Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel

Chapter 791: -32- Sea King Oceanus

The grey mist subtly shifted, and the light grey currents kept swirling.

In the Divine Power Cage, the "Ghost Face" suddenly changed, transforming into a blurry male visage.

The ethereal countenance looked at Charlotte with an alternating light and shadow, and a voice, ancient and elusive, slowly rose within the cage,

"I should have been well-hidden. How did you find me?"

Charlotte glanced at the Divine Technique Counter notification in her field of vision and chuckled,

"Experience, that's all."

The blurry face fell silent.

He took a deep look at Charlotte and said,

"A thousand years have not passed us by, and your Blood Power... seems to have weakened quite a bit."

Hmm?

Is this... an acquaintance of Lilith?

Charlotte's heart skipped a beat.

She looked discreetly toward the blurry face in the cage, not denying his assertion, but instead chuckled with sarcasm,

"Even if I am weakened, at least... I'm stronger than some fellows who have been caught by me."

The blurry face was silenced once again.

He looked at Charlotte and said,

"I have no intention of arguing with you. We... are not enemies."

"It is indeed a fortunate thing to see an old friend in this era, after all... there are fewer and fewer of us old-timers who can still cling to survival."

"Release the imprisonment. You should know that what you are now imprisoning is but a strand of my consciousness. Even if you were to destroy this consciousness of mine, my main body would still guess that it is you behind the Falling Star Kingdom."

"I will not reveal your whereabouts to Him, and similarly, you needn't obstruct my actions on Moon God Island."

Upon hearing the words of the blurry face, Charlotte fell into deep thought.

She roughly understood his meaning.

Clearly, this mystical being from the Mythical Era was hidden on Moon God Island, and if she wasn't mistaken, it was likely that the investigation mission she had assigned to the Nais Clan had disturbed him.

Considering the similarity between his power and the odd white mist behind the stone gate, Charlotte even suspected that he might be related to the "puppet" Bloodline Elves.

He clearly knew Lilith, or rather... he knew the "Blood True Ancestor" from history, and he clearly regarded her as the returning Blood True Ancestor.

Moreover, he clearly didn't want to reveal his activities on Moon God Island. While Charlotte did not know exactly what he was up to, she could hear the implicit deal and threat in his words—

'Let's pretend we didn't see each other'?

Charlotte's gaze shifted slightly.

She did not know the identity of the divine entity she was speaking with, but... it was certainly not the Moon God, Artemis.

Although the gender of a god could be somewhat ambiguous, the Moon God... was a bona fide "Goddess".

And from his tone, it seemed he was quite familiar with the "Blood True Ancestor".

That tone was one of equality, without fear, without dread; at most, there was wariness.

That was the kind of tone only beings on the same level would exhibit when interacting.

Combining various ancient records from the Mythical Era and Charlotte's own knowledge of the gods of Mireya, she had a faint speculation about his identity.

There were not many existences that could stand shoulder to shoulder with the Blood True Ancestor throughout history, and none were obscure.

After all, there were only so many possibilities.

Of course, what Charlotte had in mind was just speculation and still required further validation.

Thinking of this, her gaze turned cold, and the Blood Divine Power within her body stirred slightly.

Charlotte looked down from on high, her crisp voice carrying an added authority,

"Regarding the recent happenings at sea, shouldn't you give me an explanation?"

"Explanation? What explanation do you want? The transformation of the Bloodline Elves from Moon God Island? Or maybe the attack of the Kraken? If it's the latter, my pet was quite frightened by you. As for the former... that's the Elves' own doing. It has nothing to do with me."

The vague face spoke indifferently.

As expected, it was the Sea King Oceanus!

A flash crossed Charlotte's eyes.

In the era when the Bloodline reigned supreme over the continent, there were only two gods who could be mentioned in the same breath as the Blood True Ancestor.

One was the Moon God Artemis, and the other... was the Sea King Oceanus.

Moreover, since the other party referred to the Legendary Sea Monster Kraken as his own pet, there was no mistaking his identity.

He was indeed the god of the oceans and storms, the Sea King Oceanus!

But why was the Sea King Oceanus on Moon God Island?

And, it sounded like there was more to the transformation of those Bloodline Elves?

Not only that, but it seemed the Sea King Oceanus did not wish to reveal his true identity—was it because he was in a weakened state of resurgence or perhaps... hiding from some danger?

Regardless of which possibility it was, it seemed he hadn't discovered her true identity.

He really took her for the "True Ancestor" returned, which meant... perhaps she could indirectly inquire and coax some secrets about Moon God Island, or even the secrets behind Moon God Island, out of him...

After considering, Charlotte said,

"What exactly is the matter with the Bloodline Elves of Moon God Island?"

The vague face shook its head,

"You should know better than I do. After all, they did the same thing you did back in the day to end up in that state. Probably couldn't withstand the Primordial power and were ultimately eroded, I suppose."

While speaking, the vague face looked at Charlotte again with a meaningful tone,

"You really have weakened considerably compared to before. If it had been in the past, you wouldn't be conversing with me so calmly; you would have acted directly."

"But it's not so bad, at least... you've returned."

"Those Elves on Moon God Island... you should give up on them; they are beyond salvation, at least... they were already beyond salvation when I saw them."

"You should thank me. If not for me, those things would have spread to Falling Star Island already."

"Let's make a deal. You stay out of the matters of Moon God Island. Those Bloodline Elves are no longer considered your Descendants; their new master is me."

"In exchange, I can persuade the Chief High Priest of the Church Authority Country in the Holy Royal Court to turn a blind eye to everything on Falling Star Island."

"In the end, we are both His targets. We don't have any real conflicts of interest. The goals we hope to achieve are the same... we are naturally suited to be allies."

"His" targets?

Charlotte's heart skipped a beat.

For no apparent reason, she recalled the entries in the diary of the Crimson Queen Royena.

'The "He" mentioned here... could it be related to the enemy Lilith faced? Or perhaps the very reason for Lilith's madness?'

'The Primordial power... could it be referring to the Creation Power? The Creator God?'

At that thought, Charlotte took a deep breath and calmly said,

"How much do you know about 'Him'...?"

Upon hearing Charlotte's words, the expression on the vague face finally changed.

One could see Its eyebrows rise slightly, with an inexplicable tone in Its voice,

"Oh? The sovereign of the Bloodline, the Monarch of Eternal Night, the one among the gods closest to the Primordial being... you are actually... asking me about the 'Primordial'?"
