[Book 1 Complete!!] Silent Dao Sovereign [Xianxia Cultivation]

Chapter 171: Lackey

Xu Mo watched with an indifferent look in his eyes as he saw Bai Yuntian walk straight toward the man who had just dared to interrupt him and lecture him. Not even his parents had ever lectured him; he was the apple of their eyes. Even the ancestors fawned over him, but here a Nobody dared... dared to speak up against him.

"I did not hear. Can you repeat what you just shouted?" Bai Yuntian walked and stood opposite the man, who was now shivering as he could see death knocking on his heart. The guards just stood behind Bai Yuntian, ready to take action if this man had any ill intentions toward their master.

Bai Yuntian said with a kind smile, like he was just talking to his neighbourhood's uncle.

"Bai Yuntian, don't you dare intimidate the civillians. You have problem with me. Then punish me; let them go." The girl came running from behind him too, which the guards immediately stopped; they would not let her get any closer.

"Haha... silly ex-fiance, you think too highly of yourself. I, the strongest of this era, Bai Yuntian, would need to switch his target because of some waste."

Xu Mo's eyes shot open at the words "the strongest of this era." What did he mean by that? Did all the younger generation hold a competition to decide who was the strongest and who wasn't? Then what would his and Long Chen's rank have been? Xu Mo thought he too should be strong enough to compete against the top talents in each Domain.

"Now, will you kill yourself by your own hands, or would you exchange your life with your child?" As Bai Yuntian said this, he gestured with his finger toward the little girl, who had been crying as if she could already glimpse what was going to happen next. Xu Mo buried the idea of stepping in like a hero. Who knew how many old monsters this guy must be carrying with him? His own life came first, and then anyone else's.

"No, Lord, please have mercy on this ant... My child is innocent; please forgive him." The man bowed his head to the ground, banging his forehead against the hard earth until it started to bleed. But he did not stop. Bai Yuntian signaled the guards behind him to pull the little girl away from the mother. "I don't want to see this emotional scene; my innocent heart will be unable to bear it. Take her and her father away and kill them both somewhere where I won't see." Bai Yuntian took out a handkerchief as he wiped his non-existent tears.

Xu Mo thought this was a good opportunity to slip away from here and see if he could knock out the guards and take away the father and son.

"As you command, Master." The guards were not ordinary people; Xu Mo could feel a slight sense of oppression from them, meaning their level must be higher than his.

Xu Mo tried to use the Drifting Steps technique but found the space around him seemed to have solidified by some unknown force.

"Looks like a mice got in somehow." Bai Yuntian looked straight at where Xu Mo was. Xu Mo's camouflage's biggest weakness was that if someone was looking for him, he would be unable to hide. But how did he know that he was here? Xu Mo had used his Dao of Silence Domain to cover all his traces of Qi.

"Let's go. Work here is over." Bai Yuntian stretched his hands as he signaled the rest of the guards to capture Xu Mo, and they all flew into the sky toward the huge carriage, almost like a small island but floating.

...

THUD!

Xu Mo was thrown like a prisoner beneath the feet of Bai Yuntian, who was now sitting on his throne and styling his long hair while looking at his reflection in the mirror.

"Speak. Who sent you?" Bai Yuntian said as he placed the mirror in his storage ring and turned his attention toward him.

"I am a disciple of Hidden Dragon Sect, Senior. I was just on a round around the sect, going from village to village. Before today I did not even know you, senior. Believe me, I am just a cultivator from a local sect." Xu Mo said as he found himself unable to control even a single string or mass of spiritual energy. It was like before he started cultivation. But he was still confident that he could take one or two people with him if he blew up his Dao Sphere here.

However, before taking any extreme measures he wanted to at least try and talk his way out of here. "Hidden Dragon Sect?" Bai Yuntian looked at an old man beside him as he asked for information from his subordinate, who was also an old monster in the Void Shattering Realm. The old man was dressed in very clean attire and was the butler of Young Master Bai. He had been with him since Bai Yuntian was a newborn baby and had just learned to say papa and mama.

"Master, looking at this youngster, his talent is not from that Hidden Dragon Sect. If it is not that one, then he must be talking about that illegal branch of Hidden Dragon Sect under the Domain of our family."

Under the Domain of their family?! Was the Bai Family so powerful? Wouldn't this mean the Verdant Sky Hall that reigned as the supreme authority had someone having command even over them. Tch—what have I gotten myself into.

"Master, I have allocated the family of three to a new city far away from the area." A guard knocked at the door and entered as he reported to Bai Yuntian.

"Well done. Make sure to find some prisoners or evil cultivators who have the same physique as the father and son; hang their dead bodies at the gate of my ex-fiance's city." Bai Yuntian waved his hand and the guard left.

No one seemed surprised by this act. The butler thought, 'Our Young Master really has a unique way of handling things. I don't know why he wants to act as a villain outside when he is clearly a kind-hearted master.'

"And you. You are also quite an upright man. What do you think about working under me?" Bai Yuntian offered to Xu Mo. 'In other words, he wants me to become his lackey.' Xu Mo smirked but dared not let his emotions show.

"Young Master, this humble servant doesn't deserve to become your subordinate. I am afraid a mere Gold Core as a subordinate would only tarnish your reputation, plus my own reputation isn't very good in the outside world." Xu Mo tried his best to deflect this sudden wave of kindness from the other party.

He was already tired and was free after a very long time from those protagonists and villains; he wanted to continue cultivating in peace.

This Bai Yuntian was the young master of some invincible Bai family, meaning he would be able to handle once that ex-fiance of his started rising from the ashes, but the people who would suffer the most would, of course, be his servants and subordinates and lackeys.

Bai Yuntian glanced at the butler, and he nodded and started speaking about many rumours plus evil deeds committed by Xu Mo, some leaving him shocked inwardly. But Xu Mo did not forget to nod at each mention of the evil deed and even looked a little proud. Bai Yuntian, who had been expressionless, smirked as the butler finished narrating his tale.

"Doesn't this sound familiar?" Bai Yuntian spoke as he sat on the luxurious, soft-cushioned chair embroidered with gold patterns and jewels; with his chin resting on his wrist, he gazed up at the servants around Xu Mo.

Xu Mo did not dare to turn his attention away from the young master of the Bai family, or who knew—he might just blow off his neck, considering his distraction an insult.
