Chapter 271 - Hylaea subdued
Millions of debris rained down on the planet, threatening to cause massive destruction. Dragons fell from the sky, some dead, others wounded, but all completely defeated.
Light stopped shining in the sky due to the debris that rained down from the sky, but then some of the debris suddenly disappeared, vanishing into the air as if they didn't exist, but Zion already knew what was happening to them.
"Tessa, calculate the trajectory of all the moon fragments that will rain down on the middle world and destroy them."
[Got it.....Okay, calculations are complete. Everyone, don't be alarmed, I'm taking control over every weapon here.]
And just as Tessa said, every single weapon from Zion's army fired into the sky, blasting the moon fragments to dust before they could cause any destruction.
"Hey, son."
"Hmm?" Zion turned around and saw his mom. "Oh, hey, Mom. What's up?"
"Just enjoying the meteor shower. It's unfortunate that we don't have a moon anymore. I liked looking at it."
"Nah, don't worry. It will be restored. The moon is a part of the world, and Willow can just create another one." This was also the reason why Zion wasn't worried about the repercussions a world would go through if it lost its moon.
"The world being alive is a really neat thing." He admitted.
"So, what now?" She asked
"Well, first," He raised his hand, calling upon the ancient relic that Circe had, and it flew into his palm. "I'll merge with the Grimiore of Knowledge and absorb Circe's essence." Which he then did.
"Next, we'll round up all the dragons and give them an ultimatum. So, let's get to work."
Over the next five hours, half of Heaven's Bane rounded up the dragons, both dead and alive, while the other half focused on rebuilding all the destruction caused by their war.
After the dragons were gathered, Zion allowed them to host a funeral before continuing with negotiations. Out of the 1.5 million troops they had, only 100,000 of them survived, and for Zion's troops, no one died.
Well, technically, a lot of them did, but because of the way their immortality worked, they just came back to life, even if their bodies were destroyed, since only a drop of blood was needed for their survival.
But if Zion didn't include that, then about half of his army was killed. He didn't even need to use the other millions of troops he had on standby, so his losses were very small, even if they didn't have immortality.
Once everything had settled down, Zion met with Drakoth, who miraculously survived, and talked about the future of Hylaea.
"Thank you for allowing us to bury our dead." Drakoth bowed
"Wouldn't have needed to if you all just complied in the beginning." Zion pointed out.
Drakoth's anger surged. "You can't expect us to-!"
"Lower your fucking tone. You arent the one in power here, I am. Now, try that again."
Although he was angry and heartbroken, he calmed himself and took a deep breath. "Now that you've won, what do you plan on doing to us? Can you at least spare the women and children?"
"The fuck? Do you take me as a crazy maniac who will wipe out an entire race just because they don't agree with me?"
Everyone didn't say anything. Even Zion's own people looked at him in confusion.
"Wait, babe, didn't you say that we'll wipe out those flying-"
Zion teleported Lidia to his fracture. "She's just tired from all the fighting, don't mind her. But no, I wont plan on wiping you all out. All you have to do is convert. That it. Very simple."
Drakoth gulped. "And if we don't?"
Kai killed one of the surviving generals right in front of everyone. "That will happen."
The dragons gulped even harder.
"We understand. I'll prepare a speech and make a public statement within the hour." Drakoth stood up and bowed.
"See, we could have done this the first time, but noo, you had to be all prideful and stupid. Now your kingdom is destroyed, you lost tons of people, and your divine apostle, your wife, is dead. How do you feel about that?"
Zion didn't need to rub salt in the wound, but he didn't give a fuck about their feelings. He saw Drakoth grit his teeth and clench his fists. It was obvious that the dragon wanted to do something, but he was smart.
"Yeah, that's right bitch. Know your place." Zion stood up and left the room.
"My King! We need to retaliate! We can't let him get away with this!" An advisor complained
"I agree! Lord Drakoth, we have to fight back!"
"You fools! He completely decimated our army, destroyed our homes, killed my wife, and ALMOST DESTROYED THE WORLD BY USING THE MOON!" He had to emphasize that last part.
"If you wish to fight against a monster like that, then you have my permission. I, however, will not be doing that. I have a family to protect. I've already failed my wife, I wont fail my children."
The other dragons got the message this time. They were only thinking about their honor and nothing else. But when Drakoth broke it down like that, they realized that there was truly no chance of them beating Zion.
Like he promised, Drakoth gave a speech within the hour. He didn't use propaganda like the other nations. Instead, he told the truth. It was hard for the dragons to accept this new reality, but not as hard as for the other kingdoms.
With the other kingdoms, Zion had to give an excuse why they should convert. But here, with the dragons, they valued the strong, and since Zion demolished their fighting force, it was only right that the weak submitted to the strong. So, they willingly accepted Luminera's blessings and teachings.
'Yes! Everything is over! I've done it! I'm going to have sex for an entire month without stopping. Fuck working overtime, fuck the underworld, fuck the upperworld, and fuck the gods. I'm taking a month off. VACATION TIME, BABY!'
