Chapter 778: -25- History
Could this possibly be... the diary of the Crimson Queen, Royena?
Charlotte looked at the notebook stored inside the "Blood Secret Book," a look of surprise crossing her face.
Then, she quickly became excited.
The Mythical Era was filled with secrets.
If she could glimpse into what had actually happened through Royena's diary, perhaps... she might also find out what had transpired between Lilith and Haral.
Thinking this, Charlotte was instantly energized.
Taking a deep breath, she turned to the first page of the diary and began to read closely:
"Apocalypse 495, Frost Mist Month, Day 7, Clear."
"Recording my experiences in the form of a diary is indeed a good choice for someone as forgetful as I am."
"Bloodline members live eternally, and having been part of the Bloodline for so long, I still retain the youthful and beautiful appearance I had when I first transformed. Perhaps... after another thousand years, or two thousand years, when my memories become faint with the span of time, I will need these things to awaken these ancient memories."
"..."
"Apocalypse 495, Cold Ice Month, Day 21, Snow."
"Today, I was officially chosen as Your Majesty's personal maid. I wonder if Your Majesty still remembers me."
"It doesn't matter if he doesn't remember; Your Majesty is my savior. Sure, I am very forgetful and might forget many things, but this one thing I will never forget."
"I... have long decided to devote everything of myself to Your Majesty."
"..."
This was not quite what Charlotte had expected.
Royena's "diary" recorded quite trivial things.
Especially the initial parts, it was almost all about her daily work, and all content revolved every few sentences around Your Majesty.
Even after a thousand years, Charlotte could still feel, through the words, that regard for "Your Majesty."
By browsing, she seemingly saw a Bloodline girl continuously striving, drawing gradually closer to the being she revered.
However, Charlotte's smooth reading did not last long.
After flipping through the initial dozen pages of trivial records, the entries on the following page became blurry.
Charlotte frowned slightly.
It was not a blurring from the passage of time, but seemed more like a deliberate erasure.
The evidence was the text from the previous page she had read; despite the passage of centuries, those words were still clear.
As for these blurry records, even with Charlotte's demigod-level vision, she could not discern what had originally been written.
Not to mention discerning, normally, even if the writing was faded, she should have been able to use magic to trace back and reconstruct the original content.
But she couldn't for these blurred parts.
Moreover, even using Divine Power, Charlotte couldn't figure out what had been written in those blurry parts.
This was abnormal, highly abnormal.
Just one page apart, and such a great difference in clarity, this definitely was not normal.
Charlotte felt a slight sinking in her heart and a foreboding feeling.
She quickly continued flipping through, and soon, frustratingly, found that the majority of this "diary" had become very vague.
Still, not the entire diary had turned vague.
There were some record pages whose parts remained clear, and even some scattered middle pages also maintained clarity.
The record of Charlotte first randomly flipping to the page where she became a Legion Commander was one of the clear middle pages.
Charlotte continued flipping through with a frown, skipping past those blurred parts, continuing to read the clearer sections:
"Apocalypse 497, Hot Fire Month, Day 19, Clear."
"The situation is getting more dangerous, even with Bloodline warriors, fighting against the Elf armies is still difficult."
"The city-state has discussed and decided to develop more Bloodline members, if we have more, we can enhance our combat power further."
"I really don't know when this war will end..."
"..."
"Apocalypse 508, Wind Nature Month, Day 11, Clear."
"We've won! We've finally achieved victory! After so many years of war, we have finally won and gained control of the Northern Border."
"From today on, no one can insult the Free City State anymore!"
"Long live the great Your Majesty! Long live the Bloodline! Long live the free people!"
"..."
"Apocalypse 534, Wind Nature Month, Day 11, Clear."
"Today is the anniversary of our war victory, after so many years of war, under Your Majesty's leadership, we have finally unified the entire Mireya Continent."
"The Sea King and Moon God have both been defeated by Your Majesty, the Elf Clan has given up ruling the Eastern Continent, and the Old Gods have chosen to retire; perhaps... the era belonging to humans, belonging to the Bloodline, is coming!"
"I feel my blood power throbbing more and more lately, Your Majesty said, it won't be long before I can attempt to break through to demigod."
"..."
"Apocalypse 667, Blossom Opening Month, Day 18, Clear."
"This should be the last time I use the Apocalypse calendar; I had no idea ascension to demigod could be so difficult and lengthy, when I awoke, a hundred years had already passed, even the era of the continent had changed."
"The Blood Moon Era? It has a Bloodline feel to it, from now on, I will also use the new era for my entries!"
