For Akhil, who had the third-person perspective, seeing the unnerving calmness of the titan, from the onset, he felt something was wrong.

But even he didn't expect what was coming next.

The sheer force from the titan's pull lifted James and his weapon up into the air and sent him crashing straight into Nyla like a meteor.

The two were blasted meters away, crashing straight into the statue and breaking right through it.

Xavier saw his teammates getting tossed away like ragdolls, but he remained calm.... This wasn't the time for hesitation; in fact, that slight moment had granted him a clear opening.

His scythe swept downward with a brutal force, pouring all the energy he had into that one strike, even adding his body weight to drop with more momentum.

But—

His scythe halted mid-air, caught by an unbreakable grip.

Xavier's eyes widened slightly in surprise, but his eyes flashed with disdain as the darkness quickly crept up the titan's body.

Eating straight into his flesh, leaving nothing but mutilated flesh in its wake, it crawled all the way to the neck, but it could only go so far as the strange markings caught up.

They flared, burning brightly with monstrous intensity as they seemed to eat up the darkness.

Xavier's breath hitched as he desperately pulled away, but strangely, instead of moving backwards, his body was being jerked forward.

His eyes widened in despair as he saw the titan's mutilated hand firmly gripping his clothes, and his other hand coming at him with a furious punch.

The muscles bulged, the air twisted, tearing apart as the fist moved, breaking past the sound barrier. In desperation, Xavier summoned all his shadow towards his head, creating a dense shadow helmet over his head.

As the shadow gathered around his face, seeing the punch approach with all the force it carried, Xavier's eyes shook with uncertainty.

With a loud, exploding force, the fist connected.

A powerful gust of wind exploded outwards from the point of contact, and a large cloud of dust rose into the air.

Nyla and James, who had just recovered from their crash, stood with blood leaking from their mouths. They quickly turned their attention towards the titan and Xavier, their breaths held as the dust settled.

As the two came into view again, Nyla's eyes shook, and her blades dropped from her hands.

James stood, his confident demeanor completely diminished as he stared in horror.

The titan held up Xavier's body, its large fist carving a hole into his skull, dripping with blood and brain matter. Without a word, the titan tossed the body to the side. The patterns on its body grew much larger, pulsing silently like a heartbeat.

It tilted its head, fixing its gaze on Nyla and James.

But that one scene alone was enough to shake their cores. Nyla felt her legs go weak as she crumbled to the ground.

The grotesque scenery made bile rise up her throat, her eyes shaking with tears. James stood, hands shaking even as he held his sickles.

"Nyla! Don't stop fighting now!" Akhil yelled from the other side. He had been observing the fight from the sidelines... but even he didn't see Xavier's brutal death coming.

Seeing how powerful their combination was, he knew just how close Nyla must've been with the two... No trio group would just wake up and be so coordinated in their fighting like that. He could tell that she was quite shaken up by his death, especially with how brutal it was.

And knowing that this was reality.... made it even more brutal. While he could sympathise with her over his death, for once, Akhil felt the need to be selfish, not as a player, but as a brother.

He couldn't lose his sister, not after they'd only met after months of being apart.

'Shit! There's nothing reasonable here.' Akhil felt the frustration gnawing at him.

His eyes widened as the titan finally moved again, with speed twice as fast as before.

'Damn it! It gets stronger after every successive hit!' Akhil cursed under his breath as he saw the titan bolting straight for James and Nyla.

He forced himself to his feet with all the strength he could muster, gritting his teeth. Akhil lifted his hands, gathering what little blood essence he had left.

Blood swirled midair, condensing into a sharp, pointed blood bullet.

"Get out of there!" he yelled at the two as he shot a blood bullet straight at the titan.

BANG!

The sound rippled as the bullet tore through the air at an amazing speed, sinking into the titan's thigh.

It did little to no harm to the titan, but it was enough to drag the attention of the titan away from the two and towards him.

The titan's eyes burned with rage. It could almost tell with a glance that Akhil had nearly no energy to stand against it, yet this puny ant dared to raise its weak stinger against it. Its eyes flared with rage.

With the brief moment of distraction and the grave sense of danger, James' confidence returned. His chains quickly wrapped around Nyla, pulling her away from the titan.

"Nyla, backup... it's not coming in time. We have to move. Now!" James said with a calm voice, but the overwhelming emotions welling up within him could be heard in his voice.

Nyla glanced at the limp body, tears leaking from her eyes. She gritted her teeth.

"You're right, let's get out of here," Nyla said as she stood on her feet, grabbing her twin blades, her sharp eye glancing towards Akhil, who now had the attention of the titan on him.

She couldn't help but feel thankful that he had risked so much to help them. Seeing him standing weakly while trying to protect her gave a warmth to her chest. 'He hasn't changed at all.'

'I have to absorb blood if I'm going to face it.' Akhil glanced towards Xavier's limp body.

He was already dead, but knowing it was a close friend of his sister, how would she react if he absorbed the blood?

Akhil's mind raced with thoughts, but his thoughts were blanked out as the titan shifted its course, now blasting towards him.

Akhil was torn between choices. Would he have to disrespect his sister's friend's corpse? Or take a full-blown attack from a titan?
