Meet Razor (in dragon form) and Mariv! I commissioned Ertaç Altınöz for this piece. Ertaç is the artist who created a lot of the Game of Thrones dragon art. I have some context below the image.
This scene is from a prequel short story, Downscaled, which takes place before Logan gets isekai'd into the System. If you remember from Chapter 21, Razor talked about high-leveled reavers overtaking her home (that's the volcano in the picture, a region called Emberholt) and how she had to flee with the last dragon egg. Downscaled follows how Mariv met Razor as she was escaping, and how the two of them navigated high-leveled regions until they reached the small town of Gnashridge Heights to fulfill a prophecy that will summon a champion to challenge the reavers.

Downscaled is told from Razor's perspective. I had a lot of fun with it because she is a high-leveled mythical beast who has to go in disguise as a low-leveled human, and we get to see her inner turmoil over that indignity. That includes learning how to set up camp, make small talk, and more... all of which is beneath a majestic being such as herself.
And she absolutely has to take on some unexpected side quests of her own to summon the champion (which, as you've seen, is Logan... not exactly the SSS-tier hero she expected).
I assure you, there are chickens involved. :)
As part of an anthology with 17 other authors, Downscaled is still in preparation phase for publication, but I will be notifying on Patreon when the story becomes available in Kindle Unlimited.
Stay tuned for updates!
Oh, and also I am currently making a sketch of torch slugs in the initial cave Logan wakes in. I'm not as skilled as Ertaç (we're talking ink sketches), and I'll probably need the rest of the day to finish drawing it, but I'll let you know in Monday's post-chapter note where to find it!
