Chapter 31: The Neo Egoist League, NEL
The break had been longer than expected—a few weeks of recovery, relaxation, and reflection.
But now, Isagi and Sae were back.
Walking through the familiar steel halls of Blue Lock, they were met with the sight of both Blue Lock players and Japan's U-20 members.
A sea of rivals and comrades.
At the front, a few familiar faces broke away from the crowd.
"Yo, Isagi! Sae! Over here!"
Bachira, Nagi, and Hiori walked up, their energy infectious.
Bachira grinned, bouncing on his heels.
"Man, it's been forever! You guys enjoying your superstar lives?"
Nagi yawned, scratching his head.
"Yeah, yeah… but I kinda missed the chaos here. Nothing's more fun than crushing egos."
Hiori was calmer, his gaze sharp.
"Things are about to get serious again, huh?"
Isagi smirked.
"Obviously. That's why we're here."
Sae crossed his arms, glancing around.
"Seems like everyone got invited back. Ego's got something big planned."
Their conversation was cut short when a familiar mechanical voice echoed across the hall.
A massive screen flickered to life.
Jinpachi Ego stood at the front of the room, his signature smug grin in place.
"Welcome back, you egotistical bastards."
The room went silent.
Then, he continued.
"Blue Lock is officially entering its next phase—The Neo Egoist League."
The players stiffened.
Ego's grin widened.
"This is no longer about just representing Japan. No, this time… you will fight for your future in the soccer world."
The screen shifted, showing five elite teams, each led by a legendary master.
🔥 England: Manshine City – Led by Chris Prince. A team focused on explosive physicality and individual fitness.
⚽ Spain: Barcha – Led by Lavinho. A team centered around perfect ball control and dribbling.
🛡️ Italy: Ubers – Led by Marc Snuffy. A team that thrives on structured defense and tactical dominance.
⚔️ Germany: Bastard München – Led by Noel Noa. A team built on the perfect balance of attack and defense.
⚡ France: PXG – Led by Julien Loki. A team that emphasizes speed, unpredictability, and devastating counterattacks.
Ego's voice sharpened.
"You will each choose one of these five clubs. You will train under their systems, face off against each other, and fight for dominance."
"The winner is not the team that lifts a trophy. No."
"The true winner… is the player who receives the highest bid from the world's richest soccer investors."
A heavy silence fell over the room.
For the first time, they weren't just playing to prove themselves.
They were playing for their careers.
Isagi and Sae exchanged looks.
They already knew their choices had to be strategic.
Italy? It was a tempting option—Snuffy's defensive and tactical mastery could turn them into true game-changers.
But then again…
Germany? Noa was the former World's No.1 Striker.
The best possible mentor.
They weren't 100% sure yet.
So, for now, they would wait.
Sae clicked his tongue.
"Tch. This bastard Ego sure knows how to keep things interesting."
Isagi grinned.
"Yeah. And I love it."
The battle was just beginning.
And this time, the entire world was watching.
AN: A short Chapter, but please comment where y'all want Isagi and Sae to go for the NEL (please not BM, I dunno why, I just wanna have Isagi and Sae be not with Noa and Kaiser and Ness, too many OP people there you know).
