Bittersweet Love: With A Millennium old Demon

Inside the banquet hall, the chattering and laughter of the guests could be heard and the orchestral music playing in the background. The place was filled up with guests, who were dressed in expensive clothes. It was clear that they came to show off. 

Emily, her brother Jacob and their mother were all sitting down, their eyes on the prince who was at the entrance of the hall. Emily was dressed in a red beautifully decorated gown. It was a long sleeve dress with a v shape style at the top.From her shoulders to her waists, the dress was fitted, from her waist downward it was made to be loose.

 Her silky hair was tied up in a bun, with two curled ones left to fall at the side of her, she wore a gold necklace and earrings. Her mother Rachel dressed in green, with her hair tied up, she was also wearing gold jewellery. 

Jacob dressed in a black suit. Most of the men's eyes were already on Emily, but they dared not to make a move. " Mother, are you sure the prince will choose me?" She asked as she nervously sip from her drink. 

 " Since your father asked you to trust in him, I think he will find a way, " Rachel calmly answered. 

" mother look, isn't that the princess of the blood moon pack?" Emily asked her mother while glaring daggers at a young slim tall lady with fair skin, dark silky hair tied up with two short curls of hair falling at the front of her face . 

She looked elegant, she was wearing a royal blue gown with silver jewellery, her hazel eyes gently observing the room. She has this strong aura around her.

 Jacob turned around to see what the princess looked like, " thump thump thump" his heart skipped a couple of beats. She was the most beautiful girl he has ever laid his eyes on. 

He was literally drooling at her " mother, i don't like her, she looks so sly and cunning" Emily said with disgust, this brought Jacob out of his trance. He couldn't help growling at his sister " grrrrr" his chest rumbled. 

Emily almost fell from her chair. " What is wrong with you?" She asked, feeling scared and irritated. He grabbed her hand" i don't want you to ever say any ill words about her, understood?" He growled as he exerted more force on it.

 Emily whimpered, " Enough Jacob" their mother's authoritative voice brought him out of his stupor. He retracted his hands, he closed his eyes, trying to contain his burst of anger " I am sorry, I need fresh air" he said looking at his sister angrily before storming outside.

 " What was that all about? Mother Jacob actually hurts me,… he .. he had never done that before" Emily said with a choked voice, as her eyes trailed at the silhouette of her brother who went outside the hall.

 " Are you okay Emily? Don't worry when we get home, we will talk about this" Rachel tried to comfort her, both of them knew that this was really strange of him. " it is because of that sly blood moon princess, has she enslaved my bro…" Rachel shush her up by placing her middle finger on her lips. 

" don't speak ill of her, you might get in trouble for that" Rachel warned. " isn't it about time for the king to arrive?" she grumbled as she rubbed her wrist which was grabbed by Jacob.

 After the question left Calista's mouth, she bit her lips as she could feel his intense gaze on her. It was as if he was trying to use his eyes to uncover every disguise on her. 

Fortunately Calista heard " you may come in" from a man who was behind them. He had a warm aura around him. Calista quickly walked past them, sticking out her tongue at them " thank you very much for letting us in sir..?" She asked, smiling genuinely at him, even though she could feel the ice cold glare coming from behind her. 

The gentleman smiled at her " I am prince Ezekiel and you are?" He asked enthusiastically " I am Cal and this is… Aaron" she answered looking at Aurora, who looked extremely nervous now, they paid respect to him, by bowing to him.

 Aurora's face has turned crimson, she can't believe that she finally met the man who she has always admired. 

"It's an honour to meet you, my prince" Aurora said in a high pitch, that Calista had to unconsciously rub her ear. The two mysterious men walked past them without even greeting the crown prince. So arrogant!!! She cursed inwardly, but was later surprised when the prince bowed in respect to them. 

" welcome king Alexander and prince Ethan" prince Ezekiel politely greeted while bowing slightly to king Alexander. Calista and Aurora were staring in daze, a cold stare from king Alexander, quickly brought them out of their daze, a fearful look flash across prince Ezekiel's face, knowing how short tempered the demon king was. Calista and Aurora quickly offered a bow to them.

 Calista couldn't help but to look around the banquet hall, it was massive. The chandelier was made from gold, with sweeping staircases that led up the hall which were also made of gold and decorated with flowers, there were numerous balconies overlooking the rolling hills, the walls were decorated with gold and white, the hall was arranged in rectangular rows.

 " Grrrr" the growls and snarls of the guests suddenly break out in the hall. Aurora held Calista's arms " what is going on?" She whispered , as she looked around scared of what caused the sudden hostile reaction. 

Calista was also scared because that was very weird. Calista looked at the two mysterious men from earlier. They were both sitting nonchalantly while grabbing a cup of wine.

 " Chill, you don't want to be perceived as a crazy dog right?," the man with raven hair said sarcastically, while the other man was laughing as if he just heard the best joke of the century. The werewolves really hate it when they are compared to dogs. 

That was when Calista realised that her pack was growling at these two men. The leader of the palace guards came out of the crowd " you two are not welcome here" he said as his inner wolf growled and clawed inside him, his beast was trying to come out.

The man with raven black hair only spared him a glance and went back to sipping his drink.
