Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

Chapter 1248: Back Home

-----

From what I barely know about Gilgamesh from popular media is that he was a Hero of Mesopotamia, their first King? Maybe? And he also created civilization? I think? I should probably look it up on google. But he was a very arrogant hero that unified the ancient tribes of people together to create the great kingdom or something.

Also he was the protagonist of the Epic of Gilgamesh, perhaps one of the first heroic epic stories in history, maybe. And where most of fictional literature regarding heroes comes from, slowly changing over the years, but that's always follows these certain tropes.

It is a millenary tale and story, and I think he might have been a historical king of Uru… Uruk? But he was somehow deified, kind of like what sometimes happens with Pharaohs where they die and turn into new Egyptian Gods added into the pantheon later.

And I think that's all I know, I used to study a lot of Mythological History when I was younger, I really loved that sort of thing, mostly because I was influenced by the books I liked reading and the TV series.

But what could a fragment of his crown even do? Wait, does this means he was actually real too?

"Was Gilgamesh real?" wondered Mark, who had just woken up. "Really?"

"Ah, yes, he was," nodded Olivia.

"But why… why would anybody want just a piece of his crown?" asked Rita. "I don't know this guy, I only know him from… uuhh, some anime my son watched. He was like an arrogant blondie or something."

"Hahaha! King Gilgamesh is a very popular man among all of mythology or maybe even Ancient History, I suppose? The first Hero King," smiled Olivia. "It's only natural they would adapt him to all kinds of media, both fictional and so on… I don't know much either, he is a very ancient figure. And about the fragment? Itself, it could be said to a Fragment of Mythology.

It contains a Piece of his Strength, and if used correctly or refined into an Artifact, it is said you could gain a part of the Ancient King's power, alongside the key to his Treasury."

"Woah…" I muttered. "Now that sounds interesting… But I don't know why I would ever want it anyways. It's an incredible object though."

And perhaps one of the Earth-only items that I would be interested on, I had not thought about it, but historical and mythological objects of Earth's history simply cannot be found in Arcadia, so by themselves they would be the most unique and also worth spending my money for.

"Fufu, I suppose most people would say that, but when it comes to the great magus families, it's something everyone will fight for," smiled Olivia. "It could also be possibly used as a Mythology Catalyzer to, in the event that a Holy War happens, and certain conditions are given, grant the possibility of the owner to summon a Heroic Spirit of Gilgamesh."

"H-Heroic Spirits?!"

All of us were left speechless. That thing… that concept actually exists in real life?

"And that is as much as I'll talk for now!" she giggled. "If you want to talk some more, feel free to call me, Elayne. Here's my card."

Suddenly, Olivia gave me her card with her number, a picture of her, and also other descriptions of her services.

Apparently she worked as a "Magic Protection Settler", "Magic Territory Creator", "Magic Teacher", "Runic Arts Specialist" and more. There was even one saying she was a "Accomplished-Rank Alchemist".

"Okay then, thanks a lot Olivia! I hope to see you again too," I said. "Maybe I could invite you to have some tea one day."

"I would gladly have some tea with you, Elayne!" she said. "Though, they have just called me for backup on a Gate, so I'll have to get going, can't just laze around all day, haha!"

"I see, good luck Olivia!" I said, as I saw her summon a flying broom and flying off into the skies.

"See? They still use flying brooms!" I said, laughing a bit.

"I can't believe it…" said Rita. "And I thought it was some outdated stereotype and totally not real…"

"Hah! Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction," I giggled. "Now, let's go back home."

We took the car back home, now that he was awake Mark happily drove it to our residence too. Using these minutes I took some time to check on the bear cubs.

The trio was fluffy and big, and they smelled like ashes and charcoal, like eternal barbeques. It wasn't the best smell, but at least it wasn't worse.

They seemed to be fine, sleeping adorably over the seats, though as I caressed them, they slowly woke up.

"Groohh… Grooaarr…"

They started making small little sounds as they woke up, calling for their mama, perhaps. It made me feel even worse though.

"I'm sorry…" I said. "I had to take her down because she and her family was dangerous for us… I know I don't deserve your forgiveness, but I hope you can behave, and survive alongside us."

"Groohh…"

One of them started licking my hand happily, the others also did the same… I decided to play as their mother, feeding them my sweet saw from my fingers as they suckled them.

At the end, they drank a lot, and I felt a bit dizzy, but it was the very least I could do for these little cubs I felt so bad about, they looked more energetic and healthier after drinking the sap, so I was happy.

I drank some Potions from BNLO in my inventory to feel a bit better, Stamina and Health Potions in specific seemed to help recover lost blood very quickly.

"And we're back! Home sweet home, right?"

Mark quickly opened the door as we made our way inside the house while making sure nobody saw the bear cubs, Mark carried two of them while I carried another. We didn't want them to walk around the neighborhood or something.

Once we were back to the Domain, we placed the cubs there, as they glanced around the area in curiosity. Also, I released all the plant monsters.

"Phew… Finally back home! Okay, let's have lunch! I'm starving."
