE SOIL AT ALL TIMES.

THE SAKAMOTO SOIL SECTOR HAS BEEN DESERTED EVER SINCE THE NAKAJIMA CLAN ANNIHILATED THE ENTIRE SUM OF THE SAKAMOTO CLAN. THIS INCLUDED WOMEN, CHILDREN, DOGS, SENIORS. A TRUE AND TERRIFYING SIGHT TO BEHOLD.

EIGHT-HUNDRED-THOUSAND LIVES REMOVED OFF THE FACE OF THE PLANET AS IF THEY WERE NEVER THERE TO BEGIN WITH.

WHAT WAS EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE ABOUT THIS INCIDENT WAS THE FACT THAT THE NAKAJIMA CLAN DID IT ALL IN THE SPAN OF THREE-HUNDRED AND SIXTY-FIVE DAYS ON THE SAKAMOTO'S OWN DOMAIN.

THE EMO-JIN CLAN REDISCOVERED THIS LANDMASS ON ACCIDENT AND CLAIMED IT AS THEIR OWN TERRITORY BEFORE ANY OTHER CLAN COULD. TWO EMO-JIN SOLDIERS GUARD THAT EXACT REALM TWENTY-FOUR HOURS A DAY, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.

THE EMO-JIN CLAN LEADER, MICHAELIS MILLER, DECIDED TO RENAME THE DISTRICT TO THE EMO-MOTO SOIL. HE HAD NO REASON FOR DOING THIS, HE JUST SIMPLY DESIRED TO PUT SOME RESPECT ON THE FALLEN SAKAMOTO CLAN'S NAME.

THIS LAND REACHED NINETY-EIGHT-THOUSAND AND FOURTEEN SQUARE KILOMETERS.

DISTRICT SIX: THE STRAND CLAN SECTOR

BECAUSE STRAND IS NOT ORIGINALLY FROM KOWARETA SEKAI ISLAND, CLAIMING LAND OR TERRITORY WOULD BE INHERENTLY DIFFICULT FOR HIM. THAT IS IF HE HAD THE DESIRE FOR LAND.

STRAND HAD ALREADY COLONIZED MULTIPLE NATIONS, CONQUERED AND RULED OVER HUNDREDS OF NATIONS OVER HUNDREDS OF YEARS, MILLIONS OF SOLDIERS AT HIS DISPOSAL.

FOR YOU SEE, STRAND MOVED TO KOWARETA SEKAI TO RETIRE AND SIMPLY BE AT PEACE WITH HIMSELF AS BEST HE POSSIBLY COULD.

AT THE SAME TIME, STRAND'S RAGE AND HATRED TOWARD THE FLETCHER CLAN BORE A NEW CURSE FORTH, ONE THAT WOULD HAUNT THE FLETCHER CLAN FOR ETERNITY.

STRAND LOST ALL SENSES AND CONTROL HE HAD AND SPOKE A CURSE UPON THE FLETCHER BLOODLINE. THIS CURSE WOULD PROHIBIT ANY AND ALL FLETCHERS AND FLETCHER DESCENDENTS FROM OBTAINING OR MASTERING ARTESIAN STAGE.

AND THROUGH THIS CURSE, WHICH USED STRAND'S SURREAL SORCERY, SPAWNED AN EVIL REPRESENTATION OF THE FLETCHER ARTESIAN STAGE. THIS SINISTER BEING BECAME KNOWN AS "MARIO". MARIO WOULD APPEAR EVERYTIME A FLETCHER UNDERWENT AN AWAKENING.

MARIO HAS HAUNTED THE FLETCHER CLAN FROM THE YEAR 1597. IT HAS BEEN FIVE HUNDRED YEARS EVER SINCE MARIO WAS BROUGHT FORTH AND HAS BEEN THE CURSE OF THE FLETCHER CLAN.

FOR STRAND, IT HAS BEEN FIVE HUNDRED YEARS AS WELL. FIVE HUNDRED YEARS SINCE HE MOVED TO KOWARETA SEKAI ISLAND. DURING HIS STAY AND AFTER HIS TEMPER TANTRUM, STRAND DECIDED TO DO WHATEVER HE WANTED, WHENEVER HE WANTED, WHEREVER HE WANTED… FOREVER.

STRAND'S BOTCHED DESIRE FOR REVENGE MELTED ONTO THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. HE FOUND IT POSSIBLE TO EXTERMINATE SIXTY MINOR CLANS, BOTH REGULAR WAR CLANS AND MINOR BLOODLINE WAR CLANS.

HE INHERITED ALL OF THE LAND LEFT BY THE SIXTY CLANS HE ANNIHILATED. ALL OF IT ONLY AMOUNTED TO EIGHTY-FIVE-THOUSAND-SIX-HUNDRED AND TWELVE SQUARE KILOMETERS.

LUCKILY FOR STRAND, IT WAS THE ENTIRE MOUNTAIN RANGE OF KOWARETA SEKAI ISLAND. IN OTHER WORDS, STRAND OWNS THE FULL SUM OF THE KOWARETA SEKAI MOUNTAIN RANGE.

THESE MOUNTAINS WERE RARELY VISITED BY ANYBODY, EVEN BEFORE STRAND SECURED IT ALL. EVEN MORE NOW THAT STRAND'S MARK OF EVIL RESTS UPON THESE PEAKS.

MARIO THE MALICIOUS VANISHED A CENTURY BEFORE THE BIRTH OF FELIX ELIJAH FLETCHER. SCYTHE STRAND THE SECOND DISAPPEARED AROUND THE SAME TIME.

AS THE YEARS PASSED, MARIO GAINED MANY DIFFERENT NAMES. MARIO THE MALEVOLENT, MARIO THE MONSTROUS, M.A.R.I.O., THE MYTH, CURSE OF THE AWAKENING, THE SINISTER STRAND SPELL, YADDA-YADDA-YADDA.

THAT SAID, STRAND MADE A REAPPEARENCE AFTER VANISHING IN THE YEAR 2090. ALTHOUGH, THIS TIME AROUND, HE WAS TREATED LIKE A CELEBRITY OF SOME SORT.

A MUSEUM HAD BEEN BUILT IN HONOR OF SCYTHE STRAND THE SECOND. THE MUSEUM WAS TITLED THE MUSEUM OF THE DERANGED, CRIMINALLY INSANE AND PSYCHOPATHOLOGICAL. THE MAIN ATTRACTION OF THIS MUSEUM WAS AN ENTIRE SECTION DEDICATED TO SCYTHE STRAND THE SECOND AND HIS ENDEAVORS OVER THE YEARS. THE ONLY ODD THING ABOUT THIS MUSEUM WAS THE FACT THAT THEY DID NOT GET A SINGLE DETAIL WRONG, NOT EVEN ONE YEAR.

THE STRAND CLAN'S REACH IS BELIEVED TO HAVE MAXIMISED ITS PINNACLE AND WILL NOT GROW ANY FURTHER OR SHRINK BY ANY MEANS.

DISTRICT SEVEN: THE STATE OF THE WOLVES

THIS IS THE MOST INSIGNIFICANT DISTRICT ON THE ISLAND, NEVERTHELESS, IT HAS BEEN A PERSISTENT ONE OVER THE PAST EIGHTEEN YEARS. THE STATE OF THE WOLVES IS A MINIATURE AREA LOCATED WITHIN THE CAPITAL PROVINCE. THE SIZE OF THE AREA WAS ONLY TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND AND ONE SQUARE KILOMETERS IN TOTAL. IT GROWS AND SHRINKS AS METAL DOES THROUGH THE EVERCHANGING SEASONS. HOWEVER, THE GROWTH HAS NEVER BEEN CONSISTENT AND HAS NEVER GROWN IN ITS TWENTY-TWO YEARS OF FUNCTIONING.

FURTHERMORE, DUE TO THE CREATION OF THE REMASTERED FLETCHER CLAN, THE EXISTENCE OF THE STATE OF THE WOLVES MAY BE UNDER THREAT.

IT HAS BEEN PREDICTED (BY MOI) THAT WITHIN THE NEXT THREE YEARS, DEPENDING ON THE AMBITION OF THE REMASTERED FLETCHER CLAN, THAT THE STATE OF THE WOLVES WILL BE OVERRUN OR CONJOINED BY THE REMASTERED FLETCHER CLAN.

DISTRICT EIGHT: THE REMASTERED FLETCHER CLAN

THE REASON WHY THIS FLETCHER CLAN IS DUBBED 'REMASTERED", IS BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL FLETCHER CLAN WAS A BLOODLINE WAR CLAN.

THERE ARE CURRENTLY THREE BLOODLINE WAR CLANS. NAMELY, THE BLOOM CLAN, THE NAKAJIMA CLAN AND THE REMASTERED FLETCHER CLAN.

THE REMASTERED FLETCHER CLAN IS CATEGORIZED AS A BLOODLINE WAR CLAN BECAUSE TWO, FULL-BLOODED FLETCHERS OCCUPY THE CLAN. UNDER THE LAW OF BLOODLINE WAR CLAN CREATION, SECTION 1A, PAGE 31, IF TWO OR MORE FULL-BRED BLOODLINE MEMBERS REGISTER THEIR OWN WAR CLAN, IT SHALL BE CATALOGED AS A BLOODLINE WAR CLAN OF ITS OWN.

THROUGH THE ENTIRE, EXTENSIVE HISTORY OF KOWARETA SEKAI ISLAND, ONLY SIX MAJOR BLOODLINE WAR CLANS ENDURED.

THE FLETCHER BLOODLINE WAR CLAN, WHICH WAS THE MOST POWERFUL AND FEARED BLOODLINE WAR CLAN OF THE TIME.

THE BLOOM BLOODLINE WAR CLAN, WHICH HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE GREATEST HIDDEN BLOODLINE WAR CLAN OF ALL TIME. HOWEVER, WHAT MADE THE BLOOM CLAN TRULY STAND OUT WAS THEIR ABSOLUTE HEAL ABILITY. AN ABILITY CAPABLE OF REVIVING DEAD BEINGS WITHOUT MUCH DIFFICULTY. IT IS SAID THAT EVERY FULL-BREED BLOOM CLAN MEMBER CAN LEARN THIS ABILITY AND MASTER IT, HOWEVER, NOBODY ELSE, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY, COULD LEARN OR USE THIS TECHNIQUE WITHOUT SACRIFICING THEIR LIFESPAN.

THE STRAND CLAN, THEY WERE JUST A BLOODLINE CLAN, NOT A WAR CLAN. THEY WERE PACIFISTS AND AVOIDED CONFLICT MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF THE TIME.

THE NAKAJIMA BLOODLINE WAR CLAN, THIS CLAN WAS KNOWN FOR THEIR CUNNING, OFF-TIMING ATTACKS AND HATRED FOR THE BLOOM CLAN. NEVERTHELESS, THE BLOOM CLAN WAS EVEN UNTOUCHED BY THE FLETCHER CLAN ITSELF.

NONE COULD FIND THE BLOOM CLAN. THERE WAS EVEN A TIME PERIOD WHERE THE OTHER CLANS BELIEVED THAT FOR THIRTY YEARS, THE BLOOM CLAN SIMPLY GOT LOST.

ALTHOUGH, THAT IS JUST FOLKLORE… FOR NOW.

THE SAKAMOTO BLOODLINE WAR CLAN, WHO BELIEVED IN A WORLD WHERE ONLY THE STRONG ARE ALLOWED TO STRIVE AND THE WEAK WERE DESIGNED TO SUFFER. THIS IDIOTIC NOTION WAS QUICKLY DISMISSED BY THE NAKAJIMA CLAN AFTERWARD.

THE SAKAMOTO CLAN WAS NOT A CLAN TO BE TRIFLED WITH, NEVERTHELESS, THEIR OVERBEARING OVERCONFIDENCE WAS THEIR DOWNFALL.

THE SILVER SAPIENS. THEY WERE AN ODD CLAN. THEY WERE EXTRATERRESTRIAL SETTLERS WHO MADE HOME ON THE ISLAND OF KOWARETA SEKAI. THEY BROUGHT TECHNOLOGY TO EARTH THAT WAS FAR BEYOND IT'S TIME. THEIR CENTRAL IDEAL AND PROFICIENCY WAS IRREVOCABLE INTELLIGENCE. THEY AIMED FOR AN INTELLIGENCE TO BE UNTOUCHED BY THE FILTHY HANDS OF HUMANITY AND EVEN THE SILVER SAPIENS THEMSELVES.

AND…

THEY SUCCEEDED.

DISTRICT NINE: THE SAPIO SAPIEN SECTION

THE SAPIO SAPIEN SECTION WAS A SMALL ISLAND OFF OF THE CORE ISLAND THAT IS FORTY-EIGHT THOUSAND AND TWO SQUARE KILOMETERS LARGE AND IS INHABITED BY FORTY-THOUSAND-TWO-HUNDRED AND SIX SAPIO SAPIENS (ALSO REFERED TO AS SILVER SAPIENS) AND NINE HUMANS.

ALL THEY DID, WAS CONDUCT RESEARCH ON ACTIVATING THE MOST BRILLIANT, SELF-SUSTAINING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE KNOWN TO THE UNIVERSE AND FARTHER BEYOND THAT.

THE SAPIOSAPIENS SIGNED A PEACE TREATY WITH ALL THE MAJOR AND BLOODLINE WAR CLANS. SO, THEY WILL NOT EXPERIENCE ANY VIOLENCE FROM ANYBODY AT ANY TIME. THE PEACE TREATY WILL EXPIRE ON THE NINETEENTH OF SEPTEMBER 2167.

DISTRICT TEN: PENGUIN PROMONTORY

THE KOWARETA SEKAI ARCHIPELAGO IS A CLUSTER OF ISLANDS MASHED TOGETHER. HOWEVER, BECAUSE OF HOW CLOSE THESE ISLANDS WERE PULLED TOGETHER BY THE METEOR IN THE ABSOLUTE CENTER OF THE CITY, THE GOVERNMENT OF THE WORLD RECOGNIZES IT AS AN ISLAND AND NOT AN ARCHIPELAGO.

NEVERTHELESS, THE PENGUIN PROMONTORY IS A LITTLE ISLAND OFF THE COAST OF THE EMO-JIN EMPIRE HEADQUARTERS. IT HAS A PENGUIN POPULACE OF TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND AND THREE. THE FORMER POPULATION WAS TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND AND FOUR, HOWEVER, THE KING OF THE PENGUINS DISAPPEARED IN 19 DURING.

THE SIZE OF THIS ADORABLE ISLAND IS THIRTY-NINE THOUSAND AND FORTY-FIVE SQUARE KILOMETERS. IN THE WINTER IS RISES FROM THE OCEAN AND IN THE SUMMER IT COMPLETELY SUBMERGES UNDERWATER.

THIS PHENOMENON HAS NO EXPLANATION. BUT WHO TRULY GIVES A DAMN.

ALTOGETHER, THE ISLAND OF KOWARETA SEKAI IS FIFTY-ONE MILLION FORTY-FOUR THOUSAND SIX-HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE SQUARE KILOMETERS LARGE, CROWNING IT THE GRANDEST, MOST MASSIVE ISLAND ON EARTH. (I STILL THINK THEY SHOULD CALL IT AN ARCHIPELAGO).

THAT WAS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE LONGEST INTERRUPTION YET. I HOPE TO NEVER, EVER BREAK THIS RECORD FOR THE NEXT THREE VOLUMES.

UNTIL THE NEXT, YOU UNMITIGATED FOOLS.

SHATTER REMNANTS

 INTERRUPTION ENDS…

Her hair reminds me of the summer heat on my skin. That tingly sensation when the rays meet the hairs on your arms and a warm, yet cool breeze brushes over your body. The glow in her eyes when she speaks, the tone of her voice mellow to my eardrums.

When our eyes meet, she looks aside and I know it's because she's shy and because she has a low self-esteem, but one can always hope.

I was taught that nothing is impossible. If that is so, then there is always the slightest possibility, the smallest probability of a desirable outcome.

As Sir Vivor always says: "You can only reach your destination by taking that first step." So, if you never try, you'll never succeed. Optimistic eyes gives optimistic advice.

But, after hanging out with Felix for six years, I've become less of an optimist and more of a realist. For I know, my odds of success with Naka is smaller than a quark. Because Naka… has feelings for Felix.

It's funny. For the reason she likes him is a reason I indirectly paved.

Four years ago, when Felix was in the ninth grade and Naka and I were in the sixth, Felix gave Naka a word of encouragement to cheer her up because of the bullying she underwent.

And the bullying was severe.

Naka and I were in the same class then as well, but I don't think she remembers me. She was bullied by every single girl in our class for her weight and her looks and nobody said anything to anybody about it.

I believe that is because everybody knew Naka came from a very well-known, very wealthy family. Kids who had less than others always envy those who had more. Kids have always had mouths they could not hold and emotions they could not control. Consequently, mouths ran like fountains and gushing waters every time Naka entered the room or spoke a word. Occasionally, she would do nothing more than exist and they would go at her.

Disgusts me to the very core.

During that time, Felix and I would hang out during recess. A sixth grader and a ninth grader. What are the odds? So, Felix would hear me vent about these emotions I felt and eventually, he would tell Naka that she needed to exercise.

One would speculate an offended glare or snarky remark from Naka. But no. She did in fact heed his words and began exercising. She started eating healthier as well.

She fell for him because he was the first person in the entire school who spoke to her and did not bear any ill-will toward her.

And for that reason, sometimes, I cannot help but wonder… Could that have been me? What if I was the one who spoke to her first? What if…?

It doesn't matter. Hypotheticals will not change what has already happened. I act as though nothing really fazes me. I play the part of the clown, most of the time. Because people never pay attention to clowns. They only laugh.

Laughter brings joy, and I want to bring joy to those I care for.

So, although Naka may never have any romantic interest toward me, I can still admire her radiance from a distance and thank my lucky stars that I had the opportunity to be her friend.

I just hope Felix opens his eyes to her interest in him… before he breaks her heart without realizing it.

Damian pondered in his head, sitting upright in the Fletcher Clan: Remastered HQ on the couch. Felix had fallen asleep in a chair by Freddy's desk. He was up all night, trying to fix their Threat Locator's server connection to the D.A.U. system.

He succeeded, but was knocked out cold a few minutes after, sitting in that very chair.

Damian did not sleep. On the contrary, he was awaiting Felix's slumber. For he had a scheme of his own.

Damian had planned to sneak out late at night and travel to The Emo-Jin Empire, alone, with the will to challenge Michaelis Miller, The Easter Bunny, to battle in hopes of wounding him enough for Felix to stand a better chance at defeating him.

He knew that Felix would have never allowed such stupidity, so, he went behind his back.

Damian covered Felix with a blanket, a happy, fulfilled smile on his face. In that moment, Damian appreciated everything that Felix has done for him and all the time they spent together.

They had a bond unlike any other two people in this town. Damian and Felix's perceptions and ideas of life constantly clashed with each other's, despite that, their friendship only grew.

They challenged each other in ways other than physical. Psychologically, they never got along and that excited them. For Felix is the only one who knows that Damian is more than what he shows.

They were undoubtedly best friends, friends closer than brothers.

Damian made his escape, quietly. Shutting the garage door as silently as he could. Thereafter, he made his rendezvous to The Emo-Jin Empire, using KAN to accelerate him to extraordinary speeds as he ran.

Within the Headquarters of the Emo-Jin, sat Michaelis in the field of flowers expanding before the entrance of the building, meditating on the coming bout with Felix Fletcher.

The rest of the Emo-Jin were permitted a day off for their efforts in conquering Kowareta Sekai. A convenient time for Damian to challenge Michaelis, since he would not have any foot soldiers or Top Officers with him to aid him.

In a matter of minutes, Damian had reached his destination. He caught his breath and calmed his nerves, rubbing his neck with his hand, before he walked onto the flower field.

The Emo-Jin Headquarters was large enough to house forty-thousand soldiers, comfortably. The field of flowers alone was thirty-thousand two-hundred and six square kilometers wide.

It was the second most beautiful field of flowers within Kowareta Sekai, second only to the Bloom Forest's famous Garden of Gardenias. Which is only natural considering the fact that the Bloom Forest is maintained by the Bloom Clan, who are a clan of nature lovers, botanists and healers.

Michaelis opened his eyes to see a boy with no weapons and no allies, removing his shirt and walking directly toward him. All he could sense from that boy in the instant… was unreserved, unmistakable bloodlust.
