Chapter 429: Dao seed
Taking charge of the chaos within her, Tang Yue unleashed an attack. The next moment, she could feel her body becoming lighter. The gravity around her was changing. If she moved right now, her speed would be explosive. She could make her opponent feel the weight of the mountain while she would be blasting forward.
Unbridled power thrummed within her. This was unlike anything she had consumed before. This power was real. It was a step higher than what she was dabbling with until now.
Tang Yue exhaled. She was not done yet. She was barely scratching the surface. Slowly and steadily, she reached for the chaotic forces within her and started grabbing them bit by bit.
Such potent power. She wanted all of them for herself.
After the gravity, she tried to channel the void dao energy swirling within her. Just like gravity, this one also resisted her. It was as if the Dao energy knew she was not the one to gain enlightenment and achieve this powerful energy. It did not want to submit to her.
The Void bucked like a wild thing in a snare, every strand of it trying to slip her grip, not to flee, but to return to formlessness. But Tang Yue stubbornly held onto it and grasped it.
Soon, she was able to feel the nothingness. She extended her hand and released that feeling to form a small dark spot in front of her. The darkness crackled with explosive power.
However, the very next moment, it demanded payment. It was sucking her mana like there was no tomorrow. Tang Yue gritted her teeth and supplied it with the energy along with the random rocks and rubble from around her.
Only after a sufficient meal, the small void spot was satiated.
Tang Yue gulped. What power. After experiencing their power firsthand and understanding more about the daos, she was able to consolidate a small portion of the dao energies.
But even this small part filled her with endless energy.
"I need more!"
That was the first thought that came to Tang Yue's mind as she flashed her eyes open. "Are there more clams nearby?"
The turtle girl smiled. "Of course, there are. How could I not prepare even this much? They are not as good as the first one, but they should suffice for your growth."
They moved to a stretch of black sand where round mounds slept under the surface. "Clams," the turtle girl said, amused. Tang Yue sank the sand around the nearest mound, making it heavy as a hill. The shell tried to rise; it couldn't.
Tang Yue then dealt a crushing blow to the creature. The fight ended before it even began. Tang Yue swallowed the entirety of the creature and closed her eyes, silently absorbing the small strands of dao energies it had collected in its body.
A few clams nearby sensed her presence and quickly acted. However, Tang Yue suppressed all of them easily. One by one, she claimed every single clam in the vicinity. Each time, she was able to absorb more and more Dao energies. Soon, the strands of Dao energies within her started to converge.
By the time she claimed the tenth clam, all the Dao energies in her body came together to form an intense dot of energy.
She felt the tiny "dot" spin inside her like a warm bead. It wanted to grow too fast and eat everything. She held it tight.
"A Gravity Dao seed..." Tang Yue muttered.
"Ho Ho." The turtle girl laughed. "My friend, you are as fast as ever. You have already formed a Dao seed? Impressive."
Tang Yue did not respond. Instead, she only silently closed her eyes and absorbed as much as she could, growing the small seed bigger and bigger.
She tried the same for forming a Void Dao seed, but she simply did not have enough Dao energy strands for it. Most of the clams around her had aimed for the Gravity Dao rather than the Void Dao.
"I need more." Tang Yue opened her eyes again, licking her lips.
The turtle girl giggled. "Slow down, Miss Greedy. That's all the clams I have for you. I suggest you take the next ten decades to focus on your first Dao seed and stabilize it first. We can tackle the next Dao seed after that."
"Ten decades?" Tang Yue sneered. What use was that? Her loved ones and everyone she knew would already be one with the heavens at that time. She did not have any plans to wait that long.
"If there are no more clams, then let's go for something else. What's the next powerful creature here?"
The turtle girl bitterly smiled and shook her head. "No greedy girl. Don't be in a rush. You cannot underestimate monsters who have stepped on the path of the Great Daos. If you rush too fast, you might stumble and fall."
Tang Yue's face was indifferent. "I am fine with that." She bluntly replied.
"Tch. Okay. In every rebirth, do you have to be the same amount of stubborn? Fine. I already knew you wouldn't listen to me. Come this way. I don't have clams for you, but I have a wolf. The nasty thing had managed to gain a wind elemental Dao seed."
Tang Yue's eyes immediately lit up.
"Don't go counting your win already. This is a really nasty thing. It even came close to eating me a few times over the years. You have to be on top of your game. Otherwise, you will lose without a doubt, and you might even die."
"It's fine. I will handle it."
They crossed the black sand to a low ridge where the wind never sat still. The turtle girl stopped and pointed. A pale shape flowed out of the dunes of smoke, long legs, lean body, fur rippling even when the air was still. The wolf's eyes were clear and sharp. Each breath it took made the dirt and sand lift and swirl.
