BNHA: Accelerator The Strongest Hero

Chapter 229: Chapter 228: You Called for Me, Right?

Just as David was filled with rage, another voice spoke as if it was only natural.

"It looks like putting it there was the right choice. Otherwise, I would have missed out on all this wonderful spectacle."

Like a lion patrolling its territory, the masked man replaced the timid Sam and answered David, who was in a rage, with calm confidence.

"Of course, it's all just acting."

"It's just playing the role of a fake enemy."

The moment Midoriya saw the masked man, green lightning, a sign of the One for All Quirk, instantly wrapped around his body. But the masked man didn't pay him any attention, not even turning his head.

The steel gate transformed into a steel coil in an instant, smashing through Midoriya and binding him up like a dutiful soldier.

The masked man's Quirk was clearly a powerful one that allowed him to freely control metal.

"Sam, where's the equipment?"

The assistant attempted to grab the silver alleyway that Doctor Gunslinger had just acquired.

Doctor David showed no sign of giving it up, while Sam, panicking, shouted.

"It's you! You, David, you betrayed me first! You're the one who turned your back on me!"

"I've been following you all these years, working hard without complaint! And now you just discard me so easily! No honor, no fame, and even the basic wealth wasn't shared with me—at least let me make some money! Otherwise, I'm going to lose everything!"

Compared to David Shield's self-sacrificial efforts, Sam, the assistant, was the complete opposite of humanity.

Someone who would push the world into the abyss without hesitation, just for his own selfish desires.

At that moment, the masked man suddenly fired a shot.

The first to fall was the assistant, Sam, as the bullet hit his arm.

Sam clutched his arm in agony, trembling as he asked.

"Why?! This isn't what we agreed on!"

The masked man, his iron mask twisted into a cruel grin, answered without the slightest hint of regret in his tone.

"Agreed? Who agreed with you? The house always wins, idiot!"

"Well then, I'll take this as a token of gratitude."

He spoke confidently, still holding the gun, its dark muzzle now aimed at Sam.

In the blink of an eye, Doctor David tried to shield his old assistant from the bullet with his own body.

But his Quirk, which he hadn't used in years, seemed to have failed him.

The air around them felt heavy, and there was nothing he could do but watch helplessly as the fatal bullet tore through Sam's heart, taking away his life force and leaving nothing but regret and sorrow behind.

Melissa, who had never seen anything like this, screamed.

"Uncle Sam!"

Meanwhile, Midoriya, restrained by the metal, was equally shocked.

The masked man turned to David, grinning wickedly as he taunted him.

"Don't worry, Doctor. I won't forget you."

He pointed his gun at Melissa and slyly encouraged David.

"Give her to me, for whatever reason you like."

"Since we're both tainted, there's no difference between us anymore."

"Whether we're real or fake, your sins won't disappear."

"Since we're the same kind, I don't want to accidentally kill your daughter."

"But you have to hand over the device and let me use it."

"Anyway, you can't be a researcher for the heroes anymore, and you can't continue your studies."

"You've only got one path left now—becoming an enemy."

Just as Midoriya's power reached its peak and he was about to break free, sharp steel bars rapidly bent out of the wall behind him. Unlike the softer restraints before, they pierced through his flesh, burning hot with blood, as if they were meant to pin him to the wall.

No matter how much Midoriya struggled, he could only bleed more and more.

The masked man, filled with delight, looked at his trapped prey, enjoying every moment of it as Midoriya continued to fight like a cornered animal. He laughed with satisfaction.

"Hahahaha, I remember it's called Midoriya Izuku, right? The so-called hero volunteer."

"I'm no fool who just came out of nowhere. How could I give any chance to you little brats?"

"Do you know why I only subdued you at first, instead of killing you?"

"Because you're too weak! Hahahaha!"

"You're so weak that you can't even affect the situation, you can only watch everything happen helplessly."

Saying this, he pointed at Dr. David, who was comforting his daughter and almost about to give in.

"You're so cowardly it's painful to watch, so weak that you've lost the ability to choose."

"Even your resistance is boring, just a source of amusement for me."

The power of OFA (One For All) flickered, and in an instant, Midoriya Izuku seemed like he was about to break free.

"Ahhhhhh!!!!"

The boy was yelling, trying to reverse the situation by risking his life.

But would the masked man just stand by idly?

Cold and ruthless, he quickly fired two shots at Melissa's feet, then pointed the gun directly at her head, using this hard truth to warn David and Midoriya of who truly held the initiative in this confrontation.

David seemed to lose all his strength, regretting deeply, and kneeled on the ground as he gave up, saying:

"Don't hurt Melissa, I'll do whatever you want."

For the doctor, his life could be sacrificed, for the world, for society, for All Might.

But his daughter was different.

The masked man seemed to be showing off his shooting accuracy, while Midoriya_Izuku had no choice but to stop gathering power, trying to think of a strategy, his mind working harder than ever.

The masked man, having received the answer he wanted from David, smiled:

"Dr. David, now you're getting it. Please continue helping me do some evil deeds."

He then turned his head, looking at Midoriya with delight, and mocked:

"How's it going, hero volunteer Midoriya_Izuku?"

"Tell me, how are you going to save her? Show me how you'd save her, hmm?"

"Hahahaha, I love seeing heroes like you so helpless."

"In the end, you're just too weak!"

"You're all helpless over this small matter! If you could really break free, block the bullets, untie them both, and counter the I-Island system before my men notice—do it!"

"Can't do it, right? — Pitiful hero!"

Then, the masked man fired a shot at Midoriya_Izuku's head. Melissa was so terrified that she shut her eyes, too scared to look.

Suddenly, the ceiling above them exploded, and the masked man clearly heard a loud, arrogant complaint.

To be precise, it was the sound of destruction, crushing the eardrums.

"You called for me, didn't you?"
