Blade of the Goddess

Chapter 291 - Zion vs Arion Part 2

Zion didn't understand what was going on with his body, but even after getting brutally beaten by Arion, he felt okay, no, he felt more than okay, he felt great. He had never felt this way in his entire life.

So what if he was a demigod and couldn't kill Arion, he would still fight him. So what if his body was destroyed, it would just heal. So what if the power gap was huge, he still wanted to clobber the man and watch him die.

His body regenerated, and his armor flew back onto him. Zion took one step and arrived right behind Arion, punching the god square in the head, which sent him tumbling forward.

"What the fuck?! How are you alive?!"

"I'm.....IMMORTAL!"

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

A violent energy rushed out of Zion, shaking the world. No, it didn't shake the world; the world was cheering Zion on, telling him to kill Arion.

"Ha, haha, hahahaha!" Zion flew in and gut-punched Arion.

The god tanked the blow and elbowed Zion in the back. He rolled to the side, then kicked Arion in the face, but his leg was caught, and he was flung into the air.

"Die, you annoying mortal!" Exceeding his hand outward, hundreds of swords impaled Zion all over his body.

But he regenerated, feeling the intense energy coursing through his body.

The more he fought, the more he learned, adapted, grew stronger, the more Arion had to use his power. Zion didn't understand why, but he was loving this feeling.

But still, Arion was a god, and he was not, so the battle was still one-sided. However, as Zion was attacking, he heard a voice in his head. A voice that he knew all too well.

'Zion, this is the first god you've faced, the first being whose power eclipsed every foe you've faced until this point. Feel the energy within you, feel Willow's power, my power, Erebosa's power, your power! It's all in there, changing you, making you become what you need to be. Arion is not a human, he's not a demon, he's not an angel, he's a god, SO FIGHT HIM LIKE ONE!'

After hearing that speech by his favorite goddess Luminera, something within him clicked, and he pushed Arion away, cracking his armor.

"Y-You! The nexus energy flows through your body? Ha, I see. You're trying to forcefully become a god. Not on my watch!"

Arion's armor glowed like a radiant being descending from the heavens. A sword, so bright, so vibrant, and so powerful, appeared in his hands.

Zion watched on in delight, summoning his ancient relic and changing its form into two daggers.

"One shall shand..." Arion voiced.

"And one shall fall." Zion finished.

Arion descended from the sky while Zion leaped upward.

Arion knocked Zion out of the sky, sending him back to the ground. Before Zion could get up, Arion moved at high speeds, slicing at Zion's side, but he was able to block in time.

The force of the attack sent Zion flying into a mountain range, but as he got close to them, he changed his body's direction, using his feet to propel himself out of the many mountains in a zigzag pattern and fly right back at Arion.

Their blades clashed, and sparks danced in the air. Zion attacked both high and low, taking advantage of his dual blades to throw the god off guard.

Arion, a skilled warrior and the god of war, parried the high attack, rotating his sword downward to then block the low attack. Zion lept over the god, striking at his back, but Aion moved his sword quickly, protecting himself and swiping Zion off of him.

Zion flipped in the air from the force of Arion pushing him off, but used this to his advantage, letting go of one blade to kick it toward the god.

Arion parried, then swiped horizontally to catch Zion's fall. But using acrobatics, Zion flipped again in the air, landing flat on Arion's sword, used his foot to kick the blade out of his hand, and as he landed on the ground, he grabbed Arion's arm and flung him over his shoulder.

Arion was surprised at Zion's fluid motions and quick thinking, but wasn't going down that easily. Instead of landing on his back like anyone else world, Arion landed on his feet, grabbed the arm that Zion was using to grab him, and flung the demigod over his shoulder, copying his attack.

"Woah!" Zion was flung away very fast without even being able to react. He used his aura force to grab his blade and planted both in the ground to stop his momentum.

But right as he stopped, Arion rushed in with a flurry of attacks that broke Zion's stance.

"I can change my weapon, too." Arion's sword morphed into a staff, and he jabbed Zion in the chest, the impact causing a massive shockwave.

"Handle this, mortal." The god extended his hand, and millions of weapons spawned in the air and then flew at Zion with the intention of killing him.

"Shit!" Zion kicked off the air, landing back on the ground, and dodged all of the weapons coming his way. He ducked, jumped, flew, and did everything he could to avoid all of them. He still got clipped by some, but it wasn't serious enough to worry about.

Arion smirked. "Impressive." Changing his weapon back to a sword, he rushed in to attack Zion once more.

Their battle raged on, getting more and more intense each second. Zion continued to grow faster and faster, adapting to things he normally wouldn't have, and his senses grew sharper.

He could see Arion's attacks, he could feel how powerful they were, and he could deliver the same energy back at him.

'This mortal! He's getting stronger and faster! Is he really turning into a god?!'

Arion punched Zion into one of the domes, completely destroying it in the process. He attacked the tumbling Zion, but he was blocked and kicked away.

Their battle destroyed many buildings and killed some unfortunate people, but Zion managed to drag Arion away from the population.

They moved so fast that they looked like lines of light traveling around the sky.

Then it happened, Arion got pushed back. He was in shock; he couldn't understand how this was happening. He needed to kill Zion right away, but he couldn't. Everything he did was just brushed away.

"Die!" He screamed, thrusting his blade at Zion's face.

But Zion saw it, the trajectory, the point where Arion's attack would land, and so he dodged and sliced off the god's arm, then jabbed him with his blades thousands of times, which brought the god to his knees.

"Arghhhhhh!!"

Zion didn't realize it yet, but the nexus energy in his body had combined with his divine energy and ancient relics. Then, thanks to being in contact with Arion, it accelerated his growth and acted as the catalyst to push Zion past his limits.

While he may have still felt like a demigod at this moment, he was now, in fact, a god.
