Chapter 2: the silent assassin

The young man slipped into the barracks undetected, shrouded by the darkness. The only sounds were the scurrying of rats and the faint chirping of bats, casting an eerie atmosphere. Yet, the young man seemed unfazed, his movements hinting at a familiarity with such settings.

He surveyed the area, his eyes locking onto the patrolling guards. With calculated patience, he waited for one to venture closer. The moment arrived, and with swift precision, the young man slit the guard's throat, muffling the sound. He then donned the guard's uniform.

"Oi, Steve! Come here!" another guard called out.

The young man, now disguised as Steve, approached the guard, who didn't suspect a thing. "Oi, Steve, where were you? It's break time, and—"

The guard's words were cut short as the young man slit his throat. The body was swiftly hidden in the nearby lake.

The young man then infiltrated the soldiers' sleeping quarters, killing them one by one. The first row of soldiers fell victim to their own weapons; one was stabbed in the neck, while the others had their faces mutilated.

The questions lingered: Who was this young man, and what drove him to commit such atrocities? The answers would have to wait until Chapter 3, releasing on January 26.
