Chapter 279 - Don't fly too close to the sun
"NOOOOOOOOOO!!" Azmorath could feel his blood connection to his daughter vanish, telling him that she had been killed.
"You sick bastard!"
"So now you act humane? What happened to the fierce, stoic, power-hungry demon I was facing before? Gonna cry because your daughter died?" Zion mocked.
Azmorath took a deep breath, not falling for childish provocations. Then, he pointed a finger at him. "I'm going to kill you." He promised.
"Pfft." Zion couldn't help but laugh.
"Is something funny?!"
"I just laughed, so obviously something fucking is," Zion replied with a blank expression.
"You're nothing but a child, a being who hasn't even lived for a century! I've lived for millions of years! I was there when your kind first walked the earth, when your kind used to worship not only the gods, but the demons and angels alike! And I was there when it all came crumbling down. Do you seriously think that a being as lowly as yourself can defeat me?"
"Does that cock in your ass make you stupid? Or is it the one in your mouth?" Zion asked
Azmorath lost his patience. "Once I'm done with you, I'll kill your family, then after your family, I'll destroy your puny world, and after that, I'll kill those two twin goddesses that gave you false hope."
Zion tried to calm his raging mind, taking deep breaths and not letting his thoughts spiral. "Fuck that!"
A punch so hard it generated lightning struck Azmorath in the face, but he grabbed Zion's arm and headbutted the man. But Zion grabbed Azmorath's head, opening his mouth, and shot a powerful blast of energy from it.
"You animal!"
"Says the fucking bat!" He tackled Azmorath into the air, punching him upward and casting spells at him.
The demon counterattacked, pushing Zion to his limits with how powerful he was and how his demonic spells greatly injured him, but Zion pressed on.
They rose higher and higher into the sky, not one backing down in their brutal fight.
Azmorath uppercutted Zion so hard that the clouds vanished, but Zion wrapped a rope of light around the vampire's neck and flung him even higher.
"Are you a fool!" Azmorath asked in a slight panic
"YES!" Zion responded without hesitation.
"You're taking us into the sea of stars! Only gods can survive that place!" He punched Zion in the throat. "You'll kill us both!"
Zion smirked. "That's even better!" He grabbed Azmorath's hair and dragged him higher and higher into the atmosphere until they reached low orbit.
"S-STOP!" Azmorath pushed Zion off him.
"What? Is the great archdemon scared? Never been to space before? Well, let me give you a tour!" He flew into Azmorath, pummeling him to a bloody pulp.
Azmorath swung back, but Zion caught his arm, flinging him into outer space. He then grabbed his face and flew toward a planet.
The vampire panicked, never being in pace before, and seeing the scale of things really made his mind go slightly crazy. He looked back, seeing the planet getting closer, and broke out of Zion's grasp, but before he could do anything, he was lasered down to the planet's surface.
The planet was a dead one. Dirt and dust everywhere, very thin atmosphere, and no signs of life or even mana.
Azmorath could barely breathe, using his demonic energy as his life support. Even though he was a higher-level being, he was still bound to a world on a mortal scale, meaning he was susceptible to the negative effects of space.
Zion, on the other hand, was a demigod and could freely survive space. Though he could feel his demigodhood wavering since he wasn't on the planet anymore. Still, his nano suit was built with space travel in mind, so he would be fine regardless.
"You feel that? Your insides are probably going crazy right now because of the rapid change of pressure and the fact that your blood is losing oxygen."
"Oxy-what?"
"Heh, look at you. You call me a monkey, yet you don't even know how we breathe, how gravity works, how space works, or even about the inner workings of the body. You're more of a monkey than I am."
Azmorath stood up, feeling lighter than normal.
"The planet is smaller than the one we're used to, and because of its thin atmosphere, you're feeling lighter. But that isn't always a good thing. Stay here too long and your body will start breaking down."
"How do you know all of this?!" Azmorath demanded to know.
"Heh, I like that look on your face. The look of an inferior being meeting a higher power."
"YOU!" Azmorath charged at Zion. He felt faster and stronger; he felt unstoppable, but that wasn't how Zion saw him.
Zion easily dodged, kicking Azmorath into the air, then flying upward to escape the pull of the planet, leaving its atmosphere.
"How about we take a hot bath!" Zion shouted, but his voice was cut off by the empty void that was space, so all that Azmorath saw was a creepy smirk.
They continued their battle, crashing into asteroids, moons, and even planets when Azmorath knocked Zion off course, but that didn't stop Zion from dragging the demon into the sun.
"Stop it! You'll kill us both!"
[Stop it! You'll kill us both! Is what I got from his facial movements.]
"I like the sound of that." He headbutted Azmorath and then used his laser vision to push him further toward the sun.
The heat was blazing on their bodies, and they both felt like they would die at any moment. No amount of magic or high-tech suits would prevent the intense heat from baking the two of them.
With the snap of his fingers, all of Zion's space weapons gathered around him. And to hear Azmorath's final words, he created a digital barrier around them.
"Any last words?" Zion asked
"Haah, d-do you have a death wish? Can you not feel the heat?"
"Pretty shitty final words if you ask me."
"I'M SERIOUS!" He shouted. "Is killing me that worth it?! How will you accomplish your goals if you're dead?!"
"I told you, I'm immortal."
"Bullshit!"
"And you killed my father."
Azmortah paused. He didn't recall killing Zion's father. No, he didn't even know who his father was.
"Lyzaroth," Zion said finally.
"No."
Zion smirked. "Yes. Fate is cruel, isn't it?"
"Haha, hahahaha, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! DIE YOU FUCKING BASTARD!"
Zion pointed his finger, and all of his space weapons fired onto the demon, blasting him into the sun.
"I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU! I'LL WAIT FOR YOU IN HELL WHERE YOU'LL ROT FOR ETERNITY!"
Zion didn't respond, only stared at Azmorath as the sun melted his skin and burned him to ashes.
"Your final words were shit." Zion flew back to the planet.
