Chapter 281 - Willow Returns
"How do you plan on getting control of them? You know they could kill you easily, right? Don't do anything rash, Zion."
"Look at you, all worried about me. It's so cute. You're cute, EreboOOOOOOF!"
She punched him in the stomach.
"Y-You bitch! I'm still healing!"
"Hmph! Don't fuck with me then." She brushed her hair to the side and leaned back in her chair.
"A goddess acting like a child, insane." He muttered under his breath.
"Anyway, just know that I have a plan. If and when I find them, they'll be under my control."
'You got this, right, Tessa?'
[Oh, so this is on me now?]
'What do you mean 'This is on you now.' It's always been on you! You're the one who wants to use them as the template for your body!'
[Fair. I've already developed a software that will allow me to hack any type of magical matrix, so we should be okay.]
'We're so fucked if this doesn't work.'
"Alright, I'll see you later." Zion waved to Erebosa.
"And where are you going? I didn't say you can leave."
"Please, I don't need your permission. Besides, I'm going to the nexus pool. I have to merge it with your power, Willow's orders."
"Willow? Oh, the will of the world." She remembered.
"Yer. So, I'll see you later. Best to get on this right now rather than later. I'm already three days late."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Leave."
Zion turned around to leave, but after taking one step, he turned back around.
"I'm just letting you know that I'm leaving on my own accord, not because you told me to."
"Unhuh."
"I'm serious!"
"Sure, buddy."
"Fuck you."
---
"So this is the nexus pool of the demon world, huh? Looks....the exact same. Alright, let's get to work."
It didn't take long for Zion to locate the nexus pool. All he had to do was follow the enormous pillar of demonic energy blasting in the sky that acted like a beacon.
Normally, this place would have been guarded by Azmorath and his people, but now that they were all dead, it was guarded by Elowen, and she allowed him to pass.
Upon arriving, the only difference between this nexus pool and the nexus pool of the middle world was that this one was made from demonic energy, while the middle world one was made from mana.
Other than that, the nexus pools functioned the exact same way.
Zion placed his hand on the violent demonic energy. Unlike last time, where he was completely overwhelmed by the vast amount of energy, he was able to easily handle the power this time.
He channeled his infernal energy, the power of Erebosa, and dumped all of it inside the nexus pool.
At first, nothing happened; the demonic energy was too much. But a little while later, the infernal energy started taking shape and overrode the demonic energy.
'Haha, this is great! I don't have to have my consciousness sucked into AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH'
Zion's mind was sucked into Willow's world.
"Hello, Zion."
"Willow." He greeted her back.
"I see you've managed to complete two of the tasks I've given you. Impressive."
"What can I say? I'm just built different."
"You're not humble at all." She said while shaking her head with a smile.
"Why would I need to be humble if it's the truth? If I beat the shit out of someone, I'm not gonna say that I got lucky, fuck that. I beat the shit out of that bastard and imma let everyone know that I did! The same thing applies here."
"I like that attitude of yours."
"Thanks. So, why did you summon me here? I haven't completed my last task yet. The nexus pool of the upper world isn't under my control at the moment."
Willow waved her hand and showed Zion the state of the upperworld. "I wanted to show you this." She said.
What she showed was a brutal, devastating war that was currently going on between the angels that followed Kayndra and the angels that followed the gods. That part was already known by Zion; however, there were two individuals whom he didn't recognize.
To be fair, though, Zion didn't recognize 99 percent of the angels, but these two people, he could tell they weren't angels.
"The sentinals." He concluded.
"Correct. Karyndra has released them. At first, she planned on sending them to your world to destroy it, but she learned that Erebosa and Luminera replaced the broken barrier, and she couldn't get through it. So, she used it against the gods instead." Willow waved her hands again, and there were five people currently commanding an army of angels. Those five people were the gods.
"This is my first time seeing what they actually look like. Previously, I only saw portraits and statues. I wonder, though, how strong they are now that the power they normally gained from faith has been severed."
"Thanks to you, they have become significantly weaker, or should I say, they returned to their original strength."
Zion raised an eyebrow. "Original strength?"
"When gods are born, they have a certain amount of power. That power grows until the god reaches their maximum potential. Usually, from there, they would try to become a Titan, but not all of them know how to or can even do so in the first place. So, they gain more strength through people worshiping them. This makes them significantly stronger."
"So basically, they were juicing themselves. Crazy."
"Juicing?"
Zion shook his head. "Don't worry about it. You wouldn't understand."
Willow shrugged. "Thanks to you, they have to personally step in and fight in this war. Now, angels still wouldn't be a threat to them, but since the sentinals have been released, they have no choice but to take action before they're killed."
"I would like to join that fight right now, but I have to master Authorities first. Only then will I be somewhat able to take them on."
"Authorities is such a basic ability. Here, this will hasten your learning time." Willow tapped his forehead, and all the knowledge of authorities entered his brain.
It was overwhelming. There was an authority for every type of magic, which meant that tons of information flooded his brain without any time for Zion to gather his thoughts. This also didn't have the safety protection that Luminera had given him when she dumped all of his past world's knowledge in his brain. So he had the worst headache ever had.
But then, the pain and discomfort vanished as if it never existed.
"The fuck?"
"You have a demigod brain now. Your ability to handle information is better than it ever was." Willow explained.
"I see. Well, thanks for the shortcut. I'll never say no to the easy way out, if there arent any repercussions." Zion grinned.
"This is all I wanted to tell you. I know you'll be going to the upperworld soon, so be careful. The sentinals aren't pushovers. They can enter heavenly realms without permission."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine. Those bastards wont know what hit them."
